I'd like to be able to text with people from my computer (which is a new Macbook retina).
Is there a way to direct texts to my google/gmail account? That way, I don't have to keep glancing at my phone when on the computer at work.

I add a contact on my EVO and it does not show up when I log into my gmail account online from my PC. I even logged out of my account on-line - no go. What the heck am I doing wrong?
I checked my phone and under the Sync settings the contacts and Gmail is checked.
getting to load a ROM for the first time and I noticed this....
On my laptop using Gmail I can go to Chat-> Call phone -> and a keypad will pop up so that I can dial out. I want to be able to do the same thing on my Android phone. I have the Gmail and Talk apps but I do not see the same Chat/Call Phone/Keypad option that I see on my laptop. How I can get the keypad to show on my phone so that I can dial out? Do I need to download Google"+" mobile to be able to do this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedNot being able to see their keyboard in landscape or whatever. This problem is different I'd say; my keyboard shows up, but when I press a key, nothing shows up. This has happened for a while and I simply shrugged it off as a bug, since it fixed itself eventually, but today it got much much worse and it has not worked in a couple hours.

When I do, it will show the person's name and phone number more than 20+ times! It's actually doing this for every contact I have, but only when I'm searching for a name when I'm trying to send a text message.
It doesn't affect my sending or receiving of messages, but it's a little annoying.
Just noticed that when I click on the "People" icon from home screen that some of my contact names are listed more than a dozen times!
When I try sending a text to an email via handcent, it doesn't show to text.My mom sends me texts via email when shes at work and I'm not able to respond unless I use the native android text app.Does anyone know how to fix this problem, or is this just not possible with handcent?

View 1 Replies View Relatedwhy my S4 is deleting all my contacts from it. I have my contacts synced with my gmail contacts and this has been the case for years. I had a Samsung Infuse before this and have never had a problem. I've had the S4 for about 3 weeks now and this hasn't happened until yesterday. And since yesterday it has happened 3x's. At first I thought it was a Trulia app (realestate app) that I was using to try to call some realtors. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence but the first 2 times I was on the app and my contacts disappeared. How I recovered them was through the contacts recovery feature on Gmail. I would be SOL if I were out and needed to call someone on my contacts list immediately and without access to my laptop.

View 1 Replies View Relatedso i have gone thru everything i can find on this forum but i am at my wits end. i have been able to get my outlook contacts into my gmail account (the csv import worked reasonably well). what i don't understand is that i can view a contact in gmail and see phone numbers, address, email, etc. when i view on the G1 all i get is their email. what am i doing wrong? yes, i have gone in the "display groups" settings and tried all options. anybody else having this problem? BTW, so far i like the functionality of the starcontacts application.

Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Firstly, does anyone know if there's any was of getting it to always show pictures for a given sender (like the web app)? I seem to have a decent connection most places, and get fed up of constantly having the press the button, especially as most of the emails I get are HTML type newsletters. And related to the type of emails, why doesn't the GMail app also have pinch to zoom when viewing the messages? They always come up huge and I have to scroll around. Can you at least change the default zoom. Failing that is there a another free email app. that will do these things.

For some reason, when I get mail it will from time to time show up in the email app. It always shows up in gmail, but every now and then, it will also show up in the mail widget. The question I have is, why will HTML mail only show the attachments/pictures in the mail widget. The same email will not display in gmail. How can I get gmail to show HTML images?

In more detail:
I do not have internet from a cable/satellite company. The only internet connection I have is through my cellphone hotspot.
Chromecast will be connected to the internet through my cellphone hotspot (SSID: AndroidAP).
When my cellphone has the hotspot running it does not show up on its own network (AndroidAP).
I need the phone to show up on the network (AndroidAP) so that I can see the chromcast and use the phone as a remote.
Is this even possible?
I would get a Green Led Notification for GMAIL . And then when i would i check it , it doesn't show on my status bar . And when i close the phone, like lock it .. the Led keeps blinking green ? It stayed like this for almost two days .. and then just then I signed up for this forum it sent me and email to my phone .. surprisingly .. my Led blinks , the phone vibrates and GMAIL shows on the status bar ..What can I do to prevent the GMAIL &continuously Led blinking .. to happen again ? What's wrong with my DROID ?
