How can i write small information while i'm talking to someone on the phone?
Isn't there a way I can get contact information I find on the web into my Android phone book without having to pull out my phone and typing it in by hand?
I thought there was a way, maybe I had to add something to my computer where I could type highlight the name, address and phone number, right click up a menu and have it all added to my phone book.
I know People say the phone gets warm while charging, or using the browser. But mine seems to get warm while talking on the phone.

However, the phone does not seem to recharge while using the phone or while playing games (I'm addicted to RoboDefender already ). Is this normal? I've only charged it from my workstation and laptop so far. Does the phone gain charge from the included USB adapter? Can I use a dual-lead USB cable to get charged on the laptop/workstation (cables with one data USB cable and one for power)?

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust got my sprint hero last week. I noticed that while talking on the phone for longer than 5 minutes the phone seems to get extremely hot. In particular the speaker in the front and where the camera is in the back. The heat generated is really intense and is really uncomfortable after a certain amount of time. What I want to know is anybody else having this issue?

About 2-3 times a week, while on the phone, ill hear the start up sound of my eris, still talking to people on the phone, look and the eris has restarted, but im still on the phone. eventually it will cut off the call and finish starting up....has anyone had this problem. I thought it might be a problem with one of the apps, so i reformated back to like new, and ran it for 2 days before it did it again. Thanks

So has anyone been having problems with pressing on-screen buttons with their face and stuff? Has the absence of the proximity sensor been an issue with the Hero?

I told her to make sure it is resting against her cheek so that her cheek isn't randomly hitting buttons on the dial pad but that still doesn't help.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI got my fascinate yesterday and it's amazing. However, so far there is one thing I noticed that I hope I can get some input on: I used to have the original Droid and I was able to use the phone while I had my earbuds on. I could talk into the speaker while listening to the other end on earbuds. It was very convenient that I didn't have to take them out when I was listening to music while I got a call or made one.
Now, I found out that with my fascinate I cannot do this. I got a call this morning while I was listening to music and I answered the call with my head phones on. I could hear the other person but the other person couldn't hear me. Then, I had to take out the ear buds and speak on the phone. Is there a way to work around this or am i stuck doing this from now on?? I really hate the phone mic headphones bc they suck and I love using my current ear buds.
I've bought this chinese clone of the SIII, it's a MT6575. It's great except for the internal storage, which supposedly is 500MB but there seems to be an invisible SD storage which is 2GB. It's really confusing... When I go to Settings -> Storage there are 3 memories: "Internal Storage" (claims to be 4GB but it's fake, it's actually 500MB), "Phone Storage" (claims to be 16.5GB but it's probably 2GB), and finally my SD, "SD Card" (32GB).
The thing is, I'm having problems downloading big apps because apps go to "Internal Storage" which is 500MB only, and which files are stored in the "Phone Storage" (maybe internal & phone are actually the same?). However when I go to Settings -> Apps, on the "Downloaded" tab, the apps are in "Internal Storage" (500MB), and on the "On SD Card" tab, it shows that apps are in "Phone Storage" (the ones I moved to SD). This means my 32GB SD isn't being used by the system when I send apps to SD probably.
Also, my 32GB SD card is found in /mnt/sdcard2, and the /mnt/sdcard... I don't know which storage is that.
So basically all this is happening because I tried to Link2SD with my 32GB SD doing all the 2 partitions stuff and so, but Link2SD never detects the "secondary SD" which is the 32GB SD, as this fake SD card, "Phone Storage", is probably what the programs thinks to be the SD card.
When I record a video using Talking Tom and email it to myself, I get an error message when I try to play it on my droid x. It does play on the PC however and others can also play it. I've also tried saving it to my sd card but it doesn't play. Any ideas?

View 25 Replies View RelatedThe biggest talking point with this phone seems to be the size. Id be curious to see some numerical opinions! I myself have been waffling: at first I thought "Oh, way too big". Then this picture made me think its not the much larger than similar phones and I was getting it for sure! But this pic has me wondering. Looks pretty giant in her hand:
So: What do YOU think about the size? If you havent seen yet, engadget has a gallery of 50 some pictures.

I am a Mac user (photographer/ videographer). I also rely heavily on my iPod Touch when mobile (i can often find a wifi signal when i am out and about). I use iCal on the Touch and iCal on my Mac as well as the address book on both everyday and as a Mobile Me user, my two devices sync so everything is mirrored and up to date. I also HATE AT&T for their terrible signal strength and coverage and have been a loyal Verizon customer for many years and this is why I don't have an iPhone. Okay, all that being said, is there an easy way to still use everything I love and rely on with my Mac (the calender and address book, mainly) and easily sync all of my existing information and future info to an Android based device? How easy is it to use an Android device with a Mac? I don't want to have to manually re-enter my entire address book into a new device.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm struggling with contacts in the phonebook modified by code, I noticed the lack of the small icon that identifies the type of account (e.g. google), despite the contact is perfectly synchronized with google (ACCOUNT_NAME and ACCOUNT_TYPE are populated of course)
In attach an example of this icon taken from contacts synchronized with google icon present (not modified via code). Which property controls his icon ?
I am new to android development. Why is it that the screen looks great on a test avd but when I deploy the app to my Droid everything is off and really small?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to write an app that will stream MP3s from a server to any of the three major smartphone operating systems in the US (iPhone, Blackberry, and Android). Here is the tradeoff I'm concerned with: if I write the app natively, it will make for the best user experience and give me the capability to add many more features if I want, but I will have 3 separate codebases, which violates the DRY principle. If I use one of the frameworks out there to write it in Javascript/HTML (e.g. Rhomobile Rhodes), then I have one codebase for all the major platforms, so I'm not violating DRY and the development process is simpler in that respect, but a) the user experience will suffer, and b) I did some simple tests using SoundManager to play MP3 files with Javascript on the iPhone, and it started sucking right away (e.g. the second phase of the experiment after "cool, I can play an MP3" was "I have no access to ID3 tags? That sucks.").

View 4 Replies View Relatedthe small usb port cover separate from the phone. Mine did yesterday. It's held in place by a small plastic tab which has a barbed end which should keep it attached. I guess with all the charging that this phone requires this little cover gets moved and twisted alot. It will still go back in place but I'm afraid that at some point it will separate and I'll lose it. My old HTS had a much more rubbery cover that always stayed attached to the phone.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to store data to use in my android program. Here are the details about the data: There will be one table. Each "row" of data will have a unique INT identifier. Other then that field, there will be four other INT fields and a text field. The string field will probably be a 2 or 3 sentences long. Each of the 4 INT fields will correspond to the ID of other rows.
