Considering how much Google has done to popularize them, it seems like a glaring oversight that I read about an interesting app on my laptop or desktop, see a link to the bottom of the article, and visit the Market page yet I then have to open up a QR code generator to be able to easily get to that page on my phone. Why doesn't google autogenerate one somewhere on the app page?

I have a login oage which i hve to post with soem user details like user name , passwords, and some hidden values. i need to submit the response page aftr login (its an I agree) to make an API request . I want to do all thse things through code which needs to consider evry aspcts as we are doing the same using browser. I submited the first login page using code and got the resonse page. on submiting the I agree page I m redirected to a some other page.it seems the cookie is not handled while submiting the second page or may be some redirects or so.
The same is working well if i make the request through browser

If any ppl cannot figure out a solution, whether we can load url in the browser class of android so tht we can get all the data in the browser and can use the methods associated with the browser.
I own HTC Desire (Bravo). I rooted my phone year ago or so, tried different ROMs etc. I dont remember when exactly, but my Google play store is loading pages really slow. I am not in US, I doubt its carrier based issue..
Currently I'm using CM..I think its 8 or 9, not sure of the version because recently my ROM manager app stopped working. (Will try to reinstall it when I get calm enough to open Google Play Store again )
On the startup it says CM 7 (mod) but I think it does so for all versions. I flashed CM using clockwork mod.
To solve issue I've tried clearing cash/data but it didn't work . Btw I use wi-fi mostly, but issue is the same whether I use mine or some other wi-fi.
There's a way to set the browser so it doesn't go to the mobile version of pages always. i can't even get to the regular version of espn. i could before, but i cleared my cookies and can't anymore. i don't want to view any mobile versions!

I press the shortcut icon I want to delete, hold, wait for the vibration, drag to the garbage icon, and release. When I go back to the application page the shortcut icon is still there.
This technique works perfectly on the home pages, just not on the application pages.
Excuse the simplicity of this request - but is there a way for me to link onClick commands for buttons through the Layout rather than code. I am trying to create a simple app and I want to be able to make buttons and have clicks go from one "page" to the other.
If not, could someone please point me in the direction of the code needed for it?

I have several suggestions for features and some bugs to report in applications I got from the Market. Yet I can't find a web page to even start sending my bugs/suggestions in. On the official Android site, the applications section nowhere near matches the Market. I have a question & a suggestion for the Android developers:
A) Is there already a collection of web pages that match the apps that I missed?
B) If there's not, this would be a very nice thing to have to get applications in the marketplace: okay, so you wrote the code, here's your free hosted web page to describe a bit about your app, as well as a bug tracker for your app that anyone can register for. The "free" part COULD be paid for or something by T-Mobile & whichever other carriers eventually run Android.
If you downloaded new applications from some setup like this instead of the market, then people would know about it and know where to turn to talk back to the developers. Alright, keep the Market for new applications (and maybe rename it to "Beta"), but once they have gained enough popularity (or some other metric), they get moved to the hosted bug tracker/etc. site, maybe called Alpha.
I'm using the latest version of Google Maps on JB 4.2.2 [Nexus 4]..I noticed that I cannot edit the names of my locations in "My Places" in the phone app. So I used Google Bookmarks (google.com/bookmarks) from my PC to edit/rename My Places. However, the names do not sync or carry through to the Google Maps app on the phone. The names in the app are still the generic names, coordinates or street names.
Is there any way to change the names of My Places and get them to sync with the phone app? Really baffling!
Just installed the new Google Search. But i dont have any options to turn on cards, like TV shows, local transport etc. Do these appear over time? I only have 4 things in "Everything else" but i have seen people have like 20+

I was wondering if any of you know of a good App Market that doesn't link to the Play Store? I tried GetJar, AppBrain & BAM but they all link to the Play Store page. (It always says "This item is not available in your country" unless Ive installed it before)I also tried SlideME but it didn't even have some very known apps.
I don't know why but my google sync stopped. I used to have this several times a day the last days but now it seems to be permanent.

I have double checked my accounts and Calendar is checked under the sync settings. However, when I go into the HTC calendar, the only calendar available is the PC Sync calendar. When I go into settings, and Calendars, the Google Calendar doesn't show up there either. I have added another google account to the fun just to check and it syncs the account normally.

These sites are crucial for Android's success, as without them dev support would die. Yet these sites rely on user donations and frequently the site admins own pocket. I donate when I can because of the importance. But the amount they ask for is not much, it wouldn't even matter to Google, and they are the company who should be most concerned about Android.

i don't know if this is normal of not - when i use google play (downloaded from play store) and the album cover pic doesn't change. if it switch between artists (different "folder") it will change, but if i have 1 artist with like multiple albums it won't change album picture. and yes i'm sure the song has an album art attached refer to sig for my phone specs

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently started using Google Hangouts instead of SMS (TextMessaging). The only issue I have is that the numbers I havent added any areacode to gets the areacode for Sweden (+46), and this is ONLY on Google Hangouts.
When I go back to the regular SMS app, the areacode is removed, and I can again send SMS without sending it to Sweden first.
I'm from Norway if it matters (+47). But the phone itself is imported from Sweden, but I'm using Norwegian as language. I checked my gmail. I have my country set to Norway.
Seriously..this is my biggest gripe with Google. No matter how much time and effort I put into going through all my contacts and joining them and linking them to Facebook, it's all for naught because if I ever I have restore them from Google sync, they will all be unjoined and unorganized. Why doesn't Google remember which contacts I join with each other and which ones get linked with which Facebook profile?
I also back my contacts to my SD via Go Backup. That method remembers which contacts are joined but doesn't backup anything related to Facebook. And if I restore my contacts via that method, Google will still sync and I'll have like 3 of each contact.

I love how neatly Google Voice Typing works for English. But when I try to dictate on my native language, Spanish, it won't recognize commands such as "question mark", "comma", or things like that. If I say them in Spanish, it will write the whole thing, ie: "Signo de exclamacion"...I just want it to be able to transcribe it to a "!" sign, a "?", etc. I also attempted to say them in English (while dictating Spanish), it will just get confused.

I'm not seeing any issues on any emulators or devices.
I would like to install just Google Play (Market) without the other GApps. I tried a couple of APKs that I found floating around the forums, but none seem to work.
Are there some additional dependencies (like the Google account, for example) which I need to install in order to use Play? I am trying to avoid any Google synch and also don't need GMail, Talk, etc. Installing them just to remove them with Titanium or something seems counter-intuative.

I had a Dell Streak previously (until some git stole it on a train - I will find you Mr Thief, if you're reading) so i know market is available on the device - my g-mail account even contains all the old apps i have paid for when i was last using the same device
i'm aware i can probably install non-market apps using apk files, but due to laziness i really want to avoid this.
I'm looking for a way to download some FREE apps from google play without having the market installed. To make a long story short: I don't like the market to know what my phone runs.
