If I root my GSIII can the size limit on video text messages be adjusted or deleted all together? This is the only thing I don't like about my phone, I send a lot of video tex+ messages and this drives me crazy. I know I can change my video settings for MMS but the quality is really crappy.

I have tried numerous launchers and have found it difficult to find any launchers that allow you to go above 72x72 resolution for icons. The only one that would was Go Launcher EX and that simply scaled them up to a barely noticeable 82x82.
Is there a launcher which allows you to load icons that are say 100x100 and that does not scale them?
I noticed that the videos in Youtube looked much better on my new phone then on the previous phone and thought that the Youtube app was defaulting to the HD stream (previous phone had really crappy WiMax, new phone is LTE @14Mbps even inside a large warehouse). After toggling it on and off to be sure it was indeed off, it appears that it still is using a higher bitrate stream probably because of the great LTE. What is strange though, is that last week, Youtube was averaging 150-200MB a day after watching a couple of videos. This week, after toggling HD on/off, it's nearly 3-4x as much and rapidly using up my data for the month. The "regular" stream also doesn't look that much different at all from the "HD" stream, so it could be it's stuck on the HD stream because of the high bandwidth my LTE connection has (or something else).
I want to use a lower quality stream to conserve my data, but have not been able to find any way to do so within the Youtube app, or via a Xposed module. Is there any way to choose the video size at all on a Android device? I'd prefer to stick with the stock Google Youtube app (via some external control/option?), but if I have to use some other app to do so I will.
Is there an app that will remove download restrictions?

Everything is woking great since i have flashed it, except for the video part. Before flashing my phone could play vvideos of of any size say 200 0r 400 mb without lagging. But after the flashing the same videos do not play. i have tried almost all the known players, i have also formatted my sd card. other than that the Rom seems to have no problem.
I was wondering if there's any way to put restrictions on a Samsung galaxy tab such as only being able to use the web browsing ... So i would like to disable the use of the android market etc. For school purposes (dont want my students playing games downloading etc etc).

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is my first post. I've had a Moto Droid since day one, and I just love it. It is without a doubt better than any phone that I've had over the years, and that includes the iPhone, BB, etc.
However, there are 2 things that I don't understand - Font size and a spell checker. It is imposiible to read the small font size in emails or text messages.
1. Why has there not been an app to either change the font size or be able to zoom in? Picasy has incorporated multi-touch for zooming, so I've to assume that its doable! Why not have the same in an email client.
2. Why is there not an email client out there that allows for spell checking? There are many such apps for the BB! I am a terrible speller.
I am not complaining, I just want to understand the limitations from a developers prospective, as I am sure these isuues will eventually be addressed.

I did attempt to use the search feature here but didnt come up with the results I was looking for (or maybe I used it wrong?) I ask the following questions because unfortunately, I dont have good eyesight.
1. Regarding font size. I realize there is no current setting for font size on this phone (that I know of) does anyone here know if the upcoming 2.1 update will include that?
2. I know there is a text size option for the browser. However, it doesent seem to work on most websites I go to (like CNN for example) I try setting it at different sizes and nada. I'm looking to make the plunge to Droid now that the new Droid X is announced but I'm still researching.I was looking on the web and I see some software to convert DVD's to formats so that they can be played on the Droid.Can anyone that does this give me an estimate as to how big the file size is when a DVD is converted? I realize that the quality can be changed which will affect the file size, but I'm trying to figure out about how many dvd's I could fit onto a 16gb card.

I got it to work well using a 848x480 ratio with avs converter, but it was only a 2 minute clip of the movie I want to drop on the movie ironman 2 that is 6.71gb from a blu ray.

I have transferred the file to my new EVO and I cannot watch the video...it does not even load. I get the following error message "Cannot Play Video" and "Sorry, this video cannot be played." I have tried the default video player, doubletwist and Meridian with no success. I then thought perhaps the single 4GB file is too large for the EVO and Android apps. View 2 Replies View RelatedI just need to know if it is possible at all to edit video taken with our Incredible (ex. shorten, decrease size, split into separate videos, etc.). I've searched the Market and can't find any app to edit videos. Because the resolution is so large, it is difficult and in some cases impossible to send a video via SMS, MMS or email because of its size. The smallest video setting is 1MB, which at the lowest resolution, is only 9 seconds long. That's horrible. I want to be able to record a regular video and edit it. Please help if anyone knows whether or not this is possible. By the way, despite the issues everyone else may have, I luv this phone...had it since day 2 of pre-order launch and never thought twice about returning it.

Put all your strings/text in Localizable.strings in the format: "sentence to translate" = "sentence translated" The original string can contain any characters of any type. So, what are the restrictions in the name of a resource on Android. Or is there a way to circumvent it and easily replace one string with another. I'd like to keep the original dictionary of text I was using on the iPhone to keep things simple and not introduce any unnecessary errors.
