View 2 RepliesI usually view email with attachments from my pc because I usually lack the time to download the attachment. Today, I had some spare time so I tried to download an attachment. It downloaded fine but when I went to view it, I received a pop-up box to save it to the sd card. After pressing ok, I was told the save was successful but now I can't find it. Aside from pics and videos, how do I access other folders with saved data?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC One X which is rooted, and I am wondering is there a way (or an app) to uninstall other apps without going through the normal uninstaller?
It'd be much faster to select a load of apps and have the phone uninstall them automatically..
I'm asking here rather than the HTC One X area because this is relative to any Android phone.
Just realized the 5.8.1 update to rom toolbox removed the ad blocker, any app that can disable the components like this did? PG06100 using Tapatalk 2

Those are apps I had installed in my previous rom (and some are even from the one I had before it!).Is there a way to clear the info of those apps I don't have anymore?

I have an application with a lot of media data (images and videos) that were previously stored on the sdcard. With that, images and videos are displayed fine in my app.
Now, in order to secure the content more, I wanted to move the content to the internal storage / data dir of the app, which I did. I copied all media with a routine within my app to the data folder (/data/data/com.myapp/some/folders/video.mp4) and adjusted the path in my app so that it would look for the media in the internal storage data directory and not the sdcard anymore.
Everything works fine, images are being displayed (decoded) properly, but videos don't play. They files do exist though - I do not get a FileNotFound exception. But an IOException: java.io.IOException: Prepare failed.: status=0xFFFFFFFC
Why is that? Everything is handled within my one app and the videos have been copied with the same routine as the images, thus having the same permission settings. Looking at the stack trace, it all runs in process id 18060).
Why I cannot playback the video from internal storage? Or how can I?

I am using Android 1.1. I am not able to create folder under /data directory. But permissions looks like read/write. I checked /system it is Read only.
Is it any way create directory like /data/myFiles/Audio ?
Someone recommend me a uninstaller app.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create an app that will inject any time an app is uninstalled. Is there a standard uninstaller function that is called regardless of the method used (like via the Marketplace, settings manager, or a third party app)? And is it possible to kill this function before it starts?
Ideally, I'd like to create a listener that listens for the uninstaller function and then injects a standard confirm/cancel dialogue.
Is there an app for rooted phones that will delete bloatware stuff like SprintTV, NASCAR and the like? did not find a specific name of an app.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was going through my Uninstaller App today to see what apps I really haven't been using much lately, because even though I have apps2sd, my internal memory is down to 23mb. Despite clearing the cache with cachmate. I have a bunch of apps, and know that they are all taking up cache, but daaaaamn, they take up a lot, lol. I have a 16gb, i think "kingston" sd card, and doubt it's a class 6 (because my wife got it at the sprint store), so I'm not comfortable moving all my dalvik cache onto it in case it screws something up, or makes it super slow. Sorry, got a little off topic. So I came across "com.htc 2.1-update1 10998kb", and wasn't sure if I would brick my phone by deleting it. It's obviously taking up some of my internal memory, and I'd like to have that room back lol. Does anyone know if I'll brick my phone if I delete it, or if it will be just fine if I delete it? I'm running 1.5, with Aloysius 2.1 LWP w/ OC. I refuse to upgrade to 2.1 and lose root. Unless someone has finally found a way to get root again after updating to 2.1?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI made a small webpage with a scrollable div. When I load it in a browser, it works fine. But when I load it in a webview inside Android, it doesn't let me scroll the div. Is there a workaround for this or do I have to use a different design? I am talking about websites like this.

What I cannot live with is that when I save my setup to Custom x, I cannot recover my previous screen settings apps, etc.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my N4 to 4.4.1 and now when I get in my VW GTI it starts auto-playing music in my pocket. This issue has always existed for me with multiple nexus devices on different versions of android but I was always to eliminate this issue by unchecking media playback in the bluetooth settings confining its use to only phone connectivity. This setting has often reset when I receive an update so I headed back into the bluetooth settings to turn off media playback only to find that it no longer exists.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have this weird issue with my newly rooted Droid, whenever I turn on USB Storage, five apps that I have (ShootMe, Factbook, Dictionary.com, TTS for google translate and Battery Gauge Widget) remove themselves from my phone.
I did some searching around my phone and realized that all five of these apps are in a folder called ".android_secure". What can I do about this annoying problem? Can I move them into another folder where all my other apps are or something? Anyone else have a similar problem?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe only thing I miss so far about the iPhone is the ability to use iTunes to manage the app folders and rearrange the layout from my pc. It's much easier when you want to move multiple apps or when you have a large number of apps. It doesn't look like Vies has this feature.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been searching but I couldn't find any app that allows me to delete (either programatically or in an easier way than deleting them one by one) several folders (or the files in them) from my Samsung S3350 (Android 4.1.2). I found Autoremove, but it only works for the Download folder. Before you mention it, no, they are not cache files and a cache cleaner will not be useful for me (I've already have one).
View 5 Replies View RelatedLet's say you have some media on your device that you don't want prying eyes to stumble across in your Gallery. As it is right now Android does a stellar job finding your media and adding it to your gallery. I found this video showing how to hide a folder by renaming the folder using Astro and adding a "." to the beginning of the folder name.

He thought that was so cool but then was quick to ask "why when I make a change in one won't it make the change in the other".
Well I thought about it and it would be a simple matter of syncing the one file to both folders..
So is there an app for that ?
Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
Some folders not showing on pc.
some days ago when i connected my fone to pc most of the sd card folder are shown as shortcuts and when i double click on then windows shows a script error dialog box and the folder opens in a new window....
I can find the folders ok with file managers when i use them on my fone and also found that all those folders have a '.lnk' folder with the same folder name. so i deleted those .lnk files from m sd card using es file manager hoping that it'll fix the problm bt it got worse..
now i can't fin d those folders when connecting to pc.. not even as shortcuts...
I currently have music stored both on my Android phone and on my PC, both are in their own "Music" folders. Previously to sync them I would use Microsoft's SyncToy which allowed me to point it at my Music folder on the PC and the microSD card on the Android device and it would easily and simply sync the two folders.
However now I have a device that only supports MTP which SyncToy does not, I've tried different syncing applications but they too seem to have some issues with the MTP protocol. I'm wondering what's the best way to sync music between my PC and Android phone preferably using USB as my collection is slightly large.
So I have a folder on my home screen, in which I've saved a bunch of navigation shortcuts to use with Google Navigation. I want to know if there is any way to backup this folder to my SD card so that I may restore it after switching over to a new ROM.
