whenever my phone dies and i connect it to the wall charger, it prompts me to choose a connection type, which is ridiculous cuz with the wall charger there is only one type (charge only). the usb icon appears in the top of the screen and won't disappear. how can i remove it? or how can i tell my phone that i've connected it to the wall charger and not to a computer?

The problem exists in the emulator and also on my HTC EVO with 2.2. On my EVO, the icon stays there when the activity is destroyed and only disappears when I uninstall the app. code...
I've got an HTC Magic on Rogers that I rooted and flashed to CM5 stable about a month ago. Everything runs great, except occasionally (sometimes once a day, sometimes more) the radio seems to go into la-la land. The 3G icon will disappear, but I still show bars.... however there is no connectivity. Once it falls into this state it seems to kill the battery quite quickly. The only way to wake it back up is to reboot the phone or to toggle airplane mode on then back off. When CM6 stable came out a few days ago, I thought I would give that a shot and see if it made any difference... unfortunately it didn't (runs great otherwise though!). I'm currently using radio version 3.22.26.17... is there perhaps another version I can try?
I just got looking thru my Network settings and I had 3 APN's listed (Rogers 1, Rogers 2 and Rogers MMS I think). With Rogers 1 selected, it would register and I would get the 3G icon. With Rogers 2, it wouldn't... so I've deleted the Rogers 2 entry.
When I exit out of an app the screen is blank for 30 seconds or so before my widgets and icons reappear. I had it back in November 2009 and I still have it after 2.0.1 and 2.1 and 2.2 and the other 2.2. I see a million threads here and on other forums asking about it. Just checking in to see if there was ever a solution discovered. Like all of you, I can always bring them back with a hard or soft reset.
I'm just wondering if anyone has found a way to prevent it from happening in the first place. I assume that it's related to available memory or processor or something, so every once in a while I think "I'm going to streamline this thing and give it all kinds of available memory" and it doesn't work. I kill all widgets and go to vanilla wallpaper and it still happens. Anyone figure this thing out?
I was wondering if anyone has had the notification icon for weather from Beautiful Widgets disappear? I love the look and animations of the Beautiful Widgets with GDE and I also have the White Hero Theme - looks great. But now there is no Icon for beautiful widgets in the notification bar, even after I switched the setting numerous times.

A strange i'm having is that after the sync is over, the Android still shows the sync icon (the one with the rounded arrow) in the account activity, and that someone (i guess its the account manager) repeatedly calls the sync again and again, every 30 to 60 seconds. Now i tried all sort of things to test this issue and i have discovered something strange. In my code, i do resolver.applyBatch every 50 new rows. (each new contact i sync has about 5 rows). If i remove the applyBatch (which means i retrieve the data from the next, sort it and prepare it, but never "commit" it) - the problem goes away. The icon disappear and the account manager never calls it again on its own (I'm using Android 2.1). I must also state that no exception is being thrown in any of the cases and that all the methods finish gracefully.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI guess I have my first major problem with the phone that I can't seem to figure out. As of last night, the battery icon on the top right of the screen has been showing a "?" symbol instead of the usual colored meter.
I tried charging it and the symbol doesn't change it either. Also, it does not seem to charge. I tried turning my phone on and off...and it doesn't do anything.
I just bought the Droid today and am having problems with the charger/battery? I used it all today after purchasing it until the battery ran down. The entire time the battery icon had a question mark instead of the actual status (which I thought was odd at the time). I plugged in my Droid after it died and it turned on, but it doesn't seem to recognize the charger.
I've had it charging for the past few hours, but I still cannot unplug it without it immediately turning off and the battery level is stuck at 5% (the battery and question mark is still in the corner too). For clarification, when its plugged in to the charger, the phone will turn on and function. As soon as I unplug it, the phone turns off.
So I have a Verizon S3 (unrooted) that is giving me trouble. At times, when I go into the Messaging app, it will show me that I have no sms messages on my phone. In reality, I have tons of them on there. I can even be reading a text, click to go back to the main screen, and then they all just disappear.
Sometimes I can open the Messaging app and it will flicker so I can see all my messages for a split second before it goes to the No Messages screen.When this happens, I have to reboot the phone and then they all show up again. I can also open some other SMS program and it will also show that I have no messages so it's something within the system and not with any specific app.
I just started having an issue this morning with my 4.3 S3 where my Google accounts will sync and the calendars will show up but then they disappear after 10 seconds. They don't even show up as an option to display in the default calendar on the S3. What could be causing this?
View 1 Replies View Relatedi decided to download a bunch of games, i never used enough applications to need to move them to my sd, but since i downloaded a lot of them some started to get installed to the sd and i manually moved some of them too to the sd card. But while i was still downloading more apps, some of them started to show the android icon, and when i tried to run them they crashed. The weird part is that it was just some of them.
phone to reload and see the apps, but that just made it worst since those, and some others went totally missing from the drawer. Is not because the launcher loads before the sd card is read because i already checked that.So i went to settings>applications and discovered that all those applications are listed there but listed with their other name (dont know how to call it, but is like "com.developer.app" ). All of the missing apps are like that and i cant run them.
- I have formatted the sd using gparted, same behavior
- I have formatted the sd and the internal (sd?) with the phone
- I have done a factory reset with no luck
- I have runned fsck in both internal and external sd's
- The files of the applications are in the .android_secure folder in the external sd card "app.asec"
- The sd card is working (files music, everything else is working)
- I dont know what else to do, I want to be able to use my sd card to install apps
I moved those apps to my SD Card.
And when I reboot it, the shortcuts disappear.
Is there a way to not make them disappear? (Don't want moving them back to phone memory.)

Since when did the Custom Backup List feature disappear from CyanogenMod? It's not working with either CM 9 or 10.

I've put a line like this in the file: app/[MY_APP]
It's really not working, the app is gone after a flash. This is not that much of a biggie for me since I usually replace all my custom SystemApps using updater-script in flashable zips, but if this feature is unsupported in CM9+ or if it's just an issue? I doubt it's an unresolved issue when the stable builds are already out.

I just installed CyanogenMod 10 20130110-NIGHTLY to my Motorola Defy+ and I am experiencing this problem:
3 of 4 dock icons disappear after rebooting the phone. It doesn't happen always, just in approximately 50% cases.
Now, it happened after closing and app and returing to launchscreen, plus one widget was gone too It's becoming really annoying, plus I'm having serious issues with connecting to wifi. I guess I'll just start using again Gingerbread that actually works, instead of this piece of... unfinished, not working ...thing

Ive noticed when i either browse my files with Astro or use the phone as a disk drive and manage my files from my computer, all pictures no longer become viewable on the phone after re-mounting and all saved ringtones/notification sounds are removed from the phone. ive tested and re-tested both consistently. I can go into astro and find the pictures in the files. I can do the same on my computer. However, i cannot view the pictures through the gallery app.

1) Pandora - Icon turned to the android and would not load
2) Bible - same as pandora
3) Appbrain - same as pandora
When I checked all apps, they were missing. I went into the android market and reinstalled them. The only thing I have done is move some of my apps to the sd card. Did this cause a problem? I did this over the weekend.
This is my second Nexus. I just purchased a new charge cord because I needed to turn off my nexus to charge properly, and I hated that. But this new cord only did me good for a bit. The problem is the damn thing doesn't charge when it's turned on. It shows the lightning bolt over the battery icon, but in settings shows that charger is not connected. However, when it's turned off it charges, normally. I tried different settings in USB menu: Mass storage, MTP, Camera mode and Charge. Tried with and without Debugging mode. All of those work when connected to a computer in the sense that I can use internal storage, access both SD cards, and so on. But it doesn't charge.
I have tried 3 different cables, 3 wall outlets, and 2 PCs so it's not that. I suppose it's not a hardware problem otherwise it wouldn't charge properly when it's turned off.
So now I use schedule to turn it off before I go to sleep, and to turn on before I wake up, so it would charge while I'm sleeping.
Just got my wife the HTC Desire and whenever we add any contact via phone after sync with Google it simply disappears - it's not in the web either. However, when we add it via google account it stays on both - web and the phone.Anyone's got any idea how to fix that?

The email gets delivered to the phone but as soon as I send/receive in outlook, the emails on my phone disappear even if they have been opened. I want them to stay on m phone until i delete them. View 4 Replies View RelatedOnly 9 songs show up when I open the music on my eris. I added two new songs yesterday and for whatever reason almost all of them don't show up anymore. When my phone is plugged in as a disk drive the files show up when I look through my SD card on the computer, but not on my phone. It's really pissing me off, I've tried restarting my phone multiple times, deleted those two songs I added...nothing has worked. This phone has sucked since the update was released.
