I have a Gionee Pioneer P3. It comes with ZRAM enabled by default. That's over 300MB for ZRAM. I'd like to disable this zram so that I will have more RAM. I ran swapoff /dev/block/zram0 to disable zram. It did get disabled as seen in the screenshot above. However, when I run "free" command, I see that the amount of RAM has not increased.
How can I make the zram partition available to normal RAM?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using the CM Badadroid 4.1.1 ROM with default 120mb zram, but i found it extremely slow on my Samsung Wave II. I added the swap script provided by darklight2k2, however, it does not show in the terminal. The only thing i see is 120mb of zram. I imagine it has priority over the swap script i added, so i am wondering how can i disable it? It seems like in the latest Badadroid version, the zram option in Performance settings has been removed.

I have a problem with Rom Manager (latest ver. + licence). It seems to non stop download "Data" with no reason. RM stores this "Data" in phone memory and can't stop until memory is full! I've checked in "Manage applications" and "Data" in RM is 100 + MB big and growing!
I'm planning on increasing my EXT2 partition space to around 4-5GB as I only have 100mb left of 2.5GB.
Do I have to copy and paste my EXT2 files to my main partition of the SD Card and change the partition size and paste it back into EXT2?
Is it also possible if I do this without having to lose all of my data?
I'm currently working with OpenGL ES 1.1 and using the DrawElements convention along with Vertex, Normal, Texture Coordinate, and Index arrays.

I can generate an object-apace normal map already from my 3D modeler, but what I'm not completely clear on is whether or not the Normal coordinates array will be necessary any longer if implementing a 2nd texture unit for normal mapping, or will Lighting + Color Texture Combined with a Normal map via the DOT3_RGB option be all that is required?
EDIT - After researching DOT3 Lighting a bit further, I'm not sure if the answer given by ognian is correct. This page, [url] gives an example of it's usage and if you look at the "Rendering & Final Result" section bit of code, there is no normal array ClientState for Normal Arrays is never enabled.
I also found this post here,[url] which explains it well... but leads me to another question. In the comments, it's stated that instead of translation of normals, you translate light direction. I'm confused about this as if I have a game with a stationary wall... why would I move the light around just for one model? Hoping someone can give a good explanation of all of this...

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm currently owning a Malaysia production smartphone called ninetology Pearl mini i5350. This device is powered by android v2.3.5, kernel 2.6.38.6-perf, hardware version HW4000-E4B-V1.2. I had tried numerous ways to root my phone but unfortunately all failed.
So far what I had tried:
Super one click root - freeze at step#7
Poot.apk - downloaded ministro ii but nothing happened (no key for me to press update)
srs root - auto root failed
Unlock root - root failed
Universal android root - root failed
Gingerbreak - stuck at rooting process.
I had tried many others but forgotten their names. My purpose of rooting is to increase my internal memory as the phone's internal memory has only 100+mb can be used. If there's any way for me to use sd card memory as my internal memory without rooting my phone that's great enough.
So after rooting my phone. Couple days later i had it charging and decided to turn off my phone and before I knew it. It automatically turn itself back on? Y is that? I am using bb 0.4 p3 kernel 1.0 on blue energy theme.

Now... I use Locale for the following:
- Turning the ringer down when I get to work (obviouse one)
- Turning GPS/Bluetooth/wifi on when I plug it in the phone (think car dock)
- Turn on Wifi when I get near my known hot spots.
- Turn off GPS/Bluetooth/wifi off and turn down brightness when my battery is low.
And the last one is a good one for me...
- I have a GV number. When I call my phone from that number, it turns the ringer volume all the way up and it turns on wifi and GPS. This is my "lost phone aid". It turns on the locating features so I can see where the phone is using iGoogle and Latitude, and I can hear the phone if it is "in the cushions" on vibrate.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a galaxy s2. I tried to send compressed videos via email. Problem is they were still too large and now gmail app isn't working properly. I have done some searching and it looks like my wifi is still trying to send the vids. There are a lot as I tried different compression methods and then resending. I have since deleted the emails which were all 'sending' but still have the problem.
Is there a way for me to get things back to normal? I can't delete the account without deleting all my phones user data as well and I would really like to avoid doing this if possible.
How to get my tab back to normal operations.After changing fonts it req for restarting and it's just hanging at booting process. Try to recover but it doesn't work. View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I first bought it, I was not happy with the features it was offering so I searched and found out about the CM7(Cyanogenmod 7) mod, and decided that I wanted to try out a modded phone. I've been using CM7 for a few years now and have just plain become unhappy with what they're putting out and decided that I finally wanted my phone back to being normal and rooted. I booted into my clockworkmod(after backing up all apps/data with TitaniumBackup pro & taking pics/vids/etc off through USB) and decided to wipe my sdcard and all other options that Clockworkmod offers. After doing that I realized I made a horrible mistake...every time I go to reboot my phone, it ends up back at the boot menu and at the top it says "Fastboot Mode - No boot or recovery IMG" how would I go about resetting my phone back to a normal OS without being able to transfer stuff onto it without it being booted and having a USB option.

View 9 Replies View RelatedFirstly I want to clarify that I am NOT talking about a normal battery drainage caused by background apps, foreground apps, enabled wifi, bluetooth, google background activities, synchronisation, facebook, google location settings, any antivirus app or something of that kind. There are plenty of threads about that and google search is full of this topic. I am talking about something else when it comes to sudden and quick battery drainage.
It already happened to me a couple of times when I use the built in projector of my phone (samsung galaxy beam). So I watch a movie on the projector and it takes let say.. around 30 percent of my battery life. After I turn the projector off, close all foreground and background activities I wait like a minute or 2 and the battery status drops from lets say 28 to 20. This is normal as the battery status somehow needs some time to get "updated". So after every single fore- and background activity is closed and I got 20% battery left I go to bed. Then in the morning I look at my phone and its dead meaning the battery dropped to 0 causing the phone to turn off. And thats not normal for me. (I do hear the sound of very low battery in the early morning meaning it doesnt turn off within 1 hour which would mean faulty battery) First I was thinking that this problem might be caused by previously overheating the battery but I checked the temperature and here all is fine. Also both batteries are not too old and still work normally (beside the described problem). I may add that using the projector itself is not an "extreme" usage of the battery. When I use the projector, play an HD android game connected to my ps3 controller ...that is a different story.
So my question is what could cause this rapid battery percentage drop even tho the phone has no activity at all and sleeps. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it does not tho..If I would not use the projector then I loose around 2-3 percent overnight, if I use it then I sometimes loose 20% without doing anything. And thats not normal. Maybe android somehow thinks that there is still activity even tho there isn't. Like a virtual activity making the battery think its in use and therefore draining it.

Dumb ass, I'm using the inbuilt speaker on the phone. While for the most part, this is fine, I would like to increase the volume slightly. Obviously not enough to blow the speaker. I know there's an app/mod for the headphones volume, but what about the speakers volume? Anyway of increasing that?
