I've tried "File Manager" that comes with PC companion but whenever I click "Start" it just opens an explorer windows with the following path "C:Program FilesSony EricssonSony Ericsson PC Companion" and I never see my phone mapped as drive in windows?So how do I transfer a file to the phone (without having to to take out the SD card and place that into a USB slot via the converter (to much hassle))I'm not interested in syncing playlists or music via Media Go, I want to use the phone as a USB stick!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had DC 2.08.1 installed for about 2 weeks with no issues. I decided to go ahead and partition the SD to utilized apps2SD as I was having memory issues. That process, while not smooth, went through okay and the SD card is working with the partition and apps2SD. However, ever since that was completed, my Windows 7 box no longer recognizes the phone either as a phone or as a drive. My Linux laptop recognizes the drive without issue.
Any suggestions on how I can reintroduce my phone to the Windows box, at least as a drive?
i just want to try windows phone OS and for that i dont care if i have to drop my android os. Is there any way of installing windows phone OS on my android? I am using a SE live with walkman
View 5 Replies View RelatedI would like to be able to synchronize Contacts, Tasks, Calendars, and Texts between my PC and my Andoid phone. I would like to do this without using Google, since Google stores the stuff on their servers.
At the moment, my email resides on a server we own in a NOC.
I use Thunderbird with Lightning on my PC which gives me email, tasks, calendar, and contacts in one interface.
I then use MyPhoneExplorer to Sync with my Android. This gives me tasks, calendar, and contacts synchronized, but all in separate interfaces and then I've got K-9 for email which is again separate.
What I'd like is an email client that included tasks, calendar, and integrated properly with contacts on both my PC and my Android.
I'm willing to use pretty much any software on the PC and on the Android, but I've found nothing that does this cleanly.
My tasks are email centric, meaning that I create tasks out of emails because that's how I get work requests.
I'm willing to use any combination of apps on my PC and on my Android, but the ideal solution would be one applications for all of it which integrated nicely with the Android phone contact list.
Can I Install Windows Mobile 6.5 on any android phone ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe phone and cables are good as I can get HTC Sync to work on my old PC and this one worked just a few weeks ago and I can even get it to work in a VMware session. But for whatever reason the phone just keeps showing up as Unknown and is put under Other devices as “Android phone”. On the other PC and in the VMware it is added as "My HTC" under Android USB Devices in Device Manager.
I’ve tried a bunch of uninstalling and rebooting and so on but something on my new Windows 7 PC is stuck when connecting the phone. It thinks it has no driver for it but it does. If I try and point any of the HTC INF files Windows just says they are not for this device.
I've had a few people receive my texts late, but have always thought the issue was more likely them just not seeing the notifications. But then one took 2 days to arrive on a friend's phone! We're both on Android (I'm on a Nexus 4 running Kit Kat), though I'm on Telus and I believe he's on Wind Mobile. As an FYI, the day of the 2-day-delay I was using Handcent as my SMS app, but in the past I was using the stock SMS app. is the extra delay caused by my SMS app, my OS/phone or my carrier?

I have just bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 - very nice looking device - to replace my old and clunky Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. And I want to transfer all my phone contacts across. On my Xperia, I've got "Phone contacts", and gmail contacts. I tried to import all my phone contacts by first exporting them to a simgle file, and transferring that file to the Samsung. And now I've got this vast list containing, it seems, everybody who I've ever called or emailed, including various names who I don't recognize at all. Is there any way (maybe a specialized app) of keeping my phone contacts and gmail contacts separate? And how do I manage my vast list of contacts?

I recently moved to Sprint, where I have an HTC Hero on the way soon. I'm curious if the Google account I originally used with my Nexus One is linked to the applications I've already purchased and if by using that same account when my Hero arrives if I will be able to install those same applications w/o having to repurchase them. It will be my first Android phone and I'm looking forward to it! I have one simple question about this transition. I already have a Google account and have all my contacts saved there. I read a post a while back on here that if you don't have your phone numbers formatted in a certain way in your contact list, it may cause issues when transferring them to a new Android phone (multiple entries, missing entries, etc.).
Maybe that wasn't a correct statement, but I wanted to ask the question anyway. Are Android phones picky about phone number formats? For example, should I save them online as xxx-xxx-xxxx or maybe 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx instead? Or should I not save them with any hyphens? I just want a seamless transition of my contacts from my Google account to the new phone without a bunch of re-typing or deleting, etc.
I'm just about to take the plunge and move over to a Droid device and wanted to know if there is a process that I can move my contacts from my Windows Phone7.5 device over to a new Android phone. I'm looking at moving from an HTC Arrive up to a Note2. I know my contacts and such are on my Windows Skydrive and I also know that there is a Skydrive app for Android but I don't know if there's a way to allow it to sync over like it does on my WP.
View 5 Replies View Related when I connect my Sony Xperia T to my home computer, the ADB driver will be installed properly. When I connect the same phone to my work computer, Windows just doesn't want to accept the drivers. The following things are equal:
- USB debugging is always on on the phone
- Both computer are running Windows 7 64bit
- On both computers I am pointing the Windows driver installation at the same folder with drivers downloaded from Sony.
The thing that is different is the device ID that Windows reports in the Details dialogue from Device manager:
On the home PC it is:
USBVID_0FCE&PID_5182&REV_0228&MI_01
USBVID_0FCE&PID_5182&MI_01
On the other PC where things go wrong it is:
USBVID_0FCE&PID_5182&REV_0228
USBVID_0FCE&PID_5182
So it seems Windows is not recognizing the phone as a composite device (MI is it multiplexing identifier?). I double checked that USB debugging is always on and also rebooted Windows.
Ive hooked my phone up to my pc so many times without error when I had Windows on my PC...and used ODIN to flash back to stock after a mishap.... I cant even count.. within last two weeks Ive moved to ubuntu instead of windows..I set up everything on my phone on ubuntu..sdk and everything...so Ive been building a rom for the fassy and i was testing something I made and something went wrong..so I now have no recovery..no way to get my phone back..Im up and running on the rom but it will not due ( no gaaps ) . So when i plug my phone into a windows pc it will not recognize it for ODIN...in device manager it labelled as " Linux file-cd gadget USB device" and cant install the driver to use ODIN.

I just bought a LG Nexus 5.With the iPhone, I could easily transfer all my data and backup my phone via iTunes. I've tried searching the web for similar software for android, and I have not really been able to find an iTunes replacement. I noticed that HTC and Samsung have sync managers, but I haven't been able to find one for LG. Also, I would prefer if I could find something that doesn't require cloud storage, as I like to have my backups and files locally on my Mac.
