Sep 14, 2010Have they come up with a way to transfer texts from a Blackberry to HTC Incredible yet? I heard sprite mobile had a solution. I am coming from a BB Storm 2 and I am feeling kind of sad leaving my Blackberry mostly because of Blackberry Messenger!

Phone security - I've just moved from my Sony Ericsson C510 and have had other SE phones over the last 4 or 5 years and all have had the option to have a SIM lock and a phone lock, so basically you enter two pins at startup. I have managed to set the SIM lock on my X10 so it asks for a code at each startup, but the only other options I see for a lock are the pattern drawing thing, which admittedly I haven't attempted to set up yet. Is there anything where I can enter a code-based phone lock like on my old C510?
2. I have managed to transfer all of my contacts from my C510 using the send-all option over bluetooth, but is there anything I can do to transfer all of my texts to the X10?
3. Wallpaper. On all of my previous SE phones, it has always given me the option to use either a standard picture size or a maximised size for my phone wallpapers. On the X10 it forces me to crop my picture to a size which is not ideal! (e.g - if i wanted a pic of someone as my wallpaper, it would probably just cover their eyes!) To make this worse, once the selection is selected, the wallpaper is horribly zoomed and blocky. Surely I am doing something wrong and this can be resolved??
4. Where is the file system? Unlike my previous phones there is no file manager.
5. Is it possible to switch apps when they are running? If I am running an App, Opera for example, and I press the back/home buttons, the only way I can get back to opera is to goto the main menu and click on it. Surely it should be running in the tray at the top (like ebuddy does when I run that, even after I've pressed back/home

Dec 8, 2013I would like to be able to synchronize Contacts, Tasks, Calendars, and Texts between my PC and my Andoid phone. I would like to do this without using Google, since Google stores the stuff on their servers.
At the moment, my email resides on a server we own in a NOC.
I use Thunderbird with Lightning on my PC which gives me email, tasks, calendar, and contacts in one interface.
I then use MyPhoneExplorer to Sync with my Android. This gives me tasks, calendar, and contacts synchronized, but all in separate interfaces and then I've got K-9 for email which is again separate.
What I'd like is an email client that included tasks, calendar, and integrated properly with contacts on both my PC and my Android.
I'm willing to use pretty much any software on the PC and on the Android, but I've found nothing that does this cleanly.
My tasks are email centric, meaning that I create tasks out of emails because that's how I get work requests.
I'm willing to use any combination of apps on my PC and on my Android, but the ideal solution would be one applications for all of it which integrated nicely with the Android phone contact list.

Nov 11, 2012I have a mobile banking app on my phone. The app is in the store and can be downloaded, but it has to be activated in order to be able to use it. So every time time I change the phone (and I do that once or twice a year), I have to go to the bank to get the code. I understand that this is a security measure. However, I'm so sick of this, that I'd like to try solving it.
Now, I'd like to be able to transfer that app to another phone without going to the bank/getting the new code. Is there a way to do this?

But then one took 2 days to arrive on a friend's phone! We're both on Android (I'm on a Nexus 4 running Kit Kat), though I'm on Telus and I believe he's on Wind Mobile. As an FYI, the day of the 2-day-delay I was using Handcent as my SMS app, but in the past I was using the stock SMS app. is the extra delay caused by my SMS app, my OS/phone or my carrier?

So, I wanted to know how can I transfer game data like candy crush and other games to a different phone? I mean if I were to reinstall that game on another device using the same google play info, will game data transfer over? Meaning, evel and top score?
I have a spare smartphone with limited ROM; but larger than the THL T100S, the Pomp w89. The two are nearly identical, except the pomp has slightly more ROM. (The Pomp w89 was a gift to my dad but he didn't like it, preferred a physical keyboard.)

Nov 25, 2012I have a droid x, but over the weekend I got a razr maxx. What is the best way to transfer the data I want to keep, while not transferring data I don't need onto my new phone. My sd card seems to have a lot of files on it other than just my pictures and videos. I have titanium backup with all of my apps and data backed up. Should I only backup and restore user apps? Or I should I backup and restore user apps + system apps? My main concern is transferring things I don't need on my new phone. I don't want to clutter it up with useless files and data from old apps.

Feb 25, 2012I am going to get a Droid Razr Maxx soon. I have the doubletwist app for my music on my current phone, the droid 2 global. On doubletwist all my music is there, but the file is not there for that song on my computer (this is the case for about 300 songs). These songs, without the file on my computer, play perfectly fine on my phone so will I be fine to get my new phone and go home and open doubletwist and sync the music to my new phone without any problems?

There ARE android software to recover and view content on the computer. The problem (I haven't downloaded any of these software tho) is that they all seem to require the phone be read from the computer. But when the phone was set to CHARGE, when you connect the cable it just tries to charge the batter in the phone rather than DISK MODE.

I'm going to transfer my songs and videos manually via connecting my USB cable to the computer, I just don't want to mess up the other bits.

Additional info- My current phone is the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V (rooted) running ICS 4.0.4.

Copying the simple contact info is easy via the Gmail export/import procedure, but that does not copy the attached photos. Is there a simple way of copying contacts complete with photos?

Feb 12, 2013My wifes ZTE Blade 1 phone broke (graphics chip broke) but have a spare ZTE Skate. Luckily I have a clockworkmod image of the broken phone & have extracted the data from it to get the mmssms.db & telephony.db files.
However, when I paste them over the exsiting files (have root etc) & reboot I get force close errors & have to replace the old files back.
There is no way to boot the old phone & backup the messages - the only way to get the messages back is to get the mmssms.db to work.

Nov 3, 2013I have recently got a Samsung S4 after being an Apple person. I went straight to Winamp as I use it at home on my PC and love it, and want to keep it consistent. I am able to import my iTunes library into Winamp on my pc without issue. It is when I go to copy it onto my phone that I have problems. I right click on the folder/playlist I want to move across, select Send To -> Devices -> Galaxy S4 and it appears to copy. However, when I check on my phone, the playlist shows as <name>.pla and there is no music in the playlist. Only if I click on Songs in the main menu does it show the songs, but of course all together and in alphabetical order. Is there a step I am missing out on here? I was looking to upgrade to the full version, but at this stage, I'm not willing to go any further unless I can get this resolved.
And trust me, I want to keep using this program; just annoyed that I can't get it to work properly on the phone as it's the best and only player I use on my PC.

Jan 20, 2014I bought a bluetooth dongle on Amazon (ORICO BTA 403, CSR8510 A10 chipset) and installed it on my Windows 7 x64 computer.
The dongle installs fine and works perfectly with all my older phones but not with my Xperia S running Android 4.1.2.
Basically, if I install the automatic windows driver, and pair with the phone, windows complains about no drivers for the device, and I can't do anything with it.
If I install the supplied software (CSR Harmony wireless software stack) I can pair and the Xperia S is installed properly, the various audio services work (I can stream music to PC using BT), but I still can't send or receive files, either from PC to Phone or from Phone to PC.
The connection times out after a second and gives me a connectivity error. It's like the phone refuses to connect to the PC, both when transferring and receiving.
I don't know if the phone is the problem, it seems to not work only when doing file transfers with PC, if I try to transfer files to other phones or to my mac (which has built in BT) it works fine.
Any way to troubleshoot this issue to tell if the problem comes from the phone or the dongle? By the way, using Airdroid instead of BT is not a fix.
