I have only had my HTC Desire for a couple of days and I love it however this is my first 'android' phone so I am still finding my way around doing things. I wanted to transfer music from my PC to my phone so I linked up my phone with the PC using the USB cable and dragged the files from my desktop to the J drive which I assume is my phone but the music does not appear to be in my music folder, I assume that I have to do something else to get it from the SD card to my phone but what

I am taking my 16gig card in my moto droid and going to use in my new incredible when i get it next week.
My question is, will i need to do anything special to the data (music/movies/pictures) when transferring to the incredible?
I'm having some major issues after upgrading from my old Class 2 (Samsung) 16 GB SD card to a new 64 GB class 10. The card seems fine, holds data and can read/write just fine.
I was able to transfer over everything in the ANDROID folder, but when it comes to pictures and other odds and ends, I can transfer them all PC side, but when I plug it into the phone, the files are either all deleted, all corrupt (and then deleted by the file system) or partially corrupt. It is tested while in the PC and the files are not corrupt.
I even tried doing a direct image from the old SD card to the new. (using HDD raw copy tool). Verified all files were there to the kilobyte - Put the SD card in phone and poof! Most of the files, especially everything under DCIM, gone.
Is this a 4.4 issue? A transfer method issue? Or possibly a card issue? I am on Verizon GS5 and cannot root, but want to store as much of my data on the SD card as possible..
I must admit I have never fully embraced Bluetooth technology.I do not have a wireless Bluetooth headset, or any other such device. When my wife and I both had Blackberry Pearls we paired them with Bluetooth but could never do anything with it.Now I am trying to use my Eve with my PC.I paired the two devices through droid successfully. Now I want to transfer music via Bluetooth from my PC to my phone. When I try it though, it fails.Actually, when I go to my PC program for transferring data to other Bluetooth enabled devices, my paired Eve isn't even a choice on the list. When I try to just send it using Bluetooth directly from the windows explorer (right click on the files and choose Send, then Bluetooth) it doesn't work either.Anyone else able to transfer files with Bluetooth from their Eve? I really want this to work since I am having issues with connecting via usb with my laptop (won't stay mounted)

I already have music on it that i transfered from my computer. I plug it in via USB open up the SD card Folder and then the music folder which is showing all my other music. I then dragged in what i wanted into the folder and its showing there. Now here comes my problem. After moving the music i want into the music folder i unmount my phone. It shows the SD card prepping in the top left corner then i open my music player and my new stuff isn't there. I remount my phone and open the music folder and the files i just put in there aren't there either.Oh one thing i did notice while looking through settings and what not, i noticed when i go to the music folders properties it's showing as read only...im guessing this could be the reason but if i turn it off read only and close the property tab and then reopen it its back on read only. I'm at a total loss at what to do.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm getting my new lg mytouch in a couple days and i'd like to have some music to listen to. I know how to create folders, etc., but i have a question. In all the guides i looked up, people said to use a usb cable and "mount" the device, then transfer the music. My computer has a microSD card slot built in, so I can put the memory card right in the computer and transfer files to it. Will this work to listen to music?

I don't have an external microSD only the internal one, and I just can't figure out how to get anyone on it. Kies mode doesn't work, and mass storage doesn't see the internal. How can I put my music on? I'm sure it can't be that big of a problem...
View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to transfer some iTunes music files over to my Galaxy S2. I've done this before but can't figure what I did to make it happen again.
I'm pretty sure that last time I did this I just connected the Galaxy to the iMac using a regular USB cable which then showed up on the background of the Mac as a media device. I then just clicked on the music I wanted to transfer in iTunes and dragged that over to the device. Simple as. Now however, when I connect the phone to the Mac it doesn't show up at all. On the phone itself it says "connected as a media device" but as I say, no sign of it on the Mac. I've tried several different cables and USB ports with same result.
I am having difficulty transferring music that I bought via the amazon mp3 store from my droid to my computer (a mac) and itunes. I know how to connect/mount my droid to the computer, and have successfully transferred amazon mp3's that I purchased in the past. Just recently, I began experiencing problems. When I try to drag and drop, I get error messages saying that the file cannot be transferred because it is "in use." Or when I attempt to drag and drop to itunes, basically itunes freezes and I have to force quit.
View 3 Replies View Relatedmy Galaxy S4. My service is through Sprint and all apps and system updates are done. While I understand the latest system update has a lot of problems, the one issue I have had has been going on for quite some time. My music player autostarts. The player I am referring to is the 'MUSIC' app (the one where the icon looks like a blue circle and has a green musical note on it.) The trigger seems to be when I get calls from a blocked number. My company's outgoing calls are automatically blocked so each time I get a call from a coworker my phone launches into whatever song I last played instead of ringing. It doesn't matter if the phone was muted - the volume is on so everyone gets to hear the latest tune. Along with the unexpected musical interlude, I don't get any indication of the incoming call.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy tags (album names, artists, etc) won't edit or save on my music within my SD card. It shows perfectly fine on my laptop, computer, and iPod. Yet, simple things like merging albums together, renaming artists from "the" to "The" will not show on my Galaxy S5.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure I get Google and the Android strategy regarding music. Android has largely removed support for SD cards. Most phone makers are no longer including SD cards. It would appear that for large music libraries, Google wants us to use the cloud, yet....... I can't do a simple voice command to play music stored in the cloud rather than on the device. The results come back with "no results found". The only time it finds the music is when it is actually on the device.
So, I can either constantly have to manually manage a play list (since 32gig is not nearly enough space) or not use voice commands. I don't get it.
I currently have 3059 songs on my iTunes, and only 3046 of it was uploaded meaning that only 13 songs weren't uploaded.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a friend at work who has a cheapie smartphone running vanilla Android and whenever he has his phone playing on the dock his lockscreen displays the audio levels behind the password prompt.
Audiophiles, I don't know the correct term for it, but it's all those little lines that go up for each frequency range. The treble side is on the left, bass is on the right. The background is black, the levels thing is a light blue-ish color.
I know he uses Play Music and he has a Pattern Lock, but so far I haven't been able to replicate it on my phone. My phone is a Galaxy S4 with 4.4.2 and the latest Play Music, swipe unlock, and a static picture as the background.I see no options for the levels thing in Play Music nor in my lockscreen settings. Is this something only in vanilla Android that Samsung tossed out?I think it looks really cool; better than the square album artwork awkwardly cropped to fit a rectangular screen.
If this is something vanilla only, are there any good free equivalents in the Play Store you'd recommend? How about compatibility with Rocket Player?
So I originally had a Nexus One on T-Mobile, hated their service, cancelled, and sold the Nexus One for essentially what I bought it for. I recently moved to Sprint, where I have an HTC Hero on the way soon. I'm curious if the Google account I originally used with my Nexus One is linked to the applications I've already purchased and if by using that same account when my Hero arrives if I will be able to install those same applications w/o having to repurchase them. It makes sense in my mind as they were not sold with the Nexus One as the phone was wiped, but I'm not sure if that's the way it will work. Any incite?

Long story short, I needed to cancel the transfer in the middle and remove my phone. Now my phone is freezing like mad, and I absolutely can't connect to my computer (not to mention that freezes it completely.) Removing the SD card seems to help, but not much. Anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm just trying to transfer the pictures I've taken on the Droid X so far to my PC. However, when I plug the phone into my laptop (via provided USB cable), the only two options I get are:
Install Motorola Driver
Open Folder to View Files
Okay, should be the second option. But when I click on this (Open Folder), the only folder options I get are things like: Autorun, Config, Setup, etc.). No "folders" per se.
I'm going to root my wifes phone today. Was wondering if I can run unrevoked on her phone then just transfer one of my nandroid backups to get her up and running quickly. Been using a virtuous Rom.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm currently a Blackberry 8330 user and will be upgrading to either the Droid X or Droid 2 later this Summer. It will be my first Android phone and I'm looking forward to it! I have one simple question about this transition. I already have a Google account and have all my contacts saved there. I read a post a while back on here that if you don't have your phone numbers formatted in a certain way in your contact list, it may cause issues when transferring them to a new Android phone (multiple entries, missing entries, etc.).
Maybe that wasn't a correct statement, but I wanted to ask the question anyway. Are Android phones picky about phone number formats? For example, should I save them online as xxx-xxx-xxxx or maybe 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx instead? Or should I not save them with any hyphens? I just want a seamless transition of my contacts from my Google account to the new phone without a bunch of re-typing or deleting, etc.
Want to put some video's on my X10. i don't have to take my sd card out all the time.
