View 7 RepliesI have the google drive application on my desktop so that I store all my files both on my pc and in the cloud, but is there a way to have google drive on my phone and to automatically upload pictures I take using the phones camera but not to have all my files downloaded and synced to my phone as I don't need to have all my files in three places, is there a way of using my phone to view all of my files and possibly download them as if they were on my phone but not actually have them sitting there taking up all my space
so it would be like having the gallery I currently have and being able to view all my photos pretty much as normal but instead it is all stored online
when I say files I only mean photos and videos.
just trying out Google Play Music today. I'm confused though as I have around 10000 music files sitting in a folder on Google drive. I can't see an option to ask Google Play Music to look into Google Drive and upload the music from there. I have connected my Google play music app on my nexus 7 to my Google account' but nothing seems to happen. Surely Google is able to connect two parts of its cloud together and I don't have to re upload everything?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just uploaded a 1.5GB file to my Drive by mistake, now I can't cancel it except by rebooting my phone. If I start up the Drive app the upload restarts. I explored the Drive app but it seems there's no way to cancel an on-going upload.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an android phone (Moto Droid Mini XT1030, though i wouldn't think it should matter) and i want the pictures i take with it to automatically be sent to a folder on my PC everytime i am connected to a wifi network. Currently they automatically go to Google+ which is of debatable value. Sometimes Google products are fantastic and other times they seem to be missing such blatantly obvious features that it makes me crazy... but i digress.
I don't want to install any 3rd party apps if at all possible, especially on the PC. I already have G Drive installed on the PC and a drive folder would be sufficient (as opposed to a conventional folder on the PC) if that's easier to accomplish.
I finally found how to stop this tool from uploading pics automatically. I was so relieved to find this solution because Picasa was starting to upload pics that I don't even remember taking.
On your phone: go to---->
1) settings
2) accounts and sync
3) click on your gmail account
4) uncheck Sync Picasa Web Albums (and for good measure if you want also uncheck Sync Instant Upload and Sync Google Photos)
5) now hit back and sync all
Now go into your gallery and the folder that says 'Instant Upload' should be gone.
I have a Nexus 4 and Nexus 7.I am trying to sync all my Google Drive photos with my Google + account. In Google + I have checked the box to allow Google Drive to sync with Google Drive. Most of the pictures show up in Google + without a problem. Some however, do not. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to this either. All of my photo folders. It doesn't seem to be related to one format or another. (Ex. One JPG file is there and another isn't)

I have some photos in my drop box that I would like to send to my google drive so I can just get rid of drop box. Is this process as simple as copying and pasting the photos from my drop box folder to my google drive folder or will I lose picture quality?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a bunch of MP3s in Google Drive, and I'd like to be able to play them on my Android. The problem is that when I play an MP3 on the phone, no matter what app I choose to use to play it (and I've tried a bunch!) the MP3 opens in such a way that if I then switch to another app, playback stops. In other words, the Google Drive MP3 won't play in the background.
Is there any way to make MP3s play from Google Drive in such a way that they WILL play in the background? I've found some awkward workaround to do this -- like downloading the MP3 from the Google Drive web app, or like pinning the MP3 in the Google Drive Android app and then using an Android file manager to find the file and copy it to a folder that the music player searches -- but I really wish there was a better way!!! I am looking for an app with the following functions:
- backup selected folders to Google Drive
or
- backup complete phone to Google Drive
Possibility to schedule backup
Possibility to select to backup only over wifi
I have searched in Google play, but most apps:
- only backup sms, contacts and stuff like that, but now specific, self selected folders
or
- do not have a backup to Google Drive function
or
- can not schedule the backup
Is there any app which can do that?
I know there are many apps that let you upload pics and text to your personal profile on facebook....but I've been looking and I cant find a way to do that with facebook groups. Im the admin of a facebook group and so far I have not found a way to update the group page.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been having an issue with both Google Drive and Dropbox.
I have all my roms, odin restore things, apk files, custom ringtones all stored in Google Drive, previously in Dropbox (I didn't like having to re-login each time I restored the app and data when I installed a new rom). I also store the actually folders themselves on my Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Tab 10.1, both on 4.0.4.
But my issue is that, whenever I download a file (.apk and .epub are the ones I tried because I was trying to install an app and add an ebook to the nook app.) it doesn't download correctly or something, because my .apks all say "Parsing error" and the Nook app tells me it can't open my ebooks even though, I can open both on my computer (Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit, service pack 1). This happens on both my Galaxy Nexus and Tab, on both dropbox and Google Drive. Both Google Drive and Dropbox say they have synced the files correctly.
I realized it was Google Drive and Dropbox, because when I transferred the files directly from my computer to the each device, they worked. The app installed, and the ebook opened,.
Can I move an SD card from my Canon dSLR to an Android phone and view / upload the pics? I'm a sports photographer on a budget (so another $30 data plan for a laptop is out), so that functionality for select photos would be great. I'm planning to upgrade to an android phone once the Incredible comes to Verizon.

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust bought this sprint samsung moment a few weeks ago, and I was wondering why I can't upload mobile pics from my phone to facebook. I have the facebook app on my phone and it does not seem to let me upload mobile pic's. In order for me to upload pic's I have to go to the mobile version of facebook and upload the pic via some email wich then post the pic for u, but the problem is it seems to post my pic's side ways.
I know lots of folks with other phones some of them crappy that just click on the photo and select upload to facebook....why can't I do that on this phone? Why does this phone not give me the option to upload from the pic? Why does the facebook app FOR android not let me upload photo's?
I took a picture today and I tried to go through my normal route to upload to facebook with the share button when looking at the picture. The facebook option is not there. This happened after I force updated to 2.2.Any ideas on what to do?
View 8 Replies View RelatedApologies if there is a thread about this already (couldn't find it)... I used to be able to upload a mobile pic directly to Facebook and it would show on my wall/in my friends' feeds. Lately, my pics go directly to my "Mobile Pics" album, and do not show on my wall unless I publish the entire album again. I've checked my Facebook settings, and everything is set to 'Publish Content to my Wall", but my mobile pics continue to get uploaded directly to the album and do not publish. Anyone else having trouble with this? I'm not sure if it's a problem with the phone, the FB app, or my Facebook settings.

View 2 Replies View RelatedLooking for an app that will automatically upload photos and videos to my PC since the last time I uploaded. i.e. I want to be able to come home, flip the wifi button on the droid and have it auto sync all the photos and videos I've taken to my pictures and video directory that were taken since the last time I synced. Looking in the market and can't find anything obvious that would do this.

Also, when I get a picture message, it doesn't automatically download the picture. It notifies me, and then I have to manually click "download"
View 17 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to upload just 1 or 2 songs to the Google Music app? Also I am debating to whether or not to just delete everything on my Google Play list and then just reupload my whole iTunes Library so it mimicks that?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to upload my music to Google Music, and I ran into an issue yesterday when I saw that it stopped uploading. I had it running for about a week and I have roughly 3700 songs on my computer (in iTunes). It stopped at around 2400 songs and won't add anymore, and I'm not entirely sure why. Of those 3700 songs, only about 300 were purchased from iTunes, the rest are CDs or songs that I permanenly borrowed during the Napster days. I double checked the songs that are missing, and there really isn't too much rhyme or reason as to why they're not there.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue syncing my contacts. I have my phone set to sync contacts with my Google account; however, whenever I add new contacts to the phone they are never added to my Google account. I will press sync now and everything (including contacts) will claim to have successfully synced although my newly added contacts from the phone remain local (on the phone but not on my Google account). Why won't my contacts get automatically added/uploaded?

How google + select files for instant upload?
Will it upload new movies transferred to the device via USB transfer mode to the google + gallery?
Currently I see that the wallpapers I download gets uploaded to google +, but if this happens to movies, that is bad.
I'm a Google+ user, but I don't have the app installed, but I noticed in my gallery that EVERY image I have uploaded to G+ is still syncing to my phones gallery. Now I now that G+ stores all the images you upload to it to Picasa, but is there a way to not sync the G+ albums to my phones gallery?
