View 7 RepliesCan i stream my whole audio-output from my android device via a random protocol to my PC?
View 7 RepliesI'm developing for the Android platform.
My app creates a temp file with a simple call to:
FileOutputStream fos = openFileOutput("MY_TEMP.TXT",Mode);
It works fine because I can write to it and read it normally.
The problem is that when I exit from the app I want to delete this file. I used:
File f = new File(System.getProperty("user.dir"),"MY_TEMP.TXT");
f.delete()
But it always returns false and the file is not deleted.
I have tried
File f = new File("MY_TEMP.TXT");
f.delete();
And it does not work either.
Please give me a clue, to pass CTS. I'm try to do CTS test. The Android 1.5 r3 which I get from Android Open Source fails CTS. Mean while, if I download Android 1.5 r3 and run CTS test for emulator it's PASS. the module fail CTS is: java.io.OutputStreamWriterTest I run test with follow string: start --plan Java -t tests.api.java.io.OutputStreamWriterTest#test_write$C I found that java.io.OutputStreamWriterTest class belongs to core.jar I compared sizes of core.jar build by me and build by Google, and it's different for 362 bytes. I'm completely frustrated. What's I'm doing wrong! For building we use: Java jdk: 1.5.0_16 Ubuntu version: 8.04 All others libs installed as mentioned on the http://source.android.com/download. Building by command: make or make sdk Error log:
<FailedScene message="junit.framework.AssertionFailedError: Error when reading bytes in UTF-8 expected:"8916"; but was:"8907"; at tests.api.java.io.OutputStreamWriterTest.test_write$C (OutputStreamWriterTest.java:470)"> <Stack Trace>at tests.api.java.io.OutputStreamWriterTest.test_write$C (OutputStreamWriterTest.java:470) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) at android.test.AndroidTestRunner.runTest(AndroidTestRunner.java:164) at android.test.AndroidTestRunner.runTest(AndroidTestRunner.java:151) at android.test.InstrumentationTestRunner.onStart (InstrumentationTestRunner.java:418) at android.app.Instrumentation$InstrumentationThread.run (Instrumentation.java:1520) at tests.api.java.io.OutputStreamWriterTest.test_write$C (OutputStreamWriterTest.java:470) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) at android.test.AndroidTestRunner.runTest(AndroidTestRunner.java:164) at android.test.AndroidTestRunner.runTest(AndroidTestRunner.java:151) at android.test.InstrumentationTestRunner.onStart (InstrumentationTestRunner.java:418) at android.app.Instrumentation$InstrumentationThread.run (Instrumentation.java:1520) </Stack Trace>
I am looking to develop an application and would like to know if the earpiece audio output can be captured.

Is it possible to force Android to output ONLY stereo over a HDMI connection?
My Denon receiver initially receives a stereo signal from my Asus TF700 tablet, but after a few minutes the tablet starts outputting a 7.1 signal (3 front, 4 surround, 1 LFE). I've tried modifying audio_policy.conf but it hasn't seemed to make a difference. Is there anything else I can try, or a tutorial on how to add a limited 'hdmi' entry to the audio_policy.conf?
I use music application (PlayerPro) and a time (LafayChrono). Problem, the clock application serves medias volumes output, not the alarm volumes output. So, I can not set the volume independently of one another.
My question is, if it is possible to "root" the sound output of an app to another type of volume (LafayChrono to alarm volumes output) ?
When I connect my Droid RAZR MAXX or ASUS Transformer to my HD monitor, the video displays fine, but there is no sound. I suspect this is because the monitor does not have any speakers, but I was hoping there would be a way to just let the audio play from the device. That's what my laptop does when connected via VGA (which might not support audio anyway; I don't know a lot about the different inputs/outputs).
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust (finally) got 4.1 on my One X, and I've been trying out Google Now but there's one thing bugging me. When it gives me the search results, there's no "speech output". I know that this is because my language setting for the app is "English UK", and it'll only output speech when it's set to "English US". However when it's set to the US variant it doesn't recognise my voice very well, obviously because I have a British accent.
My question is: Is there a way to enable speech output on Google Now without setting the language setting to "English US"?
I have searched a lot over google etc. about knowing if the smartphones with HDMI output capability actually outputs 720p or 1080p on HDTV or it is just that the screen resolution is upscaled to HD..
I can understand that all HD games are high in graphics but they are not actually 720p resolution certainly..but i am talking about HD movies which are of 1280*720 resolution which plays on my xperia neo v like a true HD video with high density of my screen with bravia engine enabled it looks awesome on my mobile..
But my query is when I connect it to HDTV by HDMI cable provided with xperia neo V...the same HD (1280*720) does not seems to be like HD..So is it that it outputs the mobile screen resolution by upscaling even in the case of HD files ?
Is that just happens with xperia neo v or all the android smartphones with HDMI output capabilities just upscales the resolution?
how to make the HDMI output for HD videos look as good as possible..(specially on my xperia neo v)
I have downloaded hdwin player. It only works on rooted phones. So then I start researching rooting my phone. Checked out urevoked web site,that software doesn't recognize my phone. I also checked into z4root upon more research ,this is only a temporary root. In the friggin 5 hr. Reading process I managed to spider my phone screen, and break the screen on my personal laptop. All I am tryin to do is be able to play a movie on my phone and have it appear on the t.v.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am thinking of buying an Iconia Tab A1-810 which I plan to sometimes use to watch movies on my TV. Since it has an HDMI port I assume it will be pretty straightforward but my question is will it be able to output 1080p or at least 720p movies on my TV. Will there be lag or something?
View 4 Replies View RelatedGoogle's free navigation used to be a selling point for the OS, but it currently has some issues. Prior to Android 2.3, there used to be separate volume levels for media and navigation. However, these got combined into media so you can no longer tweak your navigation volume independent of your music. The end result is that the only way to make navigation audible in the car is to have the stereo volume at a level that would cause the music volume to bother many people (I usually drive with two toddlers in my car).
But there's another thing that I noticed. Switching between Bluetooth output to line output (the car's AUX input) has an effect on volume, but not one that makes sense. Music played through Google Music (and other media players, including PowerAMP) is louder over Bluetooth. I have to have the volume at 2 bars in my Fusion on Bluetooth to match the music volume set at 4 bars on line out. But here's the weird thing, navigation volume is not effected. It sounds the same on both, meaning that it suddenly becomes audible on line out.
Android is doing something weird where it amplifies music over Bluetooth, but not other sounds. As it stands, Bluetooth is more convenient, but it makes turn-by-turn navigation more difficult.
Any app who can select output sound device ?
Like if we plug a headphone on the jack, let us choose to force audio output to external speaker ?
Actually my problem is that skype and voip app have sounds going throw external speaker and not internal speaker.
All I can find is video output to 1 secondary monitor. I need to know if I can (using iDisplay or whatever) output from a pc to 8-12 android tablets in extended desktop. So the tablets would make 1 big monitor. Operating system on pc side can be linux or windows 7/xp.

I have just purchased the Jawbone Jambox. Very nice bit of kit and the sound is great.When I pair with my laptop, it works no problem outputting the sound from Spotify or Movies etc.
When I try and play music from my handset, it just comes out the handsets speakers even though it is paired. The same for games and video.I have an HTC Desire with Cyanogen 7 installed.
The Jambox has a built in mic and works fine when paired as a hands free setup. I hear the phone ringing from the speakers so that proves it is working.I have done a bit of reading and have found some posts talking about on the iPhone, you can set what the phone outputs the sound to. ie. The Jambox rather than the builtin speaker.
I have not been able to find anything like that for the ROM I am using or even mention of it for other Android handsets.
live wallpaper that shows the output of a command?
Example: the output of the "top" command as my live wallpaper.
I'm writing a file manager app and I want to allow it for browsing with root permissions.
All I have so far is creation of a Process object using Runtime.exec("su"). Then I get output stream from it and write "ls" command. And here goes the question. How to read the output of the "ls"? Getting the input stream from the process gives me stdout of the "su" which is useless.
found an app that will allow me to send audio to a bluetooth receiver / speaker AND allow me to use headphones / wired speaker at the same time??
I'm not rooted. If this could be done via rooting, I might just consider doing it.
AND, while I'm asking, can the audio signal be sent to and received by two different bluetooth receivers at the same time? I currently only have one bluetooth audio receiver, so I can't try it.
I know this might be a silly question and probably not usefull to many but i am trying to connect audio out via bluetooth and out the headset jack at the same time
View 1 Replies View Relatedsend images to the TV or PCscreen. Howevevr I am thinking that sometimes could be very interesting the opposite case, I mean .... send video (or static images) from PC to the android phone screen.And I am not talking about sending only image data file.
For example:
USB connection to use the mobile as a extended or mirrored desktop for windows.
The default android video player and the other one provided by my vendor display clear banding when playing videos. The video itself is fine because when played with BSPlayer with HW experimental there is no banding visible.
The videos are played through the MediaPlayer interface of Android. I am still not sure if it is a dithering issue or a surface format issue. I tried different modifications to the player/machine without success.
1. Build.prop settings: persist.sys.use_dithering=1 (tried 2 as well) and video.accelerate.hw=1
2. Adding the dither flag with addFlags( WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_DITHER )
3. Making sure the surfaces are in RGBA_8888 with setFormat of surfaces
4. Forcing dithering in View.smali of framework.jar
How I could fix this issue with the default player. Wondering if it could be related to drivers or native code.
I ran those two apks listed here and no banding visible at all: [URL]

The script is easy but I don't know how to automate it. I'm running 4.2.2 on an HTC One X+. I'm rooted and have busybox 1.22.1 installed.
The fstrim script is as follows:

it is located in /data/local/fstrim.sh
I sing karaoke, and I would like to be able to see the lyrics on my phone as they are played. A friend of mine is a KJ, who runs his karaoke out of a computer. I'm on a DROID RAZR MAXX (not sure how that important that is), but is there a way to receive wirelesss or bluetooth video from a PC and show it onto my phone? What hardware and apps would I need to use for this to work?
