Android :: CTS Fails For Java Output Stream Writer Test
Aug 24, 2009
Please give me a clue, to pass CTS. I'm try to do CTS test. The Android 1.5 r3 which I get from Android Open Source fails CTS. Mean while, if I download Android 1.5 r3 and run CTS test for emulator it's PASS. the module fail CTS is: java.io.OutputStreamWriterTest I run test with follow string: start --plan Java -t tests.api.java.io.OutputStreamWriterTest#test_write$C I found that java.io.OutputStreamWriterTest class belongs to core.jar I compared sizes of core.jar build by me and build by Google, and it's different for 362 bytes. I'm completely frustrated. What's I'm doing wrong! For building we use: Java jdk: 1.5.0_16 Ubuntu version: 8.04 All others libs installed as mentioned on the http://source.android.com/download. Building by command: make or make sdk Error log:
<FailedScene message="junit.framework.AssertionFailedError: Error when reading bytes in UTF-8 expected:"8916"; but was:"8907"; at tests.api.java.io.OutputStreamWriterTest.test_write$C (OutputStreamWriterTest.java:470)"> <Stack Trace>at tests.api.java.io.OutputStreamWriterTest.test_write$C (OutputStreamWriterTest.java:470) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) at android.test.AndroidTestRunner.runTest(AndroidTestRunner.java:164) at android.test.AndroidTestRunner.runTest(AndroidTestRunner.java:151) at android.test.InstrumentationTestRunner.onStart (InstrumentationTestRunner.java:418) at android.app.Instrumentation$InstrumentationThread.run (Instrumentation.java:1520) at tests.api.java.io.OutputStreamWriterTest.test_write$C (OutputStreamWriterTest.java:470) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) at android.test.AndroidTestRunner.runTest(AndroidTestRunner.java:164) at android.test.AndroidTestRunner.runTest(AndroidTestRunner.java:151) at android.test.InstrumentationTestRunner.onStart (InstrumentationTestRunner.java:418) at android.app.Instrumentation$InstrumentationThread.run (Instrumentation.java:1520) </Stack Trace>

I am trying to build a music app on a android device with GStreamer ported on it. But when I try mp3 url streaming on http, it failed to handle stream (however, it works perfectly fine on Android devices with base Media Framework, OPENCore). So I wanted to know whether GStreamer supports http url streaming, or is there any other way of doing it.

I'm developing for the Android platform.
My app creates a temp file with a simple call to:
FileOutputStream fos = openFileOutput("MY_TEMP.TXT",Mode);
It works fine because I can write to it and read it normally.
The problem is that when I exit from the app I want to delete this file. I used:
File f = new File(System.getProperty("user.dir"),"MY_TEMP.TXT");
f.delete()
But it always returns false and the file is not deleted.
I have tried
File f = new File("MY_TEMP.TXT");
f.delete();
And it does not work either.

I am trying to open a remote Stream of a JPEG image and convert it into a Bitmap object code...
The decoder returns null and in the logs I get the following message:
DEBUG/skia(xxxx): --- decoder->decode returned false
Note:
1. the content length is non-zero and content type is image/jpeg
2. When I open the URL in browser I can see the image.
What is that I am missing here?

I need a library in java that can take HTML content and generate text in the same format that is generated by the Linux lynx program.
That's it. Reasons below if you care.
I need to expose data provided by 3rd party servers to end users on Android. Data format is ancient, in badly formatted HTML, so much that I've tried reading it using java and it fails occasionally (unacceptable). It is also growing every month (preinstall ruled out) and I can't convince them to change to "modern" stuff (life would be great in XML etc.).
Shortest route: I wrote a class to use the W3 html2txt service online (google search it). It worked fine on the app until I got complains and noticed that the W3 service fails occasionally. It's not that big of a deal, but the black box logic expects the output to be in this "lynx like" text format.
So I would like a library to do the conversion (HTML->TXT) in "lynx style" inside the app and avoid the outages in the W3 service. And besides, the lynx output the probably the best I've seen, the most organized and neat.

I'm attempting to port an application that plays chiptunes (NSF, SPC, etc) music files from Java SE to Android. The Android API seems to lack the javax multimedia classes that this application uses to output raw PCM audio. The closest analog I've found in the API is AudioTrack and so I've been wrestling with that. However, when I try to run one of my sample music files through my port-in-progress, all I get back is static. My suspicion is that it's the AudioTrack I've setup which is at fault. I've tried various different constructors but it all just outputs static in the end. The DataLine setup in the original code is something like I've replaced constants and variables in those so they make sense as concisely as possible, but my basic question is if there are any obvious problems in the assumptions I made when going from one format to the other.

Anyone know where I can find this? I had it on my phone awhile ago but had to wipe and could not find it again in the market. IMO it was a tad bit better then Swype. Both great keyboards, I just liked that one better. If anyone could provide any info that would be great. Thank you.

I'm writing an Android JUnit test and want to copy/reset a test fixture file (it's an SQLite database file.) If I were within the main application, I know I could just place the file in the assets directory and use getResources().getAssets().open(sourceFile).However, this API appears to be unavailable from the ActivityInstrumentationTestCase2 class.Is there an easy way to copy a file over from the testing PC, or should I just keep a fresh copy of a test fixture on the device and copy it over a temporary file?

I get a button in the setUp() method like this: protected void setUp() throws Exception {super.setUp(); act = getActivity(); btn = Button)act.find ViewById ( R.id.bike_button ); // this button has been defined in layout} Then I use this button to perform a click in a test method like this: public void testBikeButton(){ //click the bike button btn.performClick();}

I have never used JUnit before, and now I'm trying to set it up on an Android project.My project under test is fairly complex, including some JNI, but my test project, at the moment, is completely trivial. I have found many examples (that look totally different) online of how to make a test project, but it seems that no matter which one I follow, I get the same results.Here's my JUnit project code:package com.mycompany.myproject.test;
import android.test.AndroidTestCase;public class SimpleTestCaseExample extends Android TestCase {public void test_testOne() {fail("Just Always Fail");When I run, I see the following in Logcat:
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: numtests=2
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: test=test_testOne
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS_CODE: 0
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: id=InstrumentationTestRunner
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: current=2
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: class=com.mycompany.myproject.test.SimpleTestCaseExample
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: stream=
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: numtests=2
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: test=testAndroidTestCaseSetupProperly
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS_CODE: 1
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: id=InstrumentationTestRunner
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: current=2
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: class=com.mycompany.myproject.test.SimpleTestCaseExample
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: stream=.
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: numtests=2
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: test=testAndroidTestCaseSetupProperly
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS_CODE: 0
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_RESULT: stream=
stdout Test results for InstrumentationTestRunner=..
stdout Time: 0.07
stdout OK (2 tests)
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_CODE: -1
But, I get the following in the Console:Launching instrumentation android.test. Instrumentation TestRunner on device emulator-5554 Collecting test information Test run failed: No test results I have tried a variety of different things, messing with the basic TestCase class, or the TestSuite class, or a variety of other options. I tried to just go for the most trivial example because I'm really still trying to learn how this works.Whatever I try, I see this error.

I'm working on a school project and I'm researching testing possibilities for Android applications. On this page: http: // developer . android . com/ resources / tutorials /testing /hello android. Google writes about a unit test. Is this really a unit test? A Unit test will not integrate all classes and will not test in his context. So my opinion is it is not a Unit Test but an Integration Test.

I have a project (that compiles and runs in the emulator.) I have a test project that tests part of this project. This test project also compiles with no problems, but when I try to run (test) it in the emulator, I get a NoClassDefFoundError exception on one of the classes my test class tests (I hope that made sense!) when it starts to run in the emulator. This is coming out of the adb log. I looked in the bin directory (of the test project) for the missing class, but could not find it... Should it be there? I found no reference (apk, etc) of the project I am trying to test either in the test projects bin directory. How does the test project get the classes it needs to test against (in the classpath, I assume.) How do the tested classes get moved to the emulator? I did try running the app before testing, so I know it is installed and runs correctly. BTW, I am using netbeans with the nbandroid plugin.

I wonder if ne one had an major issue with their touch screen before like I had with mine. So I decided to post this little story. Let me start off with a little background info. I got my droid november 6, 5 46am central time zone. don't ask me how but the vzw dude was letting me earlier cuz I had work. I was so happy that day leaving t mobile I did love my g1 but wen I read all about the droid I felt likt I had to leave her and move on. She did do a lot for me but time tells all and it was my time go and move on.Untill two months ago (Present time I'm talking in) I realized not everyone has the bubbly keyboard. I saw friends at my unit (I'm in the army reserves) that bought the droid a couple of months after me had flat keyboards n they were bitching bout how flat it was. I agreed with them since I was woth a g1 the keyboard was a bit flat but nothing to were its such a pain, so my friend shows me his keyboard and I looked shocked played with it was like wow and I pulled my n did a side by side side comprasion and this before I saw the bubbley keyboard thread on here. So unforunately my toucscreen starting doin its own thing like it was ghost writer and spazzing out. I had no control over it this happened monday nite and I was dreading it that I will end up replacing it. But it would not let me do nothing.I couldn't go ne where on my screen it would randomly hit different icons to the point were sum times it would call my contacts. I only had control over the physical buttons. So on Tuesday during work I fought the ghost writer to let get to setting a do a system restore. First minute of the set up was ok but right wen it finish and I was on the home screen again. I was like FUDGE I don't want to replace my rare Droid. After work I replaced it, I was real pissed I had the bubbly keyboard and (something I didn't noticed untill I got my replacement) the golden plated volume side button. I miss my precious rare droid. I was soo proud to be first non employee to have the droid in houston.
