I have been trying to reinstall the OS on X10 using the Sony PC comp and also tried with the Sony Update service but get stuck at the same stage in both.
Everything goes ok till downloading the files from the internet i.e preparatory stage. It then tells me to remove and turn off the phone and reattach while continuously pressing the back key (IMAGE 01). It says to select USB connected and mount the SD card. I am following the instructions to the T but nothing forward happens. I have repeated it over 50 times but no reward. It just does not go into the next stage of installation even after waiting 30-45 mins but sends out an error (Image 2)
I thought maybe xrecovery, OS Monitor, superuser, Antivirus might be interfering so I removed them too. Has rooting got anything to do with it?
Just recently I flashed my Wildfire with Cyanogenmod 7 and so far it's an awesome ROM, although I miss a few things from Sense.Just yesterday I noticed that on my Cyanogenmod 7 I can't seem use custom ringtones. Let me explain.
I deleted all the profiles and only the Default one is present and selected, it does not override anything.
Then I installed "Rings extended" because that seemed to work really good on stock ROM and selected to use it as the default ringtone picker.
It works fine, but the problem is, when I go to "Setttings -> Sound -> Phone ringtone" and select my ringtone using "Root explorer", or any other option available, it does select it and I can play it when I tap it, but it DOES NOT play when someone is calling me - instead it plays the first system ringtone.
Same thing happens with the notification sound and an SMS sound (Messaging -> Settings -> Notification settings -> select ringtone).
Now I tried to create a "ringtones" folder and "notifications" folder and put my rings there. The system ringtone picker detects them but again - does not play them.
i have a cheap alwinner a13 tablet (simmtronics xpad x720) from indian manufacturer. It is stuck at cwm recovery it countineously boots to cwm after restart.I have no backup stock rom. But i can sideload zip from adb or external ed. And not able to mount internal sd or wipe cache.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI own a Allwinner A13 7 inch tablet, on which I installed the Cyanogen 10 mod (Due to restrictions I cannot place the link to the mod)
The problem is I probably installed the wrong touchscreen driver, so the tablet boots perfectly into the Mod but I can't do anything. Normally it would be no problem to just put back my backup, but I can't get it to boot into CWM.
In the first place I rebooted into CWM to instal the mod by adding the following command through the "terminal app" before rebooting,
Command: "echo -e 'boot-recovery' > /dev/block/nandf; sync"
Now I cannot use the screen so i cant use the terminal. I also cannot use ADB because USB debugging is standard switched of after flashing a new MOD. Any other way to get into CWM??

Before rooting, I had a working / reliable wifi connection. Now, it's gone.

I have been trying to send ussd request for balance check and sms bundle but the call disconnects when I do. This problem is really getting annoying I have been trying to fix it but can't do it. I have master rested my phone twice but the problem remains my Android version is 2.2.

View 8 Replies View RelatedAbout 3 days ago I began receiving a "Login Failed" notification on my Samsung Galaxy S3. It appears to be in reference to my roadrunner email account, and when I open the notification it gives me a pop up screen saying the "server password has changed" and asking for the password. I had not changed my password, but it would not accept the password on the account. I searched and found that about a year ago this seemed to be a common problem. Most of the answers amounted to 'uninstall and reinstall your email', so I did. No luck. Then I uninstalled the email from my phone, went to the roadrunner account online, changed my password, then reinstalled the email account on my phone. That worked for about 12 hours and then I started receiving the notifications again. Currently I have just uninstalled email from my phone completely while I search for a solution.
Then yesterday my phone began taking random screen shots. So far it has taken 5 screen shots at random times. I realize we just celebrated Halloween but I didn't expect my phone to become possessed.
I used insecure boot and root trying to root my phone, which was a huge mistake as i noticed a few minutes later since i cant startup anymore and only get into bootloader.
Now I'm trying to flash my stock rom back.
My CID is VODAP102 and my Version is 3.14.161.27 so i downloaded the rom and tried "fastboot flash boot boot.img" the result is:

The data sent from the android device is received by the server and a reply is succesfully sent but the android code timesout and never gets the return data.I have tested that the C# server can communicate and reply with a C# client.
I have studied the network traffic using Wireshark when using both the C# server-android client and C# server-C# client and it appears that the android device acknowledges(ACK) the reply data but my code never recieves it.
I have the code running in a thread so running it on Android 4.0 doesn't error out but I have tried running it on Android 2.2 with exactly the same behaviour(or lack of it). Also I have run it on 2 different android devices.

View 2 Replies View RelatedToday I've just started having many SMS failures when trying to send via my Desire handset on the Orange UK network. I've put the sim in another phone and the messages send (and receive) fine. I've done a factory reset and still the problem remains - 'SMS unable to send' notification. Eventually on a retry it seems they do send (sometimes coming through twice) but it's something that has only just started happening.
As I say I tried a factory reset and the problem remains using either the stock sms client or indeed Handcent. I also noticed before the reset when I restarted the phone it would take upto 5 minutes to achieve any phone signal at all - after the restart it finds it almost immediately.
I ran into this with my corporate e-mail this week on a Google I/O Evo. The setup of my exchange account was painless. Just need to plug-in my e-mail, password and a device password. Exchange syncing works fine until you turn off your phone. When you power the phone back on, it boots up to the point where the Sprint intro video plays. At that point, according to Sprint tech support, the Exchange syncing hits a snag and causes the phone to restart indefinitely playing that same loud, annoying intro video over and over. The only workaround was to open up the bootloader (power+volume down on power up) and erase all my data. I went through a simple setup and a simple setup + exchange again to confirm that it was indeed the Exchange account that introduced the problem.

If I click to download, it tries to download for about a min then I get a notification that says "message not downloaded" then below it says "transient failure". I have had 2 people send me MMS messages, both times my EVO behaved the same way. Both people have verizon service.

I have tried a soft reset by powering down the phone, removing the battery and resetting. This is my 3rd day of having this device. When I left the store with it, I received an update notification. Then when I got to WiFi, I installed the OTA update. I don't know whether mms worked before the update as I didn't have time to use it before the update began.
I have developed a small application on eclipse (SDK 1.5r1). When I run the project it worked fine. Then I exported the signed application. (Lunar.apk) Then I sent the Lunar.apk file to my friend to install on his machine. when he try to install it manually on the emulator the cmd prompt says

I have downloaded the Layar401.apk file from web and trying to install it into my android device [HTC Magic, OS 2.2]. But every time I'm trying to install it its saying -

I returned my perfect working non-defective EVO last week because my friend has a better deal for the monthly cost. So I joined his family plan and returned mine.
Unfortunately, my new EVO are having some problems. My new one has mild light leakage below the menu button. The volume control button is a bit loose, its workable, but just not as sturdy as on my previous EVO. Occasionally it has text messages delay, which never occur on my previous EVO, Im not sure if its related to Sprint or the phone itself. The battery is not as good as the previous one. Even though I can definitely get through the day with 15 hours for each charge, but I got 20+ hours on my previous EVO. Maybe itll get better once I charged it a few more cycle, its not the biggest concern for me. My biggest concern is actually my own stupid mistake! When I was altering the settings for my phone, I accidentally press and tried to active the Hotspot option. From there one, Ive been receiving the Data Call Failure Error 67 message randomly. Sometimes I just dismiss the message and its fine, sometimes I cant use the 3G after dismissing it. Ive tried to update the profile; turn off the phone; pull the battery. Sometimes it works, sometimes dont..
I don't need the hotspot function and didnt sign up and pay the $30 for it. I really dont need it, I just press it by accident ONCE! Is there any cure with this? I dont want to receive the error message randomly. And I don't want the hotsopt feature! I dont want to call Sprint yet before any other possible remedy, its kind of my last resort. Ive read from some other places that they just tell you to do a hard/soft reset and it is not a guarantee that itll work.

I have a google account, can log into google mail. Have confirmed on a PC I'm using the right user/pass. If I enter wrong the incred does say user/pass does not match.
When I enter correctly, no errors, just takes me to a quick setup then back to a log in.
Done it 20 times, no joy.
Even tried a new account, then hit with 'errors with google servers, try again later'
