I downloaded the Android 2.2 source code and try to build it. When I executed the make command, I got an error here like this build/core/java.mk:20: *** frameworks/ex/common: Invalid LOCAL_SDK_VERSION '8' Choices are: current 4 5 6 7. Stop. Then I changed the frameworks/ex/common/Android.mk to LOCAL_SDK_VERSION = 8 from LOCAL_SDK_VERSION = 7. I changed the external/jsr305/Android.mk to LOCAL_SDK_VERSION = 8 from LOCAL_SDK_VERSION = 7

By these changes the code started the compilation.

I returned my perfect working non-defective EVO last week because my friend has a better deal for the monthly cost. So I joined his family plan and returned mine.
Unfortunately, my new EVO are having some problems. My new one has mild light leakage below the menu button. The volume control button is a bit loose, its workable, but just not as sturdy as on my previous EVO. Occasionally it has text messages delay, which never occur on my previous EVO, Im not sure if its related to Sprint or the phone itself. The battery is not as good as the previous one. Even though I can definitely get through the day with 15 hours for each charge, but I got 20+ hours on my previous EVO. Maybe itll get better once I charged it a few more cycle, its not the biggest concern for me. My biggest concern is actually my own stupid mistake! When I was altering the settings for my phone, I accidentally press and tried to active the Hotspot option. From there one, Ive been receiving the Data Call Failure Error 67 message randomly. Sometimes I just dismiss the message and its fine, sometimes I cant use the 3G after dismissing it. Ive tried to update the profile; turn off the phone; pull the battery. Sometimes it works, sometimes dont..
I don't need the hotspot function and didnt sign up and pay the $30 for it. I really dont need it, I just press it by accident ONCE! Is there any cure with this? I dont want to receive the error message randomly. And I don't want the hotsopt feature! I dont want to call Sprint yet before any other possible remedy, its kind of my last resort. Ive read from some other places that they just tell you to do a hard/soft reset and it is not a guarantee that itll work.
My Evo has no data connection all of a sudden and pops up with an error that says, "Data Call Failure Error Code 130. Network error. Sign in failed. Please wait a moment and try again, you may need to contact Sprint."
I didn't do anything weird to my phone or anything to have this happen all of a sudden. I've tried doing a battery pull several times and tried updating my profile, but nothing seems to work. Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone else experiencing such an error?

View 1 Replies View RelatedPeriodically I change my passwords and yesterday after doing so, and updating my htc mail settings I cannot access my mail. I am getting an error saying authentication failed. It had worked perfectly fine then several hours later I got the message when I went to check my mail - actually the lack of. Because I had noticed gmail notifier updating my mail on my computer but nothing on my phone.
I read elsewhere to try it on just a 3g connection, or going to wifi, neither worked. I have deleted the account, and tried setting it up from scratch to no avail. The gmail stock app works, I just like the mail widget from htc.
I used insecure boot and root trying to root my phone, which was a huge mistake as i noticed a few minutes later since i cant startup anymore and only get into bootloader.
Now I'm trying to flash my stock rom back.
My CID is VODAP102 and my Version is 3.14.161.27 so i downloaded the rom and tried "fastboot flash boot boot.img" the result is:

I've the latest 1.6 sdk. I would like to build the project on 1.5 as well as on 1.6. New 1.6 also comes with 1.5. My build succeeds, but I get a bunch of error --- Not sure if I screwed the java env setup?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just switched the way my Android project is being built and non of my unit tests work any more...I get errors like WARN/dalvikvm(575): VFY: unable to resolve static field X in WARN/dalvikvm(575): VFY: unable to find class referenced in signature These errors only come from my Unit Tests, where classes defined in it can't even see other classes defined in the unit test. Before each project had it's own directory with copies of the 3rd party jar files. I've read around that Dex does weird things with references but haven't been able to figure out how to fix this problem. Is there a better way to do this? I would love to see an example of a large Android workspace where there are multiple projects, jar references, etc.Is it possible to fix this with an Order/Export tweak ?

1) Checkedout the project via apps-for-android instructions

2) Opened a new Android project using existing source dir [per the WikiNote direction]
3) Cleaned the project and let it rebuild
It won't build the APK though and reports compilation errors (the top level dir is flagged red in eclipse but nothing else is so I can't track down where the error supposedly is)

1.) The project is missing gen folder.
2.) There is a build path error.
I go to "Configure build path" and uncheck "Android 1.6". It works. If I do this again, I go and this time check "Android 1.6". It again works.
This is more of an Eclipse error than an Android or Ant error. My Eclipse project won't build because when it sees the build.xml created from the Android command, it starts looking for the debug and release commands. Well, since they are dynamically generated from the <setup> task, they don't exist. So now Eclipse (Build id: 20100218-1602) locking the project from build/run based on these errors. kay.. so here is the weird part: It worked this morning. In fact it has been working for weeks with the build.xml file sitting there. All I did was edit the build.xml file in Eclipse (changed some constants). Ant thinks everything is peachy.

On my Mac I installed Eclipse, the SDK and created a new project, then hit build expecting to see my first helloworld app.I got the error "the project cannot be built until build path errors are fixed".After going thru all the path-like options in Preferences, I noticed that on the tab "Java Build Path" the "Google APIs [Android 2.2]" option did not have its check box checked.Checking it made the problem go away.It works now and I can see the app in the Emulator Have I not set up my environment correctly? I used all the defaults in Eclipse and the Android SDK.

Your project contains error(s), please fix them before running your application. This has happened a couple of times already and I've been able to repair it by cleaning and rebuilding, sometimes having to restarting eclipse, sometimes having to restart my pc, but now it won't budge. I've gone back to a known working version of my app to remove that unknown. Typically I can find project errors in the Eclipse Package explorer, but my code is fine according to the Package Explorer. Any other project debug tools? Is this a known Eclipse/Android environment issue?

I am connecting to a server on my network written in C#. The data sent from the android device is received by the server and a reply is succesfully sent but the android code timesout and never gets the return data.I have tested that the C# server can communicate and reply with a C# client.
I have studied the network traffic using Wireshark when using both the C# server-android client and C# server-C# client and it appears that the android device acknowledges(ACK) the reply data but my code never recieves it.
I have the code running in a thread so running it on Android 4.0 doesn't error out but I have tried running it on Android 2.2 with exactly the same behaviour(or lack of it). Also I have run it on 2 different android devices.
