My girlfriend's Moment has started having issues sending text messags.Sometimes when she attempts to send a msg it gives a Code: 96 error and doesnt send so she retries multiple times and then sometimes it eventually sends through those multiple times and the person receiving get the txt like 5 times. What is this error and how do i fix it? Its using the stock messaging app.

I just installed android sdk1.5 on a ubuntu 8.04 machine. The IDE is eclipse3.4 with ADT. I created a HelloAndroid project with only the automatically generated code. It compiled successfully and worked on the emulator. But when I tried to install the apk to my G1. It failed with only return code [-12]. I tried anroid 1.1 and android 1.5. The results are the same. But my G1 works fine when the sdk is 1.1. Any idea?

I didn't do anything weird to my phone or anything to have this happen all of a sudden. I've tried doing a battery pull several times and tried updating my profile, but nothing seems to work. Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone else experiencing such an error?

Before rooting, I had a working / reliable wifi connection. Now, it's gone.
Could rooting the phone have caused this problem? I followed the instructions to the letter (and am rooted successfully).
Whenever I turn on wifi, it fails to locate ANY networks ("unable to scan networks") and turns itself off.

Soft reset, factory reset, root, deletion of specific settings files so that they repopulate ... NOTHING works.
Was trying to send a text and it wouldn't send. Got this error code. Has anyone else gotten this before?

View 30 Replies View RelatedAbout 3 days ago I began receiving a "Login Failed" notification on my Samsung Galaxy S3. It appears to be in reference to my roadrunner email account, and when I open the notification it gives me a pop up screen saying the "server password has changed" and asking for the password. I had not changed my password, but it would not accept the password on the account. I searched and found that about a year ago this seemed to be a common problem. Most of the answers amounted to 'uninstall and reinstall your email', so I did. No luck. Then I uninstalled the email from my phone, went to the roadrunner account online, changed my password, then reinstalled the email account on my phone. That worked for about 12 hours and then I started receiving the notifications again. Currently I have just uninstalled email from my phone completely while I search for a solution.
Then yesterday my phone began taking random screen shots. So far it has taken 5 screen shots at random times. I realize we just celebrated Halloween but I didn't expect my phone to become possessed.
On my sister's phone (and I've checked the contact, and reentered the number) when she receives a message from a certain number, the other number on her account and replies to it, the message seems to be sent to the 7 digit number, without area code, and so it fails. She keeps having to resend messages, as a new message, to the number typed in in full. On receiving a reply, simply responding to it results in another failure.This is samsung moment to samsung moment, only happens with the one contact, and doesn't happen on mine.

But just to point it out again the moment can be turned off or put on airplane mode even while its locked. This may be a bad thing if someone steals your phone and you want to use someones phone to either call or text it so that it will ring to find out who has it. All the thief has to do is put it on airplane mode or turn it off to deactivate ringers, sound, and gps.
Is there an app or option where I can use a passcode to unlock the phone rather than the pattern?And is there a way to track my phone through gps just in case it's lost or stolen?Any ideas or suggestions if a device someone rely relies on a lot is lost or stolen? My friend on his moment was able to add a message on the home screen saying "If found please contact "phone number" "email" and will be given a "$300" reward.

I was wondering if anyone knew what this was and how I can decode it?
so i tried to upgrade from 2.1 to 2.2 through KIES this resulted in a failed upgrade, so i then tried to use Odin. unfortunately the firmware i flashed to caused even more bugs and kept restarting, So I then tried to use KIES/Odin to flash to a different firmware i now get two different errors
1. along the lines of storage is not ready - copying of default media fails
2. cannot mount a certain file - stl11. or something ?
I keep getting a error message saying FAILURE [INSTALL_FAILED_ALREADY_EXISTS] what am i doing wrong

Neither phone is able to send or receive text messages. The phones spin for awhile and then finally displays a failure message. I read one suggestion to turn off WiFi but that didn't work. No other problems have been found so far.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to reinstall the OS on X10 using the Sony PC comp and also tried with the Sony Update service but get stuck at the same stage in both.
Everything goes ok till downloading the files from the internet i.e preparatory stage. It then tells me to remove and turn off the phone and reattach while continuously pressing the back key (IMAGE 01). It says to select USB connected and mount the SD card. I am following the instructions to the T but nothing forward happens. I have repeated it over 50 times but no reward. It just does not go into the next stage of installation even after waiting 30-45 mins but sends out an error (Image 2)
I thought maybe xrecovery, OS Monitor, superuser, Antivirus might be interfering so I removed them too. Has rooting got anything to do with it?
Just recently I flashed my Wildfire with Cyanogenmod 7 and so far it's an awesome ROM, although I miss a few things from Sense.Just yesterday I noticed that on my Cyanogenmod 7 I can't seem use custom ringtones. Let me explain.
I deleted all the profiles and only the Default one is present and selected, it does not override anything.
Then I installed "Rings extended" because that seemed to work really good on stock ROM and selected to use it as the default ringtone picker.
It works fine, but the problem is, when I go to "Setttings -> Sound -> Phone ringtone" and select my ringtone using "Root explorer", or any other option available, it does select it and I can play it when I tap it, but it DOES NOT play when someone is calling me - instead it plays the first system ringtone.
Same thing happens with the notification sound and an SMS sound (Messaging -> Settings -> Notification settings -> select ringtone).
Now I tried to create a "ringtones" folder and "notifications" folder and put my rings there. The system ringtone picker detects them but again - does not play them.
i have a cheap alwinner a13 tablet (simmtronics xpad x720) from indian manufacturer. It is stuck at cwm recovery it countineously boots to cwm after restart.I have no backup stock rom. But i can sideload zip from adb or external ed. And not able to mount internal sd or wipe cache.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI own a Allwinner A13 7 inch tablet, on which I installed the Cyanogen 10 mod (Due to restrictions I cannot place the link to the mod)
The problem is I probably installed the wrong touchscreen driver, so the tablet boots perfectly into the Mod but I can't do anything. Normally it would be no problem to just put back my backup, but I can't get it to boot into CWM.
In the first place I rebooted into CWM to instal the mod by adding the following command through the "terminal app" before rebooting,
Command: "echo -e 'boot-recovery' > /dev/block/nandf; sync"
Now I cannot use the screen so i cant use the terminal. I also cannot use ADB because USB debugging is standard switched of after flashing a new MOD. Any other way to get into CWM??
Recently on Sprint's Moment forum a member by the name Mkeng5 has been posting pretty vocal complaints about the Samsung Moment. Not only does he claim the Moment is defective, but he goes a step further and even cites Samsung's own Warranty Policy.

Don't get me wrong, webOS is clean and has a lot of potential, but for now...lacking would be a good (albeit understated) word to describe it. I want to jump the Pre ship for the Samsung Moment, but one thing I keep reading about the Moment is bothering me - everyone says it doesn't have multi-touch. However, I recently read that multi-touch is something Android doesn't yet support. This knowledge was previously unbeknownst to me since I haven't used an Android device since the G1 first launched. Since the Moment uses a standard Android build, the OS wouldn't allow multi-touch even if the phone were capable of it. So my question is: Does anyone know whether or not the Moment is capable of multi-touch? If it's simple a shortcoming of Android, I can deal with it since I know Android 2.0 should finally support it.

How do I resolve this issue? What java app can I download and from where to test it? I assume that the app must me a jar file to test it?
I have been trying to send ussd request for balance check and sms bundle but the call disconnects when I do. This problem is really getting annoying I have been trying to fix it but can't do it. I have master rested my phone twice but the problem remains my Android version is 2.2.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've already done the update but both pre and post update, my Moment intermittently won't respond when getting a call. The call comes in, I hear the ringtone but no matter what buttons I press, the phone won't respond. I have to wait until voicemail kicks in or the call has ended.
I called Sprint technical support and they're going to send a new (I hope it's new) phone. I hate to set up the phone for the third time. Is there a fix or should I just bite the bullet and get the new? phone? Has anyone had this problem?
What experiences have you had with replacement phones from Sprint?
Should I be worried about getting a lemon phone?
Does setcpu speed up the Moment at all or is its only real use for downclocking to save battery?
