how to check e-mail messages from another Gmail account, but not the main account that is logged in my device? Any app or somethig? I just want to check e-mails (and docs maybe) but I dont want to sync that acc with my phone.

For some reason, my inbox for my IMAP connection to the office email decided to empty itself on my Desire (2.1).An email arrived and I opened the inbox (not the email) and my inbox was empty.I have just popped in to the office (day off - typical!) and all my email is still there so it's not a total loss, just a little confusing since everything was working sweetly.The email server is based on an OS X 10.6.4 server in the office (not that this should have anything to do with it really).I've been through checking the settings and they're all OK. Only thing I haven't tried is removing the account and putting it back on. Might give that a try later on.

When I do this, the chooser comes up and gives all kinds of choices, for anything that can handle text/plain i assume, because there's stuff in there that doesn't support "e-mail". How can I make it so that it will only show applications that support email (gmail, mail, yahoo mail, etc...) and not stuff like "Bluetooth", "Facebook", etc...
I have 3 Galaxy Player 5 ( YP-G70 with 3 capacitive buttons ), only one of the actually have a working rom that i flashed a while ago.
The other two have a different rom that only have the back and menu button working ( the home button doesn't respond )
Is there a way for me to take the Rom and kernel off the working galaxy player so i can install it into the other two ?
I'm new to Android, so this may be silly questions for the seasoned user, but anyway: I'm now using K-9mail for all my e-mail accounts including G mail. I would like to remove my G mail account from the actual G mail app since I am not using it. How do I do that? Also, if I un install the G mail appl itself, how can I get it installed again if I should want to?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with sync/delete working. I just started using G-Mail. I never needed it before (my home and work e-mail was enough). But now i do (looking for a new job and want the e-mails instantly on my phone). when i delete an e-mail on my phone (G-Mail account) it comes back. I use "windows live" as the client on my desktop. it's like they are separate accounts. If i delete something on the desktop, it's still on my phone. If i delete something on the phone, it's still on the desktop my Exchange e-mail account works perfect (when i delete something in outlook, it's deleted on my phone at the same time).

I've been using the HTC app, but have noticed that after a day or so the notification sound stops playing when I receive an email. This happened for anyone else? Anyone tried both apps for any length of time and have strong opinions over which app is better? I saw a review that said the HTC app is better but the Google one doesn't seem too bad to me... Anyone using the Google app that would care to chime in?
View 9 Replies View Relatedfor some reason i can't seem to set up my personal yahoo email account. i keep getting an error saying i'm not authenticated? i just logged in with this pc and didn't have any problems. i was trying to set it up using the mail widget google /gmail worked just fine with their widget are they trying to just force me to use gmail only anyone have any similar problems and/or tips to get it set up. i would like to move to one email account but you know how it is, you get on, you get another, people have the old address guess i could forward yahoo to gmail.

1 POP (Hotmail) - Once daily
My issue is that I am receiving alerts for the same new mail repeatedly. Here's the gist:
11:50 - New mail hits my inbox.
12:00 - I receive a notification of the new email.
12:05 - I check my inbox, but choose not to open the email at this time.
14:00 - I get a notification of a 'new' email, yet on checking it's the one received at 11:50, but still haven't opened.
15:00 - Rinse and repeat. Now, I'm not sure how many times this is happening, or even if it's everytime, but there's something definitely glitchy with mail notifications.Has anybody else noticed similar behaviour? If not I may try removing/adding my accounts back in again.

View 42 Replies View RelatedI have the samsung captivate. When I first got the K9 mail it worked fine. But it seems that after an update a few weeks ago my new mail icon seems to be stuck. I do get my notification and when I check the mail, it does show new mail the first time. But after I check it and clear it from my mail, it still shows that I have 2 new message or so. The number keeps growing. Any way to clear this?

I am able to send e-mail from the phone.The funny thing is that if I check my email from my PC and empty any e-mail's that are in my inbox, then try to check for new e-mail's with my DroidX (knowing that there are none) I do not get any errors.The errors only occur when there are e-mails in my inbox.Didn't have any problems with this setup with the incredible.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to figure out whats going on. I have 2 DI for myself and girlfriend. I have my email (gmail and yahoo) setup through the HTC Mail Client and they work fine. I setup my other phone the same way and it worked fine, but once the yahoo account completed the process of downloading the inbox, I got an Authentication Error stating the login was incorrect. The login is not wrong and works fine to login via the standard web page. I tried to delete the Yahoo Account on the HTC, but when I went to setup again I had the same issue. Not sure how or why this could be happening. Any advice is appreciated. Also verified all the yahoo email settings on my working device and they are all the same on the other device with the issue.

Mail app that was recently put in the Market, I have been using the stock mail app to check my Yahoo! mail.Last night when I checked my Yahoo! Mail through the stock mail app, I was getting weird error messages. Most of the time it would go ahead and put me in my Yahoo! inbox but there would also be a message saying "login failed." I would click OK and then go about my business because e-mails were coming through. I figured it would sort itself out at some point.This morning, it was still doing it and it was annoying, so I re-booted the phone. Same problem. So I decided to delete the account and re-install it (a few weeks ago I had some issues with my Exchange mail account and deleting then re-installing fixed them.)Now, when I try to re-install the account it says "Authentication failed. Please verify your username/password." I have tried it over and over. I know I am using the right username and password - I just used them on my desktop PC to get into the account. And my Yahoo! Mail app still works on the phone.Anyone have any ideas what has happened and/or how I can fix this? I really want to continue to be able to check my Yahoo! mail on my phone without having to use the Yahoo! app.

Now, the app won't retrieve mail from my account. I am looking at my mail app, and dont see the new mail that I am seeing when viewing my in box on my computer. View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a Samsung Galaxy S4 last week. My home internet provider (Bell Aliant) seemingly does not allow SMTP relays from my wireless provider Koodo (Telus). Outgoing email does not send when I am not connected to wi-fi. I've seen this problem mentioned several times on the forum but never a 100% solution. iPhone email client allows 2 SMTP servers to be specified. Are there any android email clients that allow this?
I have a temporary solution where I have the native email client configured with the Bell Aliant SMTP server and K9 configured with the Telus SMTP server. I receive email to each and send from one or the other based on whether I am connected to wi-fi or not.
K9 allows you to configure the account twice but email still comes in twice and each email shows up twice in the combined inbox
I have a pop e-mail account set up on my incredible to check every 10 minutes for new e-mail, but it never does. the only time it checks for new mail is when I manually launch the mail app. My Gmail account works fine. I will send myself a e-mail from my gmail account to my pop e-mail account (another email address) and that email will not hit my incredible until I manually launch the mail app.

I've synced it with Exchange so I get my gmail as it comes, but when I reply from either the gmail app or my PC, it doesn't appear in my HTC sent mail. I've refreshed and nothing happens. I prefer the HTC layout better than the gmail app and love that I get previews on the widget, but the gmail app works exactly as I need it to. How can I display/sync my sent mail on HTC mail when sending from my PC or gmail app?

Some scenarios: Device is connected over WiFi - presumably the device has a standard IP address as with any host and can communicate with any other android host over TCP/IP (assuming it knows the participating device's IP? device is connected over bluetooth - how are devices identified in this case? device is connected over mobile operator's network - this is the one I'm interested in and confused by - is there anyway for two or more devices to discover each other and communicate via the mobile operator's network? How does a device communicate with a backend server in this scenario? In other words, how do apps and devices communicate when not connected to a WiFi network?
