General :: Rooting Samsung Replenish On Mac

Sep 9, 2013

How to get root on the Samsung Replenish using a Mac? My Replenish is on the Gingerbread update.(2.3.6) I did find a rooting guide here on XDA but its Windows-only. The only tool like Odin is Heimdall, but it only works with Galaxy S devices.

General :: Convert Old Samsung Replenish Into MP3 / OGG Player

Jan 31, 2014

I don't want to just use an app or anything like that. All I want is:

Power On>Main Menu
Main Menu>Artists
Main Menu>Songs
Main Menu>Albums
Main Menu>Play Lists

ect., ect., ect. Maybe a search bar too.

I will be rooting it with this tutorial, but that still leaves the question of how do I achieve the above? If need be I can (attempt to) make a ROM, but I will need some tutorials (or a step-by-step-designer ROM generator ). No WiFi, no 3G. Just keyboard, touch screen, USB mass storage, and MP3/OGG support.

General :: Samsung Appeal SGH-i827 Rooting

Dec 28, 2012

Is it possible to root this phone yet as i have tried several times with no success and i recieve the following message when trying to root with one of the many root packages available.

-- Install /sdcard ...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed

Installation aborted.

So i just got myself a Samsung Appeal SGH-i827 and I love it but i got it from the USA and sent over to the UK and unlocked with no problems, I'm sure you know that Pay as you go data allowance is low over here and extremely expensive. Also i want to get rid of all the AT&T installed crap and start with a fresh and clean OS with no bloatware on it with the ability to instal ad blockers that actually work too save on data

General :: Error When Rooting Samsung Galaxy Y Pro GT-B5510 - Installation Aborted

Aug 18, 2013

I've tried to root my Samsung Galaxy Y Pro GT-B5510 using a number of different update.zip files recommended on various sites and forums, but I always encounter the same problem.

The instructions are the same everywhere, and I follow them to the letter: I transfer the file into the root directory of my SD card via USB cable, then disconnect and switch off my phone. I then get into recovery mode (after several attempts) using the Volume-Up, Home and Power buttons. I press Volume-Down to navigate the red menu and then Home to select "apply update from sdcard". I select update.zip, and a stream of cyan text rushes up my screen until it hits a snag...

The red menu reappears, followed by cyan text reading:

.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

Although the previous mountain of text rushes up the screen too fast to read, I am sometimes able to catch a glimpse of what seems to be the main indicator of the problem:

Error in tmp/sideload/package.zip

As I said, this happens with multiple versions of update.zip that I've found. What could be causing it?

Samsung Moment :: Trouble After Rooting

Sep 13, 2010

After a lot of thought, I finally decided I would root my Moment even the whole bricking issue had me really worried. I decided to try it anyway. I got it all done last night well, I think I did. I never actually went into anything that verified that I had rooted it just assumed it was rooted after the instructions I was reading said it was. Well within these instructions was a link to the SDX website where I could download a custom update zip, and had a link to create my own update zip, so I chose to create my own. I'm not sure if I made some wrong choices while creating the zip or what, but now I am having some major trouble.

After creating my zip, I placed it on my SD card. Then, I shut the phone down, and started it up in recovery mode (maybe that's what it's called.... volume down, talk, and end buttons). I went to apply from SD, or something like that, and then went to the custom zip I had just downloaded. The phone did it's thing, said it was installed and then said I need to reboot. I did.

I've not been able to get into my phone since. It gets to the Samsung splash screen, finishes it's animation, and then nothing. It's just black. It won't do anything at all until I take the battery out and put it back in. Then, I am able to get to any of the startup screens or whatever they're called, but no matter what, always goes black after Samsung Splash. It could be that the phone is actually starting, but just not showing me a screen....not sure about that.Well, I read a little bit, and decided I would try to fix it by installing a different update zip, so I put my sd card into my laptop and removed the custom zip. Then, I put the SD card back into my phone and ran the joeykrim zip again. It's still doing the same thing.Has anyone got any ideas for me here?? I am so sick that I decided to do this. I sure hope it's worth it in the end.

My vibrant is rooted and has the lag fix on it, could this possibly cause the tv-out function to not work?

I've been with Apple for the last two years, so I'm sorry if these questions are relatively simple.

1. Will rooting let me get rid of any bloatware? Or touchwiz?

2. I hear that rooting on this isn't "true" rooting. What does this mean, will it eventualy be "true", and what apps will this prevent me from running
