I have an HTC HD running WM 6.5 and a HTC Magic running froyo. The HD syncs all sms via active sync with the exchange server.
Is there an app for android that syncs SMS with my exchange server?

We just upgraded to Exchange 2010 at work, and all our other phones work just fine. Evo, iphones, other Droid models, so it's not the server. This one phone is the only one we have that is a Eris and we can't get it to sync contacts. I have tried to clear the calendar storage, nothing, redid the account, nothing. It gets email and contacts just not the calendar and has the ! next to the sync circle. If anyone can please tell me how to resolve this it would be great. Been searching for 2 days trying to figure it out.

Right now I've enforced password requirements but that only allows pin based unlocks not pattern or face.
Are there any options to enable other types of unlock without removing security requirements at all within Exchange 2010?
I started using Exchange and a Windows Mobile device in 2003 which means I have suffered through that OS for over 7 years!! Now I have purchased the Evo, and must say I love the way it works except... It does not work well with Exchange. It appears that it will not sync calendar events (I get an error every time i try to sync). I called Sprint and they say it is a known issue and have no eta on a fix. It also does not have Task sync. I have tried TouchDown, but it appears it puts all your data in the TouchDown program and it is not accessible form the rest of the phone. What is the value of that?

I can enter all the info and it works (verifies account), but always "Fails to create account"... If anyone has insight, would be greatly appreciated! I can make whatever tweaks needed as I have full access to the phone and server.. It was working perfect on 2007
View 10 Replies View RelatedDroid frg22d update stops syncing with exchange 2010 - Verizon Wireless Community. Apparently I'm not the only one with elevated frustration. Short version of the story:
- Spent hours on the phone w/Moto & Verizon explaining that my OG Droid will no longer connect to ActiveSync w/ Exchange 2010 SP1.
- Verizon & Moto both admit problem.
- Moto says they're working on it. Verizon says to pay $44.95 a month and it will work.
- If I hear one more "supervisor" tell me that it's my problem, and to either pay more, or use TouchDown ($20 app that sucks by the way) I am going to start a class action. Yes, I have the money, and no, I'm not bluffing.
- Please post your woes on this forum as I am starting a case # with the BBB on this matter and I need as much ammo. as possible.
My company is upgrading to exchange 2010 (from 2003) and ever since I moved my mailbox to 2010, every time I reboot I get a notification prompt to "Update Security Settings". This happens every time I reboot no matter how many times I accept it. I've tried deleting and re-adding the account, and it continues to come back every time I reboot.
The annoying part is that it doesn't seem to sync properly until a few minutes AFTER I've accepted these changes. It doesn't seem like this should be happening.
I'm using W7 Ultimate x64 and had no issues with the latest version of HTC Sync and Outlook 2007 x86 - all fine and dandy.
Upgraded last night to Office 2010 x64 and now Sync won't see my Desire - any reasons for this? I've not tried another USB port as yet so will do so later this evening but thought I'd see if anyone else has got it working.
This is the full retail Office 2010, not the beta/technical preview btw.
I'm brand new to the Android world and, in fact, don't even have a phone yet. However, I'll be picking up the LG Optimus S w/Sprint in the next day or so. All my information (email, calendar, contacts, notes, etc) are all managed in Outlook (stand alone, not Exchange). I've been told that there's no way to sync directly from Outlook to an Android phone so I'm looking for the cheapest way to accomplish that and have good results.
My emails come through Gmail so that part is already done. I use Google's Calendar Sync program so my calendar is already in my Gmail account so that is also done. The contacts and notes are only in Outlook so that's where my main question lies..........
I've got a Windows 7 laptop with Outlook 2010 beta on it. Loving 2010, but HTC Sync doesn't seem to want to work with it. I've asked HTC, and they say it don't work with 2010. If anybody knows a way of making it work with 2010. Alternatively, I'm considering buying Outlook 2007 to use instead. Does HTC Sync work with Outlook 2007? I want to sync contacts, calendars, and anything else it might sync!
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have a HTC Desire (updated to Froyo) and have been syncing my contacts with my Outlook 2010 (running Windows 7 Enterprise-32 bit). Everything seems to synchronize well but somehow the "email address-Display As" fields gets updated in outlook, which then doesnt allow me to send emails to those email addresses unless I manually go and update the display as field inside my outlook contacts. I have manually updated all the contacts once already hoping that it may not be due to HTC Sync but when I did the sync then immediately all my Outlook email ids got updated.
Now everytime I try and send an email I immediately get Undeliverable receipt from System Administrator stating the following:
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
Subject: test Sent: 14-Sep-2010 17:41
The following recipient(s) cannot be reached: abc@xyz.com on 14-Sep-2010 17:41
None of your e-mail accounts could send to this recipient.
I have problem with calendar on my HTC desire. Sync with ms exchange works fine, but I can't add new exchange event on the phone. It is strange becouse I can edit exchange calendar entries (synced from PC). Has anybody got an idea how to fix it?

Contacts simply do not apear, and no errors are shown on the android device. (SDK emulators and Samsung Galaxy S3, and NEXUS have been tested and we cannot get them to work)
Android version 4.0.3 and below are working fine.
Activesync on IOS and Windows phone, and older Android devices seem to work fine.
Our setup is very small. CAS,HUB, MBX on same server.
We only have Exchange 2007 SP1 - Rollup 6 i am afraid. Would the issues perhaps be because of that?
Have access to an android 4.0.4 or higher and Exchange 2007 HMC or not.
I can't get my android to sync up with exchange from within my network where my exchange server is located. From any external network, it works fine.

At the moment I synchronise my gmail accoutn with mail, calender, tasks and phone directory.
For future use I want to synchronise with Exchange from work, even the same functions like gmail.
For gmail I use the given gmail-mail program which is implemented with Android.
For Exchange I'd like to use the "Mail" function which is also a standard tool from Android.
My question:
1. I've seen that there is the possibility to show or not show different calenders, phone books etc. When I creat the Exchange additionally to the gmail account, is there a complete new calender built with the Exchange rules or does it use my gmail calender? The same for phone directory.I want to avoid that the two accounts will be fully mashed in the future. So, if I quit my workplace I want to delete the Exchange account and all work information will be lost but not my personal gmail account, settings and personal data like calender, phone directory etc.
2. Is the Exchange completely separated to the gmail account?
I'm a littel bit frightend to configure the Exchange accoutn because I don' want to mix up the two accounts.
I upgrade my phone to android 4.2.2, since then, I realize that only can connect to my bussiness account (Exchange) using 3G, when I tried to use any wifi network (work or home) I can't connect.
I looked forward on forums, and see similar problems (3g connect only, wifi fail) , but no solutions.
I made several tests, and realize than the problem is not 3g or wifi, the problen is, Only work when I use a proxy server.
On APN settings, my configuration use proxy for 3g (operator configuration).
Wifi by default no use proxy. On my home for test this, I configured a proxy server and on my phone I configured wifi to use this proxy. Then Exchage sync works, when I remove proxy form settings, Exchage not sync (said cant connet to server)
Before the upgade on my phone worked with and without proxy settings. I think may be can be a bug on Exchange apk, but I still working out on that.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAt work I have more than just the email calendar. I have a design calendar for allowing my sales reps and project managers to post events to. I also have my main email account calendar. I am the owner of both calendars but the only one that syncs with the stock calendar app is my email account calendar from outlook. This was very easy to do with my windows phone. I just ticked the calendars I wanted to sync to my phone. Was just like my outlook program at work. Showed my owned calendars and let me decide which ones I wanted to populate to my calendar app. I cannot find a way to do this on android. The only calendar it gives me is the main email calendar. I do not want to allow everyone in my work to see my email calendar just so it will show up on my phone easier. All the people can see the design calendar and edit it. This allows them to schedule projects and can see available bandwidth for my department.
Is the rift between google and MSFT too much that neither of them allows the other to do things, or is this just samsung not empowering their app to see other owned exchange calendars?
Our organisation just changed from ADSL to Fibre Optic cable, and as a result we all had reconnect our devices to the exchange server. As a result, not all my outlook contacts come down from the MS exchange server. I can see them in 'Contacts' in Outlook on my Mac, I can see them in 'Contacts' in the remote desktop, but they are not visible on my phone.
Emails sync down fine, as well as 95% of my contacts.
I have an Exchange account setup on my phone (Samsung Vibrant, running CM7.2).
Is there some way to prevent it from syncing email? I only want the calendar to sync, but I can't find an option to disable email syncing. Any apps that can accomplish this?
Constantly syncing email all day is really draining on my battery.
I have an Exchange account with my school that I sync my email and contacts to my android phone with no problems. However, the school made a shared calendar for our class schedules that I added to my Exchange account (by adding the URL), but this calendar will not sync to my phone. If I create my own events in my personal calendar, that works fine and shows up, but the calendar that I added from the school will not. It shows up just fine on Outlook on the PC.
My current solution is to just add that calendar to my google account and sync it, but the problem with that is that our class schedules can sometimes change suddenly and gmail doesn't sync very often, which has led to some problems for me in the past. I would much rather have the direct syncing of the calendar to my phone instead of through google.
What makes it more aggravating is that my friend has no problem syncing the calendar with iOS, so I know it should be possible. I've tried using Touchdown but that has the same problem.Here is an image from the Outlook Web app showing both calendars
My phone: MyTouch 4G running ICS. I had this problem even on other GB roms.
Since the Evo has a bug with activesync causing the phone to constantly reboot if you shut it off and turn it back on, is there another problem I can download to work with Exchange to replace the Android activesync program until its fixed?
View 6 Replies View RelatedAndroid default email client when connected to office wifi doesn't sync my e-mails while if i configures my exchange account in enhanced email it works absolutely fine and all my emails starts syncing on same office wifi.
I was having an offline chat with my system administrator and he told me that they have blocked something to avoid IP pool full issue ( new users were not able to connect to office wifi as almost everyone was using two IP, one on smartphone and one on laptop).
Question is how enhanced email client is able to sync? Can i make some changes in default android email client to make it sync.? My Edge connection is too slow to download emails and can't switch to 3g as it is a company provided connection.
Does anyone know of a 3rd party app that can be used to search the stock email program on the Droid? Through research have found that it is not possible within the app itself, but was not sure if anyone know of an app that allows you to search by recipient, size, date, etc? Coming from a blackberry, that is one of my most missed features.

Is there anything out there that will let me sync at least the calendar and contacts both ways via USB that does not involve using gmail? There are so many out there it seems but I don't have a clue which are any good. I don't mind paying for a quality product if it exists.
