View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having issues with my application when a user gets a system update (for example from 2.1 to 2.2). i am wondering how I can reproduce this experience on a phone (Nexus One). does this involve rooting the phone and then applying a system update? I need the update to look as though it came from the system. In other words, I can't take a full ROM image, because then I think I would lose my application being installed between upgrades.

I tried using Step 2 Option A, since I don't have Windows on any computer I own or have access to. I get to the following part before it doesn't work properly:

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was just thinking that one day in the near future we will have Google operating systems on all of our devices i.e. phone, laptop, and tablet/pad. I am not sure what if any difference between Chrome and Android and how this will affect the likes of Microsoft and Apple. I believe that you can now download the complete Chrome operating system and install it on our laptops etc. See this link Google Android OS Now Available For Download. What are your thoughts on google operating systems.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got a Arnova 10D G3 and it doesn't boot. All I get is the "Arnova" logo on a black screen. I bought it on a refurbished condition, it was a pretty good deal so I am ready to do any risky procedure to make it work since I don't have much to lose.
I downloaded the latest firmware from the official website but I am unable to use it because I can't access the recovery mode.
How can I make it boot?
I am now able to access the recovery mode (power + vol up) but the tablet keeps rebooting after loading this mode. I don't even have a menu.
Today i got my new Arnova 10 G2 tablet and i want to know if there is a way to gain root access and if possible to get cwm or 4EXT recovery flashed......

Before doing so I changed the default system sound to that droplet sound (in the normal settings view, no root, nothing special with this phone) but now I've upgraded the 'normal' setting to change 'system sound' has gone. Have they really just scrapped that option?

How can I change the system default light blue color? I'd like to make it some sort of green. I'm talking about the light blue in such icons in the attached screen shots as the battery icon, the keyboard words, and the bottom bar when pulling down the notification tray. I assume it's just one setting somewhere because it's all the same blue. I am using Nova Launcher and would prefer not to root but might if necessary. I'm using the latest version of Jelly Bean on a Nexus 4
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy OEM's preloaded rom is almost-nearly stock, apart from 2 things:
1. White background on "system settings" interface and not the default holo. Cant that be changed to default?
2. Ribbon effect instead of flash-light in holo effect, which tbh is quite annoying, because the ribbon effect is also quite large and in slower animation speed so that,s 1 second of frustation everytime i scroll to the end. (Yea, 1 second isnt much but, add those up and it gets annoying really fast)
How can these be changed back to default without installing a custom rom?
I have an Allwinner A20 tv box, I trying to use it on a device with an old, low res, 4:3, 5" screen. It works but I have a few problems - firstly the box has "pal" and ntsc" settings for use with AV out, but when connected the picture is squashed inwards so circles are represented as ovals. I ve tried to mod the aspect ratio/resolution but nothing works, the picture is always distorted.
On top of that everything is too small for the screen, it is readable but things really need to appear bigger, so I also played about with the dpi, this does make things bigger and a better match for the screen, even though the device doesnt actually have a screen itself.
I ve done both these mods with several apps and modding the build prop and I always get "sorry systemGUI has stopped", constantly - when you close it, it opens again straight away. Clearly settings doesnt like these mods, so I m trying to work what I need to change so it DOES accept them.
How I can successfully mod the setting.db and get this working at the correct aspect ratio and a dpi that is suitable for use on a low res screen ?
I use Java API "System.setProperty()" to set a system property. After invoke "System.setProperty()", API "System.getProperty()" can return the value just I set. However, when I use command "adb shell getprop" to verify, it shows that this property is not set at all. Do I wrongly understand API "System.setProperty()" ?
