So I was wondering is it possible to make an online pc game work on android ? Unfortunately I can't post links but if you search youtube for "Awplanet android" it would be the first video.
This video was made 3 years ago so this game no longer exist on an android platform because someone made it without the creators permission and sold it for money so it was taken down. Can it be made to work on android again ?
I called and spoke with two different CSR on the phone today as well as one the guys at our local Verizon corporate store. I am still undecided about whether to pre-order tomorrow to save myself from dealing with the mail-in rebate or buying it in store on 4/29. The first CSR I spoke with told me I should receive the phone by FedEx on 4/29. I called later to ask another question about my ne2 and changing plans. I asked the second CSR the same "when will I get it if I pre-order" question and she says I will get it on Friday 4/30. I told her that every thing I have heard and read says it will be there by Thursday 4/29. She told me it was going to be shipped using FedEx 2-day service. I called my local store in Indiana to see if they have ever sold out of any phones when they debut. He says that most of the excitement over the Incredible is by "techies" like me and he expects plenty in stock. I had him check to see when I would get it if I pre-ordered online. He says that it would be shipped 2-day FedEx and I would receive it on Friday 4/30. I told him I would be in on 4/29 to get my phone because I do not want to take a chance on waiting an extra day. This is just a FYI for those expecting it on Thursday because it may take an extra day to get to you.

My goal is to start out with a turn- based game and move onto advanced multiplayer games. I want to have users associated with their google account, provide some sort of matchmaking to pair people together, have their stats stored in a database, and use the stats for various leaderboards and such. I have read over an older discussion on this list at http://www.mail-archive.com/android-developers@googlegroups.com/msg75... . There was a lot of good information that I gathered but I still have some questions. What I have so far is an apache web server on a laptop that I don't need right now (2.0Ghz Core 2, 3GB Ram).
I have never really used Java (although I'm learning it for android), but I know C/C++, Perl, and Python. I am in the process of learning mysql databases, which will help with a lot of the stats features I want to implement. I have built a HTTP/1.1 persistent server in C before which did JSON parsing and used a threadpool so I am somewhat familiar with the low-level network calls needed. However, I'm thinking that a free server software must exist that would offer more security and better load-balancing than the server I created. One solution I am thinking is to just use the Apache web server, have android make a request to a perl module I create on the server, and then have the server look it up on a database and so forth. Then the server will just keep sending back the player locations or whatever. Will the Apache web server slow me down for what I am trying to do or I am looking at everything the wrong way? Are there some settings in Apache that I could tweak to give me better latency such as persistent connections?

I looked around the web and found a few solutions, one is to delete/rename the LowBattery.ogg file - this removes the noise but keeps the pop up.

And set System Volume down to zero, but I don't know what the risks are of doing that - it sounds rather overkill to set it to zero just for one thing, and what other sounds are linked to the system volume?
Any way to completely stop the popup from coming up? I know it's there to remind me to recharge, but it's just so disruptive if I'm near the end of whatever I'm doing and it just pops up, even when I have the full intention to recharge it in a few minutes.
.1. This phone the first week started hanging up on people and is now doing it more often and i noticed while im on the phone before it hangs up on people it makes this weird clicking sound and cuts them off for like a second but only i can hear it , it does that a couple times then hangs up with no warning.
2. The past few days my Wi-fi and 4G will randomly turn themselves on i dont know why.

I plugged my phone into my laptop to sync my new music onto the laptop so ill always have it incase it doesnt save on the memory card because its done that before. but when i went to sync it none of my recently downloaded songs are showing up on Phone or SD card and i remember setting it to immediately save to SD card so i don't know whats wrong with it.

I have Huawei u8600 sonic rooted and with Cyanogen 9 ROM for this phone. Everything is working fine, but I noticed that sometimes my phone just doesn't find SD card. After reboot it works fine again for a while, but after an hour or two it happens again. There is no message about SD card being removed or something, it just disappears. I have most of my apps moved to SD card, so this really annoys me, because without SD card I can't use most of my phone's programs.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working on an app that uses a GoogleMap and lots of overlays/markers. Controls and navigation is handled automatically (no direct user interaction with the map needed so far).
Things work the way I want right until the app pauses and goes into the background. When I resume the app the map has zoomed out to 0:0 and it doesn't react to animateMap or anything anymore. I can't seem to figure how I get it back to the state where it doesn't react to user interaction and actually updates with my markers and stuff..

I am using Lewa Rom v13.06.07 on my Jiayu G3 android phone and am very happy with it. The best thing I have seen. However, there is one thing that needs fixing. When I use Viber and exit from it by pressing home button everything still works but if I close it by "sliding" it as you normally close all non running apps it stops and you get no calls or notifications. This is also true for some other apps like HD Widgets (the clock stops updating) and so on.
I believe these issues are caused by built-in task killer which stops all "unnecessary" processes.
So, I wonder if there is some way to set the rules which process will still run in the background
I have a Sero 7 Pro, and for some odd reason, the camera stops. Doesn't stop working, just goes black. I have to stop recording and restart. Sometimes it will record for hours, other times for 20 to 30 seconds. I use it as a dash cam and it's getting irritating.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince a few month my WiFi does not work properly. When I activate it, it automatically connects to the access point. But after 3 minutes, the connection stops working. The WiFi symbol in the status bar disappears and 3g starts working. When i disable and reenable wifi everything works fine again for 3 minutes. I already tried a static IP. Other devices (laptop) have no problems with the same network.
