Is it possible for odin to setup connection without download mode ?
SGH-T589R (Samsung gravity Q). I've been trying to flash back to stock rom ever since I rooted my phone. I've used Odin 1.85 and Odin multi downloader but they all get stuck! Odin 1.85 gets stuck at setup connection...I've searched everywhere they all say, try a different computer, try a different usb port, try a different cord, try re-installing the drivers, close kies, run as administrator, uncheck protect ops.
I've even tried this: [URL] ...... The only progress I've ever gotten is Odin multidownloader getting stuck on amss download then boot.img download. Is my phone ruined or is there still a chance to fix it? I am in download mode as I can't get into recovery mode and it says in yellow text "Downloading..."
I tried to upgrade my P3100 to Slim-p3100-4.2.2.build.6-OFFICIAL following the tutorial i found.
Result of this is that now tablet is non more able to enter either CWM recovery nor odin download mode and after normal boot i can only see a flashing Slim logo on the right part of the screen.
The best i am able to obtain is a "forced upload by key pressing" screen rebooting with all three buttons pressed.Odin can see the device but when i try to re-upload cwm is stits in Establishing connection.
I am stuck in ODIN mode on my Note 3 and it says downloading... do not turn off target. I can boot with volume down and cancel but it just goers their again. Volume up goes to TWRP but i can't get my phone to just turn on normally. I was not attempting anything. This is how my phone turned on...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm following step by step process to root my gt-s5310 using ODIN 3.07. Started from download mode and connect to the PC is no problem at all. ODIN finished with the GREEN PASS. When I tried to open recovery mode, only android recovery mode is open(but malfunctioning, going no where when I press the home button) that recovery mode also don't has "install zip from sd card" option.
My android version is 4.1.2 . Baseband version S5310DXAME2. Kernel version 3.0.15-1521875 se.infra@SWDA2309#1
Attached is the recovery mode picture
I tried flashing a stock Android 4.2 JB ROM that seems legit. After flashing, I rebooted my device and saw the standard Nexus boot animation. So far, I though all was well. It's not. My phone has been stuck in this constant booting state for hours. I pulled the battery after an appropriate amount of waiting and held down the power and volume down+up button. Instead of booting into Fastboot mode, it went straight to Odin Mode. All I can do with my device is boot to Odin Mode or watch the Nexus boot animation over and over again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm currently trying to root my GT-P7510, this is my first attempt at rooting.
I've been following a guide on androidauthority.
It all goes swimmingly until Odin3 hangs at SetupConnection.
So far to try and rectify this problem I have reinstalled the Samsung USB drivers and have tried using different versions of Odin3 (v1.85 and v1.87) all to no avail.
I'm running Windows Vista in VitualBox on Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS and have checked all the relevant settings and Windows can acess my USB ports/connected devices so I'm confident that it's not a problem with VirtualBox.

View 14 Replies View Relatedis there a way to set up my email (not gmail) to only download automatically over wifi? I receive a lot of work emails and it uses data unnecessarily when it downloads on my phone when I am at work. Ideal will be to only download when I change the setting. Don't want to turn of data completely because then all the other apps stop working too (WhatsApp, facebook etc.)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI do know that downloading on Wi-Fi is faster than using data (or so I've read). My question is if I start a download using data connection then turn Wi-Fi on will the download see the Wi-Fi and jump on that to speed up our do I have to start on Wi-Fi for it to use Wi-Fi?
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust FYI in case anyone wants to know: For download mode, with the phone turned off, fold the number 1 key on the QWERTY keyboard and the power button simultaneously For recovery mode, with the phone turned off, hold Volume Down, CAmera, and Power simultaneously. You navigate with volume UP/DOWN, select with HOME, Menu toggles to "Manual Mode", whatever that it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to download Life360 & it's stuck in downloading mode when I try to download it throught the play store. Nothing ever dowloads, I just see the horizontal bar with the download indicator "downloading".
When I try to get it downloaded from my computer to my phone by sending the link, I click on the link & get the message that it is already installed but then it starts trying to download the app with the message "Waiting for Wi-Fi". I don't use Wi-FI and I never knew this needed Wi-Fi to download. I dont' care to be charged for Wi-Fi.
How can I get this downloaded and why would I get a message that it is installed but get the above happening (i looked everywhere on my phone & it's not installed)?
I have the D-800 AT&T LG G2, It was rooted with KitKat 4.4.2. After I rooted my phone, I tried several different ways to install TWRP onto it. I tried FreeGee, adb shell, and straight from TWRP App, nothing worked, because when I tried to boot into TWRP it would just come up with the LG Logo and "Secure Boot Error" and "Certification Error" or something like that, then be a blank screen. I then just held the power button to turn it off, and it would turn back on and run fine, no problem. I figured it never installed right, and so I left TWRP alone. I know you are not supposed to take an OTA after install TWRP, but thinking TWRP never installed on the phone, I took the OTA, and now it will do the "Error" messages and blank screen, but my power off, power on trick doesn't work anymore. I can boot into Recovery Mode, but when I do a Factory Reset, the screen just goes blank. I have tried to put it into Download Mode by pressing Volume Up + Power when hooked up to a PC, but nothing happens. I feel as though its a tough brick.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been running varying versions of cyanogenmod 10.1 and 10.2 for about year on my T-Mobile Galaxy S3, but today I tried to update it to a version of 11 today without a computer, just on my phone through the standard Cyanogenmod built in rom updater. It downloaded fine, but when attempting to install it it had an error and stopped. Now the only thing my phone will do is boot into clockwork mod recovery mode, and download mode. The download mode won't be recognized by kies or my computer, though my computer does make a beep sound when I plug it in. I have tried a lot of things, but nothing at all will work so my phone is essentially bricked right now.

I have a major problem, because I can't use the recovery mode, because something is removed on the system level, that the recovery mode needs to start. (it isn't knox)
Also I can't boot up the system, because of an endless loop, when the device booted into the system, because there is also something removed.
I have now tried to install several other roms, all 4.2.2, but It still has the same errors, because the system doesn't get wiped and the bug remains even on a fresh rom. Stock or Custom. The Aroma Installer would work, but there isn't a rom with it, that is flashable via odin, only cwm.
Only download mode can be used to do something with the system.
So here are my questions:
What can I do, to erase/wipe the system only using the download mode (with odin/?/heimdall/ ?
Bonus: What exactly does the recovery mode needs to start...?
Bonus: Is there a flashable rom for the s4 that has the aroma installer ?
Bonus: Why most rom recently only use cwm to get installed ? (I guess it has alot more options and is easier to handle..)
Today I've bought a lightly used gt-i9082l for about 100 bucks.
I did check b4 buying that it will go into recovery mode and it looks like a real thing there. In the past I've seen s4 clones that won't do that, or if they go into recovery mode, something looks fishy in there.
This one goes into recovery mode.
It has two sim card slots. I did verify online both IMEI numbers - I used imei.info - it correctly identified the phone as Grand dous something. If it is a fake, then it's a pretty damn good one!
So, I'm pressing vol-down, home, and power.... Samsung lettering appears (no logo), and then it boot straight up....
When do I release the buttons?
my device is galaxy ace s5830i..i have already rooted my device and used CW Recovery and taken a copy of my original system.i wanted to set up a custom rom i restarted and reset and deleted the cash then installed the rom.i think it was Retribution beta then i wanted to update to that custom rom (MindCR ICS) all i did i restarted my phone of course went into R mode and reset and deleted the cash then installed that next custom rom .
after installing completed when i rebooted it only gave me (samsung galaxy ace s5830i) logo and doesn't open the system when i restart it doesn't go into recovery or download mode it only gives me again the same logo.i used odin v 1.81 and the latest version it doesn't recognize the phone and i can't go into download mode.
LGVS930 Spectrum 2
Lg mobile support tool cannot detect my phone while it is download mode. My phone is in security mode so I can not boot it.
I have tried switching ports and usb cords. not sure what else to do at this moment.
I got a LG Doubleplay from a friend and he tryed to flash a rom on it and it went bad, so i try to put it in download to restore the phone but it won't stay in download mode.
When i try to set it to download mode it starts but then after maybe 3 to 5 seconds the progress bar freezes and then the phone restarts.
All the phone does is stay at the lg logo
Following different tutorials on how to root my device, they all begin with instructing me to enter "download mode." They all seem to say that I need to press Power+Volume Down+Home and, when the warning screen appears, press Volume Up. Well, I hold down Power+Volume Down+Home (I check a video to make extra sure I was holding down the correct buttons) and all that the device ever does is continually display the initial splash screen, the reboot again. If I let go, the device goes into "manual mode" in which it prompts to reboot, update the device or factory reset it. Am I missing something?
