I own a nexus s (not relevant for the question) it runs the CM7 rom, now i want to return to the stock rom and its ICS version but all of the files that i find online are for updates so my question is how do i install the stock rom from scratch?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have seen the nexus 4 unroot toolkit, I have a Nexus 4 running 4.2.2, TWRP, and Franco.Kernel. i want to upgrade the Nexus 4 to 4.4 KitKat, i never had the chance to upgrade to 4.3 because i was rooted. I do not mind loosing my root, franco.kernel or twrp, i just want to be able to get the new updates that are being released from google, and OTA if possible. it is super important to me that i don't loose my apps and data.

So, i was looking for Firmware for Returning to Stock. and i found one, and used Odin3 to force update with the firmware,then i turned on my phone... and the screen said AT&T WORLD i accidental downloaded AT&T Galaxy S Captivates firmware... and now i cant go to 'Reset Factory Mode' or 'Downloading Mode'. can anyone help me? if i just can go to downloading mode, i can fix this. is there anyway to auto-goto downloading mode when you insert USB? like un-screwing the phone and doing something? i can take any-risk to fix this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got a CLN warranty replacement with the new bootloader (30.04) and was wondering if I can more or less return the phone to stock after un-rooting since there is no sbf for this bootloader yet or it hasnt been tested with the 2.2 sbf (BL 30.03).
What I was thinking would happen:
1. Root
2. Install Bootstrap
3. Create bare backup
4. Install ROMS, themes, etc.
5. Return to stock:
6. Restore bare backup
7. Unroot
8. Factory wipe
Would this work or would the bootstrap remain dormant cause its still in /system? Meaning the recovery could possibly come up while rebooting or something else?
I have rooted my captivate first using unleash the beast and then used ryan;s one click lag fix. I would love to get the new update but it will not work. My question is can I get some simple step by step method of returning my phone to stock so I can upgrade it? I know there are a ton of posts on this but some seem fragmented and people use explanations that seem to assume that the people reading them are at the same lever of understanding that they are. All I want do is return my phone to stock for update and then root is again in the easiest way possible without bricking my phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy work desktop running XP won't recognise my Nexus 4 when connected via USB. Have looked through various threads to try and find the answer and subsequently tried different USB ports, different cables etc but still comes up with the "found new hardware" wizard when plugged in. The cable and phone work when plugged into my laptop running Windows 7 so guess the problem must be with the desktop setup. The phone does charge when plugged into the desktop but the device is not recognised and I therefore do not have the option to explore.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSometimes (it's not usual, but sometimes it happens) my phone (Nexus one, CM7) runs quite slowly, and not fluent at all, just because of an app that is eating all the memory / processor. If I kill that app, problem solved.
When this happened the first time, I went to the running services section in settings, and I checked that the services listed are not ALL the running processes, so even if I kill all the services there, there are still running apps. Then, I tried to install several app killers, just to check if they kill all the running apps, but not only they don't list all the running apps, but also when killing all, there are still apps that keep running (like some games), and the only way I found to find them is checking one by one in the apps list, if they are running or not.
Is there any app to check at once ALL the running apps? I have looked for it, but all I have found are apps to do exercise ("running apps", D'oh!), and stuff like that?
I have a Nexus 7 running 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, with an unlocked boot loader and rooted. Since the 4.3 versions are now officially out, I was wondering how I would update. Is there any special process? Can I just use the normal OTA update service built-in? Will doing that lose my root and unlock? If possible, I'd prefer the most risk-free method, as I don't want to mess up my Nexus.

I've have a Nexus 7 2012 running 4.3. On a clean install, the running apps tab in the settings showed Used RAM equal to 450 MB.
After installing some apps, now the Used RAM shows to be 560 MB. I haven't installed apps that throw push ads or run background processes. I do have some free apps that show ads though.
I tried to stop cached processes an d running processes, bur that increased the RAM use. Even app ops doesn't list all my apps. Is there any way I can reduce this RAM usage?
how to disable the low battery alert audio? I have disabled the popup, but I would like to also disable the audio. I tried deleting the lowbattery.ogg file in the root media file, but then it just played a different audio file for the low battery. I am on a rooted Nexus 5 running 4.4.2

I'm using a Nexus One running 2.3.4 and it looks like the gmail app version is 2.3.4.2 and I've noticed they've now incorporated the 'Important Labels' functionality into the app.
Problem is, I don't like/use/desire the important labels and now they're cluttering up my inbox view with a little yellow chevron next to the sender's name and the 'go to inbox' in the menu has moved and where it was is a 'mark important'
I had a look through the settings and I don't have priority inbox as my default, under label's there is a sync option for 'Important' which is set to 'None'.
Also I don't have the important labels for the web version of gmail proper on.
I think I may have accidentally marked one email on my phone as important (because that's where the go to inbox button was) so perhaps that's why they are showing up?
Any way to turn off/hide the important labels. Really annoyed that Google is making me find out how to opt-out of this feature rather than just asking if I wanted to opt-in

View 5 Replies View RelatedI own a Nexus One running Froyo. I can just not rely on its battery status. The battery rapidly discharges when I use the phone, but then increases by some amount if I keep it in my pocket.
I have had a lot of instances when I have stopped using my phone when the battery level falls below 30%(battery color from green to yellow), only to find it green when I use it again.
I have rooted my phone, allowed the battery to die, reset its stats, but in vain.
I have a rooted Nexus S with Cyanogen 7.1.0.1 and I'm trying to get it back to stock. but the problem is that my phone won't recognize that it's being plugged into my PC. I have tried reinstalling the drivers and I have tried different USB ports and USB cables. Nothing seems to work. I have also tried restoring to an old backup I did months ago when there was nothing on the phone and it still won't recognize it.
Sometimes, very randomly, the PC will recognize that I've plugged in a device but it will automatically say that the drivers could not be installed.
My Nexus 7 came with stock 4.1.2 firmware.Is there any possible way to downgrade it from current 4.1.2 (stock) to 4.1 ?

This has also occurred in the Youtube app. I have tried changing my time manually, rebooting my device, and uninstalling updates, to no avail. View 5 Replies View RelatedRunning a Galaxy Nexus on Stock 4.1.1 (rooted).Last week, Play Store randomly started giving me the DF-BPA-09 Error when I wanted to download new apps. Old apps would update fine. I searched XDA and found that turning Google Sync Off and restarting the phone solved it. It worked once or twice, but the problem kept coming back.
Then read another thread that said go to All Apps > Play Store >Uninstall Updates and Clear Data. I did this, and now when I start Play Store, it permenantly gives me 'Server Error', with a Retry Button below it.I have Titanium Backup Pro, so tried restoring an older version, tried Freezing and Unfreezing the App, still not working.
DF-BPA-09 Error used to come, Cleared Play Store Data and now stuck at Server Error.
Any Touchwiz Xposed modules that allow me to get my TW notification shade to more closely resemble the Nexus/stock experience? And if not, at least make everything smaller so I can fit more in the screen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm experimenting with SIP/VOIP on my Android device (Galaxy Nexus). I'm using the SIP account settings in the stock dialer app, this works fine for dialing/voice.
The issue is there are no similar SIP settings for the stock SMS client... is this simply a feature that was not added for some reason? is there a technical reason why this is not possible? (other third party clients support it) or can the stock SMS client use SIP and I just can't figure it out?
I just bought a Samsung Nexus $G LTE phone for Verizon. Previous owner installed a custom cyanogenmod kernel. I don't care for this kernel or setup, how do I install the stock factory Verizon image? Is there an easy way to do it without bricking the phone?

edited the AudioService.smali file
generated classes.dex
merge classes.dex with framework.jar using 7-zip
push new framework.jar to my nexus5
change permission on framework.jar
I change the AudioService.smali so i can have 30 steps instead of the default 15 steps.The following is what i have after modifications.

Note that 0x1Et should give me 30 steps but my nexus 5 still only give me 15 steps on Music/Bluetooth.
Results:
I am still getting 15 steps while listening to music on both headphone jacks and Bluetooth devices.
I double check the total number of steps with some apps and confirmed that the original 15 was not changed.
I also double check if my framework.jar are pushed correctly by re-pulling the framework.jar and looking into the AudioServices file and they are all the newly modded values.
