Anyway to return everything to stock for warranty work? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
with the 2.2 OTA coming I decidied I would go back to the stock recovery and accept the OTA, well I was able to flash in HBOOT to get back to eveyrthing stock, it now says hboot .77, and the right radio, but when I reboot, it just boot loops, and wont load up, so I hboot and put clockwork back on since I have S-OFF, and tryed loading a nandroid and the same thing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently rooted and installed sirpsychos 99.1 recovery console. However I need to upgrade to 99.2b since thats the one most current ROMS need to run. How is this possible? I was not able to find a tutorial for upgrading the recovery console.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got a CLN warranty replacement with the new bootloader (30.04) and was wondering if I can more or less return the phone to stock after un-rooting since there is no sbf for this bootloader yet or it hasnt been tested with the 2.2 sbf (BL 30.03).
What I was thinking would happen:
1. Root
2. Install Bootstrap
3. Create bare backup
4. Install ROMS, themes, etc.
5. Return to stock:
6. Restore bare backup
7. Unroot
8. Factory wipe
Would this work or would the bootstrap remain dormant cause its still in /system? Meaning the recovery could possibly come up while rebooting or something else?
First off let me say that I was wrong about this issue. Its not an issue with Easy root it is just something built into android. So I apologize to anyone I argued this subject with but specifically Patch. Its also not an issue with rom manager. This applys to users that after flashing a custom recovery they can boot into it once but the next time you try to boot into recovery it has reverted to stock.
This mostly happens to users of easy root or users that use my guide for rooting using Linux
So for the fix.
Download this file and place it in the root of your sd card.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7223192/install-recovery.sh
Download Terminal Emulator from the market. The one by the dev Jack Palevich.
Open it and type the following commands.
su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
dd if=/sdcard/install-recovery.sh of=/system/etc/install-recovery.sh
chmod 550 /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
sync
after that just flash the custom recovery of your choice and you should be good to go.
I tested this on my phone and another user tested it for me and it worked for both of us. If anyone has an issue let me know. This issue is so sporadic that its hard to have people test the fix.

Pre-rooted Stock Froyo (2.10.405.2) [Optional mods] - xda-developers[/URL
But this is a zip file, unrevoked does only img files. I don't understand how to install the ROM from xda-developers.com, or the mods. The forum said install in recovery, how? When I tried to format partition my SD card, from ROM manager, the phone reboots into this recovery console thing, now what? When I reboot my phone out of there, nothing has happened to my SD card.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIm sending in my droid to verizon since my power button was not working and they sent me a replacement. Before I sent it in I wanted to remove root so I went into rom manager and chose a stock image to flash hoping it would do the job. Unfortunately, after I did it Superuser permission is still there. I would just use RSD Lite but since I cant get my phone to access the boot loader screen I cant get RSD Lite to recognize my phone. I was going to try to flash the older stock image from rom manager thinking maybe that would work but now when I try and flash any rom through rom manager I get this message; "an error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands". I also read that maybe quick boot would do the trick but it just force closes every time, making me think that maybe the phone isnt rooted but just has superuser permission listed(is that possible)? Is my phone still rooted?

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust last week I finally rooted my Motorola Droid (thanks for the help)! All was good until today when I woke up and the power button didn't work.It was intermittently working this afternoon, and now it does nothing.I was ready to unroot the phone so I could take it back to Verizon when I realized that I can't get into the bootloader screen without the power button.I tried holding the D-pad up while reinstalling the battery and I also tried the camera and volume down buttons while reinstalling the battery. The battery removal and reinstall just doesn't seem to be working to put it into the bootloader screen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have rooted my captivate first using unleash the beast and then used ryan;s one click lag fix. I would love to get the new update but it will not work. My question is can I get some simple step by step method of returning my phone to stock so I can upgrade it? I know there are a ton of posts on this but some seem fragmented and people use explanations that seem to assume that the people reading them are at the same lever of understanding that they are. All I want do is return my phone to stock for update and then root is again in the easiest way possible without bricking my phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just recently decided it was time to root my Droid. So after spending the last couple hours reading up on things so I'd actually know what I was doing and why I was doing it, I got started. Rooting was successful. Next was installing the SPRecovery. Slight hiccup:http://sp.sholes.info/flash_image
Link is broken! and I can't find any mirrors Where do I DL this?
On the original phone, I went back to stock using the "live without fear" .sbf file, to 2.01. I had attempted to also let it do the 2.1 update but it continually gets stuck on the M and won't proceed past that, so I again put the 2.01 sbf file on, and let the phone get to the "touch the droid to begin" screen. The phone has the original recovery on it, the box and explanation mark, no SPRecovery or clockwork. Can Verizon tell at this point that the phone was previously routed and charge me full price for the replacement?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIf you select MANUAL Location (and enter your ZIP Code), it unlocks two additional features that the automatic location folks don't have?
1. RADAR Button
2. Hour by Hour Forcast
To access, set your weather setup to manual, set it in the dock, and touch the weather wigit once it appears. Change it to automatic and repeat....buttons gone.
Would be nice if it were available for both!
QUESTION: We all have noticed the intermitant weather wigit over the past few weeks, but has anyone used (2) docks in two different locations (or dockrunner) and had it successfully change your city? I haven't had any success - BUT I am not sure if that is a bug or design...
just noticed today that when going back to my homescreen, the weather/clock takes a split second to re-appear. i have beautiful widgets weather, and this is the first time it has happened. batt pulled, rebooted, reloaded skins, and no luck.

View 13 Replies View Relatedok, so I put the PB31IMG file on my sdcard, and the dinc_ota. I changed dinc_ota to update. (I did not name the file update.zip.zip) I powered down, I entered bootloader, and it loaded the PB31IMG and whatever. then I hit volume down and selected recovery. this brought me to clockwork recovery. I noticed the isntructions said to boot into STOCK recovery. well, I like a dummy ignored that and tried to apply the update.zip thru clockwork.
This is what I got:
CODE:.......................
So, is this because I tried doing it through clockwork recovery? is it because I didn't apply the first OTA update we got? what does that mean exactly anyways? is it saying I need to install the leaked froyo ROM, and then update the radio? How do I boot into stock recovery and not clockworks recovery? does this count as applying the update.zip once, meening if I do it again I'll brick my phone? should I sell this thing and get a samsung flip phone because I'm too stupid to own a Dinc?
Download these three files and put them in the root of your sdcard. (You must have ADB on your computer)
File 1 : Download (rename to "update.zip")
File 2 : Download
File 3 : Download(Handler 1.5)
Step 1 : Boot into stock recovery (Camera+Power then select down) (press Alt + L to see options)and flash file one.
Step 2 : Load up ADB when the computer recognizes it type.

I then hit the up vol button and camera, and now I'm at the Android system recovery page and I don't know what to do next. These are my options reboot system now apply sdcard:update.zip wipe data/factory rest wipe cache partition wipe base band data. I did click to backup current ROM and wipe data and cache.
