General :: Install DBA Interface With Hisense Sero 7 Pro
Jun 28, 2013
I have been struggling to root my new tablet for 2 days now without success.
I also have apple devices and jailbreak them for years without any problem but today I am completly stucked.
I am unable to intall correctly the ADB Interface... It is impossible.
I tried to install, desinstall, reinstall many times the usb drivers. Restart the computer many times...
I tried the SDK android tool with installation of the USB driver package v7.
I still have an exclamation point on the device !!
When I try to install the drivers, it always tells me:
"An error occurs during the hardware installation A service installation section of the INF file is not valid".
I am under XP 32 bits SP3.

okay, so i have this hisense sero 7 lite my brother gave me, the device works fine in the flat postion, lieing on a table not to be tilted..
if it gets tilted it freezes forever.
i did an adb logcat, never logged an error.
so im thinking it just has a broken tilt sensor, is there a way to disable it?

My sero pro produce random false touches when connected to computer via usb cable. That makes it very inconvinient to use for development. It does not have this problem when the cable is not connected. That is most apparent when "Show touches" is turned on in developer settings.
I opened it up looking for loose joints on usb or digitizer ports, but everything seems good with that.

I have a Sero 7 Pro that has a 32GB micro SD card. I would like to take it with me to the deer lease so I can back up all my trail cam pics to the 32GB card. So I got a micro USB to female USB adapter. Plugged a 16GB SD card into a card reader and plugged it into my adapter. The Sero 7 will not see the memory card at all. I have tried all the free usb mount apps and usb mass storage apps on Google play. I even rooted my tablet last night and it still won't see the memory card or my Verbatim flash drive (all formatted as FAT32).

So, my question is just what the title says. It's probably an incredibly stupid question, but i'm curious nonetheless.
Everyone keeps saying that the Hisense Sero 7 Pro has hardware that's basically identical to the Nexus 7 (grouper), besides the sd card slot, and I was wondering if it's possible to install a rom that's meant for one, on the other.
The main reason I ask is i'd like to install AOKP, PA, or even Ubuntu Touch on my Sero Pro, but I can't find a way to do this.
Even if there are roms that I haven't found yet that work on the Sero, I'm still curious about my original question...

I have a Sero 7 Pro, and for some odd reason, the camera stops. Doesn't stop working, just goes black. I have to stop recording and restart. Sometimes it will record for hours, other times for 20 to 30 seconds. I use it as a dash cam and it's getting irritating.

I have a Hisense HS-U909 running Android 4.0 which I'm attempting to root. However I can't seem to find any Custom ROM's which support the HS-U909. Would I just be able to use a Custom ROM for a phone which has similar specs to the HS-U909 or would that essentially make the phone a paperwieght?

There have been other threads for carrier jumpers but I just wanted to see how many people are finally getting off of the old SERO plans because of the EVO. I was tempted for awhile to get a Touch Pro 2 and stay on SERO but eventually decided to get the EVO. It's going to be about double what I'm currently paying but the way I see it it's still a better deal than what the other carriers offer for a phone that has a list of features that very few phones can match.Sprint is probably going to be REALLY happy to see me off of that plan!

In apps like Gmail and Franco's kernel updater, there is a new interface element that brings out a drawer on the left side on Phone DPI that on Tablet DPI is a split screen.
Is this something that has to be programmed into the app, or something that can be edited into older apps? Mainly I would like that interface in the stock Email application.

My wife's vehicle has a USB port into which she can plug the USB cable for her iPhone and play here music through the car stereo. Is there a cable that will allow for this on my Android device. Specifically, I have the Bionic. I didn't think it would play media through the USB port, and I didn't think there is an HDMI to USB cable, but I wanted to check.

Very often I find myself needing to reset or get around someone's Windows Password, the easiest way of course is with one of many available linux boot cd's that'll edit the windows system hive. However most of the time I'm not carrying this around, I have a USB stick that can be used but I noticed earlier that while my Nexus One was plugged into the USB port on boot it is detected by my bios.
So the question is - Can the android USB interface act as a boot device? If so I assume it'd need a different partition since it's already got an OS?
(Also while I have your attention: 1) Did they ever fix the +1 area code problems with contacts?, 2) Why don't half my contacts show up in Send MMS dialogue (and others)?, 3) How do I tell if I have an SLCD or AMOLED screen cos sometimes the screen looks really crappy (dithering or off colour banding) AND FINALLY 4) can you set notification sounds differently depending on time of day (ie; I don't want a new gmail alert to wake me up at 2am.

Is there a place where I could find open source examples of User Interfaces for android apps. Like a project containing custom buttons, isons, sound effect, a nice layout with multiple blank activities that serves as a skin for your app. Strangely I didn't find anything like this whereas there are plenty of themes.

I've been going over the android sdk for the past year to find out if there is a way to change the network type(2g/3g/4g), in phones with root access. However I couldn't find any way to do this.Asking around, someone told me that I could do this using reflection,by calling a method on a phone instance.Looking through the source code,I did find a setPrefferedNetworkType(); method in the Phone Interface, inside the internal telephony package. Is there anyway I can use this to solve my problem.I can't seem to find a way to get an instance of a class that implements the interface.Or is there any other way to do it entirely?

My OEM's preloaded rom is almost-nearly stock, apart from 2 things:
1. White background on "system settings" interface and not the default holo. Cant that be changed to default?
2. Ribbon effect instead of flash-light in holo effect, which tbh is quite annoying, because the ribbon effect is also quite large and in slower animation speed so that,s 1 second of frustation everytime i scroll to the end. (Yea, 1 second isnt much but, add those up and it gets annoying really fast)
How can these be changed back to default without installing a custom rom?

I'm having hard times getting my GL thread (from GLSurfaceView) to trigger some code execution within the UI thread (from Activity). I tried it in every possible way (well not every, I missed at least the good one) none worked.
My idea was to get something called from the UI thread (to update some widgets) when the surface is effectively created. So I added to my onSurfaceCreated method the following call:
CODE:.............
This compiles, but when my GLSurfaceView sub-class is constructed a NoClassDefFound exception is thrown, telling me that the class com.my.package.MyGLSurfaceView$1 is not found.
Here's the log:
CODE:.............
The line 297 in MySurfaceView.java is:
private Runnable mUpdater = new Runable () { public void run () { [...] } };

I am building an app for Android 2.1 that provides notifications based on calendar events. But I'm aware there are issues with the Calendar API not being readily available / stable / whatever. What I'd like to do is somehow communicate with the user's Google Calendar to get a list of tasks every few hours, or perhaps when the calendar is updated, and then store that data locally so they don't need to have an active Internet connection at all times. Then at a particular time, the notification event would occur. Surely, someone must have determined a way to interface with Google Calendar? I'm sure there must be numerous apps and solutions available that connect to it already, and my users can use any interface they like for interacting with it, but I need to be able to read the data and store it locally.

Which do you guys use? Torrent Off: BarTor vs. Torrent Droid. I bought both and forgot to test them out, so I can't refund either. But I want to know which one I should go through the trouble of configuring. What has the nicer interface? Best performance? Does Torrent Droid use the Browser to do all of its torrent searches?
