I have been using a Pantech Sky Vega racer 2 but it just get Android 4.1 and I would like to upgrade to 4.2 or 4.4 (the best one). How can I upgrade for my device ? or That brand should buy your license to upgrade that version ? the Android 4.2 is a lot of better than 4.1 and a lot of app I need to use so how can i get that upgrade for my self of my business ?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had the Swype "Trial" for a while now, but have not used it. I decided to start using it just to give it another go. (After watching that guy crush the World Record for Texting using Swype). I long pressed for input method, selected swype, and attempted to use. I got a "Your trial has ended please upgrade your version of swype." I have looked everywhere and am not able to find a different version of the one that I have. I have tried another download of it and get the same result. Is there another version of it out there that I am not seeing or am I just stuck until they reopen beta or just release the app?

A new build of Android contains system.img and userdata.img (among others). system.img is read-only, so I don't see any problem with simply replacing the user's existing copy. However, simply overwriting userdata.img with a newer version would destroy all of an end-users application data (wouldn't it?).
I'm trying to understand how this process will work for our Android- based device. It seems that the designers of Android must have had a plan for doing this without the user losing all of their data, but I can't find any documentation about this. Googling for this information yields lots of pages containing hacker- level instructions (e.g. adb commands) -- still no idea how this process was envisioned to work for average end-users.
I'm due for an upgrade. I currently have the env 3. I plan to use the phone for apps and the internet mostly. I don't make many phone calls (less than 20-30 min/day) and don't expect to use it a ton. i would like for it to have a great battery life and probably an actual keyboard (but not a necessity). what would be the best model? is there a model coming out soon i should consider? i saw the droid pro, would this be a good choice (like the keyboard, but it has a smaller screen)

Regardless of the sanity of my decision the device saves me about 2 hours per day (I use it mainly to read pdf and build an xls database).
I've converted many apk to bar in order to sideload them to my device (not all of these work). Recently I tried Firefox on my Xperia mobile and was quite pleased with the ABP plugin So I tried to convert the apk but both the apk2bar and the Blackberry Graphical Aid Tool complain that the version number is too long...
How to shorten it? In what file is it located?
When I installed the latest version of Android on my Droid, my Swype stopped working (again!). When I re-installed it now it says I have to upgrade Swype as the trail is over. I looked on their web site, butI don't see any way of upgrading. Is there a way around the need to upgrade or how do I get the upgrade?

Is it time to upgrade to something new? I can't really complain about IC3ROM, as with Launcher Pro, it has been great. I don't particularly like the idea of starting over, but if there's something out there worth it, I'd give it a go. Opinions? I don't really care about Verizon's interface as I always replace it with launcher pro, but performance and stability is #1 concern.

- 1st simple version to download using a OTA server, clients accesss to an URL to download.
- 2nd version more complex to be published on the Market.
The question here is that the process to publish on the Android Market is under bureaucratic internal process and it takes a long time, so the idea do reduce the time to market is to provide an OTA version.
There is any possibility for users that download application via OTA to upgrade the application for version published later on the Market? (Both Application will be signed with the same key).
While creating a new android project in eclipse 3.5, i have selected Android 2.1 Update1 as build target. But i forgot to give the mini SDK version. Now when the build the project, its giving a warning message "WARNING: Application does not specify an API level requirement!Device API version is 8 (Android 2.2)"
The application is running fine..but when i run that application is my Samsung Galaxy S which is having android 2.1, the application is behaving differently.
I have even tried adding
<uses-sdk minSdkVersion="7" /> in the manifest file..But still i am getting the warning message..
So how can i change the mini SDK of my project in eclipse to 7,so that i get the same result in my emulator and Mobile phone?
Can anyone help with android 2.2 silent/vibrate mode issues? Before the Andriod 2.2 upgrade the toggle, could turn volume up and down, change to vibrate, and change to silent; however, now with Andriod 2.2, you can only turn volume down and switch to either vibrate or silent, you cannot choose which on you would like. I want to be able to select vibrate or silent just from using my toggle switch instead of having to go into setting every time.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI know this is a rather odd question, but, I know that on the damageless rom, it defaults to locate for GSM Radio Towers. Now, I know there is two HTC Hero devices, The Eris (GSM Version) and the Hero (CDMA Version), however the ability to search for different towers in the Damageless rom has me intrigued on if it is possible at all.
Why I ask is, I am going out of the country, specifically to the carribean islands and mexico. I am wondering if it is at all possible to use it like that. I really doubt it because I don't think that the CDMA version is backwards compatible with the GSM version, but I thought I might as well ask.
The android contacts app seems to be made for non UK countrys as it does not have a region or postcode option in the address form it only has state and zipcode.
My question is how would I edit this?
I don't like Samsungs version of the lock-screen and would like to have the stock Android version where you can unlock and mute the device. Is it possible to change this with the Luncher Pro or any other program as well?
