Apparently I had the courage to root my device using clockwork mod using the i717 method. It was successful and I had superuser installed.
I attempted to install cyanogenmod and it failed. At the restore center (you hold down both volume rockers and the power button), it shows the android robot dead with a red exclamation mark when I attempted to install from a zip file. Fortunately, my phone was able to boot up without issues.
Just now, I installed a root checker app and it says that my phone is not properly rooted. How to unroot? I can jailbreak my itouch with no issues but this is very complex for me.

I recently moved and had the opportunity to view my TV-channels on my phone. However it is required to have a device who is not rooted, and I don't really want to unroot just to view tv on my phone.
Any small program, script etc. which can tell the app that the phone is unrooted, even though it is rooted? My phone is a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, running stock unlocked and unrooted JB yakju 4.2.2.

Well, I'm about to root my Sony Ericsson Xperia Active, but the Build Number is 4.0.2.A.0.62 and I'm about to flash into 4.0.2.A.0.42 and root using Flashtool. So, I searched for some app in Google Play but only rooted phone seem to be able to backup App+Data. So, is there any way to backup App+Data on Unroot Android Device? Or maybe there are some method to root my phone without flash into 4.0.2.A.0.42?

I bought a samsung galaxy gt n7005 and the software was full of bugs with android 4.0.4.
Then I made a big mistake because I rooted with android 4.1.2 but for ata. Everything was working except the phone functionality
Since then the bed luck followed me and I try to install the 4.0.4 again and didn't work.
I would like to install jelly bean, I don't mind custom rom. If is not possible to install jelly bean it's fine even with android 4.0.4

I have a rooted HTC one and I am unable to download and install any upgrades my carries sends out.. I just get a message each time saying the installer was corrupted, as a result im thinking of going back stock and unrooting.
I am reasonable computer literate but have little experience with phone modding. At present when I boot the phone holding power and the vol down.. This is the info I get.

I have a Galaxy Note 2 (GT-N7105) rooted on CM 10.1 on 4.2.2. Prior to this I was on stock 4.1.1. How would I go about unrooting and going back to stock 4.1.1. Is this even possible? Also if/when back on official firmware, would I be able to then update to 4.1.2 via the Samsung update feature?

I have an LG spectrum and I want to root it very badly. However, with an android 4.0 update in the near future, I am afraid that rooting my phone will not allow me to get ice cream sandwich in about a month or so.
I am planning on rooting manually, using an article I found.
Before I root though, I would like to know if I can (or need to) unroot in order to receive an OTA update android 4.0 from verizon or if I need to take my phone in to get fixed for any reason.

I've recently rooted my Alcatel One touch t'pop otherwise known as 4010A with Ishauji Root tool and it worked but i was not pleased with the result my phone started moving like my old Toshiba laptop with windows xp "very slow" so i searched for an unroot tool for days; i couldn't find any and to make matters worst the root tool was Japanese or Chinese i think, doesn't matter i couldn't really understand it, the superuser was also in that language; so i did some more research and found this:

Now let me make myself clear i used this and it said it would reboot my phone when finished, it took long so i rebooted manually "not saying thats what you should do" but when the phone turned on all was normal and it was successfully unrooted "yay!!!"
It worked for me hope it works for you, just download it, if you use computer to download then just put it on sd card and install to phone and press unroot and in a matter of time your unrooted hope it works for you. I do not know the risks of it failing but it worked on first try.

Unroot Galaxy S2 Plus I9105/P. I have tried odin to flash stock firmware for unrooting but odin failed to do so. Errors When i select PDA(.md5) File downloaded from samsung-updates.com>>Incorrect Parameters When I Select .tar file by removing md5 extension.>>Odin communicator has stopped working. One week ago i bought my first smartphone, Samsung I9001, i had no ideea what to do with it, so when i connected it to my laptop via Kies it asked me if i want to upgrade my firmware. I did it and at 3% stoped working. So i searched the web for solutions, i found that Odin program, and i installed android 2.3.6. I was really happy that i solved the problem, but then i found out that my warranty could be lost because i rooted my phone, and it apears also in Menu-About Phone-Kernel Version. So now i dont know how to unroot it, and install an official firmware, and what version of the firmware do i need, to have my warranty back.
