Well, I'm about to root my Sony Ericsson Xperia Active, but the Build Number is 4.0.2.A.0.62 and I'm about to flash into 4.0.2.A.0.42 and root using Flashtool. So, I searched for some app in Google Play but only rooted phone seem to be able to backup App+Data. So, is there any way to backup App+Data on Unroot Android Device? Or maybe there are some method to root my phone without flash into 4.0.2.A.0.42?

I attempted to install cyanogenmod and it failed. At the restore center (you hold down both volume rockers and the power button), it shows the android robot dead with a red exclamation mark when I attempted to install from a zip file. Fortunately, my phone was able to boot up without issues.
Just now, I installed a root checker app and it says that my phone is not properly rooted. How to unroot? I can jailbreak my itouch with no issues but this is very complex for me.

I recently moved and had the opportunity to view my TV-channels on my phone. However it is required to have a device who is not rooted, and I don't really want to unroot just to view tv on my phone.
Any small program, script etc. which can tell the app that the phone is unrooted, even though it is rooted? My phone is a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, running stock unlocked and unrooted JB yakju 4.2.2.
When I try to recover my apps using Titanium Backup's "Extract from Nandroid" feature, it says "Could not find any data in this TWRP backup"

Can I unroot from that first nand and go back to non-rooted if i choose to or do I have to go another route to unroot and be back to non rooted? I have searched and all I can find is downgrading back to 1.5 and I don't want to go back that far. This is purely hypothetical If I ever want to go back to original for purposes of selling the phone or having to send it back to the Big V.

I bought a mytouch yesterday off craigslist, the kid said he had someone root it for him on 2.2 Before he gave it to me, he did a factory data reset to erase all his contacts, messages, info, etc. He gave it back to me and I had to set up the phone all over again (make a google account), so when I had that setup, I went to look up the phone info and saw that the firmware version was now 1.6. Could this have caused it to unroot?

When I have a new computer, I take out the main HDD and make an image or boot with an Acronis boot disk and make an genuine image, can I do something similar with Android devices?
Is EFS the system image or just the system files, restoring an EFS backup is enough to make a device bootable again without Root?
Windows PC suitable for this? ADB I guess...
Perhaps it's not possible because I haven't see any topic about making an genuine image before first start of an new device or restoring a factory image... Every time Root is involved.

i use titanium backup and it backs up app + data which is unnecessary and takes time, for example: you have a 100 MB game on your tablet, you want to back up the game progress, so you can upload to dropbox, on your phone you just need to download that data backup and continue playing on your phone,with titanium backup you have to backup all 100 MB of app + data and upload that 100 MB to dropbox and you waste your time and even money (if you're on 3G/4G)so is there any app that back up app data only? while titanium back up let you restore app + data or data only, i can't understand why it can't let you back up app data only, maybe the dev thinks people always back up everything, not just app data.

I have several apps that I don't want to lost my data for-high scores, levels, etc-and I can't figure out how to transfer all of that. I tried My Backup Pro, but it has to have root access to transfer data (It'll move the APK files, but really, I can do the same thing from the google play store!). I am so frustrated right now, because I love my new phone, but I REALLY don't want to have to start over on some of my apps. (I play several RPGs...lots of hours in those!) Fortunately all Contacts was restored, but all Calendar entry and all Notes was deleted, and She never perform a backup.

I have 2 tablets, both rooted. Flytouch 5 (Tab-1) and Ainol Novo Elf-2 (Tab-2). Tab-1 has built-in GPS while Tab-2 doesn't have it. But sadly wifi/ethernet on Tab-1 isn't working since I resetted the device for the first time.
I have titanium backup installed in both tabs and I have sygic maps installed in tab-2 (which doesn't have GPS) but I can't download maps to tab-1 because it requires internet connection that I dont have on that tab. Now what I want to do is to make a complete backup of the sygic application + map data/additional files from tab-2 and restore it to tab-1 so that the app doesn't ask me to download even a single byte of data.
I tried normal titanium backup but I was asked to download additional data on Tab-1. I know I must've done something wrong because I'm new to titanium backup.
A flashable zip i can use through recovery that will backup all downloaded apps in /data/app and the application data that goes with the applications.
