Jelly Bean :: No Smart-Rotation After Update To 4.3?
Dec 4, 2013I just got OS4.3 pushed to my Samsung Galaxy S3 and noticed the "eye" symbol in my notification bar. The icon remained there even though Smart-Stay wasn't enabled and I have no Smart-Rotation feature showing on my phone when I go into Settings->My Device->Smart Screen. Instead, the "Eye" icon disappears when I disable my screen rotation. My coworker, on a different wireless/phone carrier, got the 4.3 upgrade last week (on his Galaxy S3) and HAS the Smart-Rotate option in his settings.
I don't wan't the camera active and draining battery just because I have screen-rotation enabled.

Nov 30, 2012I just picked up a Viewsonic Viewpad e100 tablet and would like to root this thing. It is running ICS 4.0.3 and i believe its a bit branded/customized from viewsonic. I am still a bit new to rooting and i have tried a few tools out there but nothing seems to work. I have tried superoneclick and it appears to randomly say its rooted but fails on copying stuff. It will say its rooted but it isnt. then i run it again and it says it isnt rooted and attempts it. it just seems like its random. Ran through a few scripts I found on other forums relationg to the viewpad 10e and 7 but it seems like the folder structure may be a bit different. But, my experience in linux is minimal so ya...there it is.

Mar 27, 2014i have rooted my galaxy note 8 with framaroot jus to use a mouse and keyboard emulator no to do anyhing technical or some ROM things and then i " regretfully" have updated the device to jelly bean 4.2.2 and now i am lost im not rooted and though i have the supersu app installed and stuck , it cannot be uninstalled.i have ried to use root manager to remove the file from inside , it tells me it has been removed however it is not also it cannot be opened it tels me " there is not SU binary installed , and superSU canot install it , this is a problem" tried to re-root the devise again , downloaded the latest framaroot . i doesnt work and tells me " failed ry anoher exploit if available" all of the other options are giving me the same thing.

I heard it comes rooted but i used a rooter checker app and it says it isnt rooted.
I have tried rooting it with Oneclick,UnlockRoot and SRS Root and they all said rooting was successful but again i check with the app and it says its not rooted.
I have installed superuser and tried to update the binary but it just says getting root access failed.

Jun 25, 2013I have a Pantech Flex P8010. I never thought it would be updated to jb. So I rooted it. Removed all bloated applications from it. Changed the recovery to CWM. I haven't taken any back up before the bloat removal. All I have is the cwm backup of the debloated version.
Now Pantech have released the jb ota. Is there any way to update the phone to jb with the root privilege? Is there any way to return to complete stock? Will the recovery and boot loader image available in the forums be useful?

Apr 3, 2014I have a Star Note N9770 which had a smashed display - daughter knelt on it. The phone still appeared to work, though we couldn't see anything. I bought a "bricked" N9770 on eBay and used the display unit from that (it really was bricked - wouldn't turn on or charge) to replace the smashed unit.
We now have a display and everything appears to work and it charges. Except for the colours on the display - they are very pale/faint/washed out (hard to describe but the full range of colours doesn't appear in the display - just mostly greens and pinks and all a bit grainy). I've tried the brightness and contrast levels, factory reset, hard reset, etc, but it makes no difference.
I'm guessing that this display unit is slightly different from the original, even though all the connections were identical and tbh, it reminds me of a driver issue in a PC.
Jelly Bean :: HTC First Can't Get SU Or Root Android 4.1.2
Nov 17, 2013Trying to root the phone. I'm not a linux pro... but I can't get the su binaries in the /system/bin folder. It won't let me mount the system saying 'Over-lap error'.
AND When I run deamon, it will start, then it will say it doesn't exist. But it's in the bin folder. Not the su though. Also, I can't connect to HTC through their software to sync or unlock the bootloader.
