View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Vodafone Smart Chat (half touchscreen, half physical keyboard, blackberry style) and I am constantly out of internal memory, even though I have about 3 very small apps installed that aren't factory installed. I have an 8gb card in it of my own, however, whenever I install an app it first needs to be installed to internal memory first, according to Vodafone, so due to lack of space available nothing can be installed.
Apps that I have installed say they are on the external card, but I notice that when installing/un-installing, the internal memory increases/decreases by the storage amount the app uses.
I haven't been able to find the required software to root it.
just purchased the new ViewSonic VSD241 and want to root it. It has the NVIDIA Tegra 3 1.7GHz quad-core processor and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS.

The only way to connect to the Internet is through a VPN connection (PPTP), but it bothers me a bug in Android. The error I'm getting in the log is as follows:
Creating PPPoX socket
Socket () Protocol not supported.
I found a patch for it, and the manufacturer provides kernel available for download.Patch is here: code.google.com/p/android-x86/issues/detail?id=451...I tried to manually apply patch. I replaced some code in files if_pppolac.hi if_pppopns.h. But I do not know how compile kernel
I also tried to install latest fw update, several alternative ROMs and several VPN clients but nothing worked. always the same error: Socket () Protocol not supported. The best would be if I could put Jelly bean on box. In Jelly Bean pptp works fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI could not find an answer to unbrick my android smart tv player. The player does not boot I believe since ther is no picture on the screen and it does not show any reaction on inputs from the remote (usually the LED on the front blinks at input). Only the power button on the remote works and turns the device on and off. Thats it
I found several solution to unbrick Android Players which have a hidden button behind the AV jack, but those are different models that have different ports. I also tried holding down Vol- Home and Power on the remote to get into recovery, but it doesn't work. I attached pictures of my device.
Is there a way to boot into recovery using USB or SD Card. The dievice has 2 USBs and a SD Card slot. Or any other way to unbrick or factory reset it.
I recently noticed that Google Play's smart update feature (where you only download the "updated" portion of an app) doesn't seem to be working anymore. Lately, when I've gone to update an app, I'm downloading the whole app anew, rather than some portion of it.

I have an old D2 that my wife wants to use. She currently uses a dumb phone. She doesn't want a data plan, doesn't want the smart phone features. She just wants to use it for calling & texting.
Is there any way at all that can happen? Or does any smart phone, even older ones or unlocked ones, need a data plan?

Looking for possibly undeleting a few pictures I took yesterday on my Galaxy 4S smart phone.
I know the directory where I need to do the undeleting but none of the un-delete programs I have gathered will show anything that makes sense when it comes to the phone.
When i plug in the phone to my computer I get 2 directories..
Phone and Card (card is my 32gb micro sd)
The pictures I would need to try undeleting would be in the following directory: ComputerSCH-I545PhoneDCIMCamera
I cannot find a way to have any undelete program scan that portion to recover files... I have even taken out the micro sd card which did not matter ..
I currently don't have a slow smartphone but when I had my original Droid it would really slow down until I put a new or updated rom on it. Even if I rebooted it it would still be slow. I now have the Droid Bionic and it's really fast but will it someday get slow? I guess I don't understand the smartphone technology very well, yet. Is there or will there be some sort of software that you can run that will speed it back up?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am reviewing the Samsung Rugby Smart, and I don't want to ask my media contacts about the CPU.
I have found out the RAM is 354 MB, and the CPU is a Qualcomm Single-Core 1.4 GHz processor with the Adreno 205 GPU.
How to figure out which Qualcomm processor it is? Pretty sure it is an S2, but which one? I'm thinking maybe the same one in the G2, but I want to know for sure.
I really like Smart Launcher and I'm just done customising it but everytime I open an app it just starts from the start.
I'm reading some stuff in Reddit Sync, I press the home button to quickly check another app and when I go back to Reddit Sync (or any other app) it doesn't resume from where I left. Of course I can open up my recents and go from there but I'm wondering if this behavior is normal?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe Samsung Gravity Smart has extremely limited internal memory. The new Playstore App automatically installs itself every time I download another app. Then, I have to remove the Playstore app before I do anything else, because the Playstore app has consumed all of the memory.
Isn't there something that I can do to stop the Playstore app from installing itself?

View 3 Replies View Relatedwhy my Android's internal storage is full. I don't think I have anything on there except for the 18 stock apps I have (including apps like titanium backup, and Link2SD that came with my ROM). I've gotten rid of all the bloatware on the phone, deleted most of my cache, and moved all of my downloaded apps to the SD card. I've even gone as far as to replace the web browser with Opera mini (and put it on the SD card), and prevented the device from installing a 10 MB update for the google play store. Even though the phone only has 14 MB (138/152 MB), I would think that would be more than enough to receive text messages. The phone doesn't even want me to do that.
I do have a few thoughts as to what could be causing this problem. First off, even after I've deleted an app via titanium backup, the app still appears in titanium backup with a line through it. This leads me to believe that the app still has data left on the phone. Second, I'm thinking Link2SD isn't actually moving all of the app to the SD card. In that case, I guess I don't have any choice but to remove all of my extra apps.
I actually have one solution that may or may not work. If I could somehow make the device treat my extra (32 GB) SD card into thinking it's the phone's external storage, then I wouldn't have to worry about overloading it at all. Would this work flawlessly?
Here's some extra information that may or may not be useful.
