View 5 Replies View RelatedIm really stuck, my phone is rooted, is deleted something that i didn't know was important(with titanium backup pro) and it failed everytime to restore, so i tried to reset my phone to default setting.
But guess what, my phone boot but stop at "the application settings(process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Force close )
I got a back up of the original rom that i made with clockworkmod so i would like to restore it. But i cannot boot in systeme recory mode
i tried:
vol up/down + home + power = no result
vol up/down + back + power = yellow and it says "emergency mode!! but nothing happen"
I just rooted my android (LG p500) and was removing bloatware using titanium backup. I accidentally deleted something which caused the homescreen to go black with no widgets showing, I cant even see the menu. I can still see and work with the top bar. When the phone is locked I can see the wallpaper I had but as soon as I unlock it goes black again.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently did this and now I'm unable to run custom ROMs on my Optimus One:
>Downgraded baseband (so as to install ICS ROM by DaxElectro
>Then installed the above mentioned ROM and I loved it!!!
>But later found some limitations of it. (The SIM that I was using didn't let me access internet over this ROM. Other SIMs worked fine). I thought of telling to the developer about it.
>So I installed original, official Gingerbread 2.3.3 firmware V20c (India) again, through the backup created using Clockworkmod Recovery and also upgraded the baseband.
Later I wanted to show my friends the ICS ROM as they all wanted to see it. But before flashing that ROM, I wanted to try mik_os's Cyanogenmod on my phone and test it.
>I installed that but this ROM gave a boot loop error (of course I had again downgraded the baseband) I thought it is buggy so I removed and flashed DaxElectro's ICS ROM again, thought it would work fine as before.
But, now even this ROM is giving the same error!!! I'm very upset as I'm not able use it now!
How to fix this???
Yes but my official firmware is working fine and I posted this using that only.
i want to flash the kernel on my super stock p500 to fix the touchscreen lag bug cuz it's really bugging me and junk. i'm going to use "flash image gui" to flash the kernel cuz it sounds pretty safe.
remember, i have a super stock, lg p500 (optimus one) running froyo 2.2.
My current GS3 apparently had water damage, and a new one is coming from the insurance tomorrow. I figured that since the warranty is up and the insurance won't replace it again, I may as well finally root and flash a custom rom. From my poking around the internet, I like CyanogenMod 10.1. I am on AT&T.
I've only attempted a root once before with this current phone, which I think worked, but I abandoned the project months ago and don't remember. In any case, besides that, I've never rooted or flashed a rom before.
After further poking around on the internet, these are the sources I'm planning on using to successfully root and rom:
Rooting: How to Root the Samsung Galaxy S3 " XDA Developer TV " xda-developers
And for the ROM, I'm going to follow this video:
I understand that after rooting, I have to create a backup (using that Titan Backup app in the video I think?" and i am going to use Goo Manager to download the ROM and gapps. I saw another video that had me move files from the computer to my phone, but they didn't do any backing up, and apparently that's necessary.
What does it mean to "trip a flash counter"? And what is a toolkit, and do I need it?
Last month I follow the steps in thread of LG P500 to install Custom Recovery but it let my LG P698 become brick. I claim to LG Service and get a replacement but keep to search solution. Today I get one thread here URL....I download and follow each steps carefully and now my P698 has install CWM Recovery successfully and no more brick.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI flashed the official nightly build of CyanogenMod on my Samsung Galaxy Ace.
The root explorer just closes when I try to open it. So I removed it, and installed it via an apk, same issue.
And when I download it from the market, it says it's "Purchased", but when I try to download it, it gives me a 403 error.
I have a LG L45C and I am trying to root it and get Superuser to run, but without any luck after 2 days. I am very new to adroids and cannot figure out how to do it. It all started with Titanum Backup and the message "ROOM is not rooted" and "attempted was made using su command".
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there any word when a method to root and install custom firmwares on the Arc (such like Cyagonmod or something)?
I've tried just about most of the common methods I've found so far, and I've gotten nothing.
The only thing I can think of is the fact that the Arc is suspiciously similar to the Nexus 7, so can look into root and see if a port can be made for the Arc.
I have been Using Sony Xperia Phones and rooting & installing CWM on those phones is fairly very easy (unlocking bootloader and just installing a Kernel Using Flashtool which comes with CWM and root) ...... However, i recently bought this phone:

Its running on Jelly Bean 4.2.1 and has Quad Core MTK 6589 chipset ...
So I followed the tutorial found here: Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100G: How to root on Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread and install ClockworkMod Recovery
I did option #1 and set up my device, and the program said the phone was set up. Now every time I turn my phone on a boot screen comes up with a yellow triangle with a yellow ! in the middle.
I can't go the the special boot (where you hold up, down, and power) and I can't do anything at all.

I am able to boot into the Stock Recovery mode (Volume + and power button) but unable to install CWM(tried several versions for U8510), SU, Custom ROM etc cuz it says signature verification failed even though I tried cmw zip files which were signed.

To install jager's froyo rom does my Incredible need root? Or can I simply install it. According to what I have encountered I do not have sufficient permissions to run the "update.zip" for the rom. Can anyone help?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid Incredible on the way and it should be here in about 2 weeks *crosses fingers*.I want to get all the software I will need downloaded ahead of time, and I am confused about the order in which to do things.I have previously rooted and installed roms on my wife's Motorola Droid so I am somewhat familiar with the process. My plan is to have a rooted and OTA updated Incredible running 2.1 until there are 2.2 roms that function well with the camera. What I need to know is what order to install things. Do I install the leaked OTA update and then root?Is the OTA update officially out yet, and if so should I just wait for that to download and install before rooting?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI woke up this morning to have a 2.2 system update available, but I don't wanna lose root by installing it. First of all I rooted using mejdam 10 minute root on youtube and I originally only wanted it for the flashlight and the WiFi tether, I rely on my WiFi tether now and well I want 2.2 also, I've never nandroid backup my phone or anything like that I just rooted and left it. What should I do now that I wanna install 2.2 and keep root? What would be the steps of going about this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Incredible, so not familiar with Eris, but I want to root my wife's phone and install XtrSense 4.1, as it seems to be a fast and stable ROM with no tweaks needed.
So, here are the steps:
1) One click root on XDA, install the rootme.zip file, reboot and should be rooted.
2) Run a nandroid backup
3) copy Xtr ROM to root of SD, wipe, and flash via "install from zip"
Is there anything I am missing, seems straightforward. The one step that confused me is this:
Wipe SD:ext partition
What does that step do?
