The fact that I seem to spend all my time looking at this forum to solve problems with my X10, surely confirms what we are all thinking, it is not good! - Everyday there seems to be a new problem, now its the gmail / googlemail, my apps are still taking an age to download despite changing from googlemail to gmail. My wife has an iphone, not a drop of trouble. Think I am going to throw this in the bin (literally) and hot foot it down to the iphone store.

Is the a MS Visio file viewer for the Droid ?
Is there a PDF viewer that I can install on my X10 mini pro? I can only find 3rd party apps on the marketplace and know that friends with htc android phones get a PDF viewer with the phone.
View 5 Replies View RelatedLately i have been finding my phone has been shutting itself down (or frezzing off) for some reason.
What is causing this (except i know its not dead battery).
Any way to view an event log type thing (similar to what PC Windows has)
As the title says, i've lost the default image viewer. My phone had a minor update which changed the way it receives further updates and added Backup & Restore.
But since I have lost the default image viewer. So without crappy mediascape I'm no longer able to click through my images, zoom and set as wallpaper. Has anyone else come across this? Is there a way I can download default software again? Pretty agrovate about this, x10 has been a nightmare since day 1.
Most pdf viewers you can pinch to zoom. That really is not convenient when trying to read something pinching in and out, scrolling, etc. I am looking for a better solution. Most of the stuff I read is almost readable without zooming. I was hoping to find something that when I touch the screen, whatever is under/around my finger, it zooms that in a box. Then I can just keep moving my finger and seeing stuff zoomed and lift my finger to see the whole page.
I'm reading on a 10" tablet.
Anything out there like that or that is more usable for reading pdfs?
knows a pdf reader that zoom in width and height to fill the screen page? most only zooms to width and i have some extra space at the bottom and top of my screen that are wasted. i dont mind a slight distortion of the page that allows for a bigger view.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe best txt viewer/editor for Microsoft Windows is Notepad ++. It's such a shame we don't have something like that on Android. Anyways, I need a Text Editor with the following features:
1-Full-screen mode: A mode the fills the whole screen. I mean no menu, no toolbar, no nothing! What I need for the app is to fill the whole screen when I put the phone in horizontal position. I don't need to see a menu bar on battery percentage when I'm reading a book.
2-Last Position: Remembers the place of your last visit. For instance, if I open a text file and read till page 6, the next time I open the app it starts from page 6 and not from the beginning.
3-Font choices and Background color: Gives you the option to change the color of the background. Also, the more fonts and styles it has the better.
I have ordered a Zenithink ZT-180-102A and plan to use it to view sheet music for the band I play in, and turn the pages with a USB foot switch that sends a PgDn key to Acrobat Reader.
I would think that the tablet will be (just) big enough to view A4 PDF sheet music at 10.1" (would have preferred slightly bigger).I'm hoping Adobe Acrobat Reader for Android can go full screen and respond to PgDn messages.Battery life seems a bit light, but figure I can run it from the power adapter if required.how well the screen would work in sunlight. If I'm reading the foot switch description right, I can configure the key press via the software on a Windows machine, then plug it directly into the Zenithink as a standard HID device.
I started this thread because i think i'm amongst the majority here so maybe we can get some specific responses. Here's what i'm looking for
- Form Fitting so as not to add bulk, but thick enough to provide some protection in case it's dropped. Also thin enough so that it will fit in any desktop charger/cradle that comes out.
- No high ridges (Especially on front like on the Body Glove) so that it doesnt block access to Optical Joystick, Volume Rocker, Power Button and USB Port.
- One piece - So if/when it's dropped the phone doesnt explode into a yard sale and it stays protected.
- Protection for Camera (Flush)
- Carry over styling on stock back cover (doesnt matter to me but may to some)
- Material - enough grip so that it wont slip out of your hand or off your shoulder but not too much so that you can't get it out/into your jeans.
- Color selection (but black is fine)
Please post your camera setting for the evo and why you use it so we can get the Perfect Camera settings. My pictures seem to be a bit bland and dark so I increased brightness and saturation. Pictures tend to be a bit too sharp so I lowered it and iso just seems to make my pictures clearer. I dont know much about iso

View 6 Replies View RelatedIm wondering now if the GPS problem is really a problem with the way the individual phone is "tuned" at the factory, Its not the software thats for sure. I'm sure I have the same software as everyone else and my other 4 handsets had. I noticed that all 4 prior phones had a varying degree of GPS accuracy. This one #5 is spot on and quick to "fix" in my locations. I have a large home and tested the handset in my house last night and watched it track me through the rooms with spot on accuracy without fail. So I say why is this phone different? It has to be the way its tuned at the factory, if you notice when you take the battery door off there are a bunch of little holes around the battery compartment these are manual tuning pots for various phone functions and I'm guessing one is for the GPS. If my handset is accurate there is no other reason besides bad final tuning of the GPS system causing another handset to be inaccurate. Now if my bottom 4 keys were only as sensitive as my GPS I would be totally happy with my Epic.

I am looking for the "perfect" multi-tasking app, or at least the one that I unequivocally like the most. I have seen a few already and really like some, but for one reason or another I am still looking for the best one that suites my needs. Here are some of the ones I have either tried already or am using: Quick Desk : very cool, no real complaints except maybe that I dont think I can kill running apps from the quick bar SmartTaskbar : also cool because it can launch with a swipe from the side of the screen, but the problem is its interface is quite busy and not very functional/intuitive to configure. Also cant kill apps Multitask Manager: nice simple interface (iPhone 4 style) but more or less half the time unresponsive to touches. Also can only launch by singe touch of 'home' button, which isnt very convenient. Visual Task Switcher: Almost perfect. The screen shot idea used in this is really probably the best format for any multitasking app, but unfortunately it overlaps with Quick Desk (which needs to use the same activation key "search+long press") which is a problem because Quick Desk supports widgets... Android Mate: This is probably one of my favorites just because its pretty straightforward and organized, you can kill multiple apps at once, etc. But Again no widgets and no ideal universal one touch activation. Now I luanch it from within SmartTaskbar...
Itching Thumbs: By far the coolest and most (theoretically) capable. If I could get this to be stable on my phone it would be my 1st choice. It does pretty much everything I would like, screen shots, app killing, app launching, widgets, gestures ... Only problem is its still in beta and unfortunately, at least on my phone (Nexus One), keeps freezing and needing to be re-installed. Anyway all these apps have their pluses and I realize that for the most part the things I have trouble with are either due to still being in beta stage or the method of activation overlapping with other functions something which can be adjusted in an update. But what do you all use? Have you found anything that really works for you?
I need a good pdf viewer, on the market there are two (> 4 stars) cheap options (AFAIK)BeamReader (1.99)RepliGo (1.99). I only find comparison between Beamreader and docs2go(9.99) and many of you point that d2g can do more that beamreader, but I don't need to read office files (I do use open office and D2g doesn't seem to be able to read pdf). I didn't find a direct comparison between the first two options so which is better Beamreader or Repligo and why?

I have Dropbox and I'd like to be able to pull up my .rtf files on the phone from Dropbox to go over them. The trouble is, I can't find a good .rtf editor or viewer program to do so. I don't really need the editing function, just a viewer will do. I have Astro as well. Phone is an Evo with Sprint.
