Sep 28, 2012my Android phone (LG P970). The story is the phone is working as much as I can call and text but the system is not stable. It's freezing a lot and then it's trying to reboot but after every rebooting my phone freeze on LG logo... the only way to run it again is taking out the battery and then system is starting ok but it's loading with all settings and data from few days ago... I have try to flash it with Smartflash tool... whole process whas without any error then phone rebooted automaticly and I find out that after rebooting my p970 sterted with the same old and notstable rom with all the call list and messeges from few days ago.. then I tryed to do the emergency recovery of my phone with LG software. Application asked me to type the model and S/N of my phone so I did that and again the whole process of recovery was ok (with no errors)... Then the phone rebooted on the end which is normal and again started with no effect of recovery.. it was the same ZEUS 7 rom, not stable and with all the data and settings from few days ago... I decided to use Titanium Backup to uninstall all the apps and I was trying to instal ROM MANAGER and run the recovery mode but in the middle of my work the phone freez again and then rebooted and then again freeze on LG logo... I took out the battery and again turned it on and when the system was loaded I find out that all the programs which I have deleted with TITANIUM BACKUP was restored somehow... EVERY time I try to restart in normal mode, reboot in recovery mode or even after flashing system is restarting automaticaly, it freeze on LG logo and the only way to run it again is to take out this battery... then system restoring all data and settings for some reason. maybe some of you know whot software i should use to do the FULL WIPE and get rid of the old borken system?

Aug 25, 2011So I've noticed that some of my app settings (i.e. log-ins and such) don't "save" as of late. For example it started with Twitter where I had to always keep checking the notification boxes. Now it's gone even further...
I started using Evernote and every few hours, the app "kicks me out" and I have to log back in. I use Chomp SMS and it's not saving any of the customizations i set within the app. Google+ won't stay logged in either. Is it an Android thing? Do I have some sort of Memory leak? Should I wipe the phone and start over?
I thought it was due to the taks killer app, so I deleted that and rebooted.... then it still happened so I thought Juice Defender was killing the apps so I disabled it.... AND THE APPS ARE STILL DOING IT!!!
HTC EVO 4G :: Random Rebooting After Setting To Save Battery Life
Jun 7, 2010The issue started happening last night after I had tweaked a couple settings to save battery life. I was on a job site today and the phone rebooted 4 or more times within a 2 hour time period. It absolutely killed my battery too. I took my phone off the charger at 9am and by 12:30pm it was @ 15% or so. Luckily I had a spare battery in my pocket. I have since turned back on the "enable always on mobile data" and haven't had any issues since. Battery usage seems a little bit excessive still though. I have had a few smart phones so I know what to expect as far as battery usage.

Oct 8, 2010I've been having a problem with my media volume setting which is causing it to stay silenced. I usually have my phone set to vibrate but I'm unable to change the media volume in any way. Ringer and notification volumes don't give me any problems. I have found that if I turn my phone off and then on again the media volume will be turned on too but it will get stuck silenced again shortly after.

Oct 22, 2010Does anyone have an issue with their Media Volume being set to 0 and when you adjust it, either when in an app (YouTube, mp3 player, RingDroid) or via Settings>Sound>Volume, it still won't adjust? I can't set the volume for Media no matter how I try. It visibly shows that I raised it in Settings, but then I back out and go back in to check, it's 0 again.
When I am in RingDroid, for example, I hit the volume button, the pop up for Media Volume shows at 0, and won't let me raise it with the volume buttons same for YouTube, etc. I know previously, I've reset the phone to fix it, but this is ridiculous. I don't know what's causing it other than possibly putting my phone on vibrate while at work, but that shouldn't affect the Media Volume, just Ringer and Alerts. And before anyone suggests it, I took the phone Off vibrate mode and still get the same result.

Jun 12, 2010Does anyone know of a way to increase the message/calendar reminder volume whilst decreasing the ringer volume? The ringer currently deafens me, but if I turn it down I can't hear the calendar reminder or message notification. Also, is it just me or is the rocker switch for the volume control too easily accessible? I seem to turn it up, down, sideways (!) while trying to do other things on the Desire. I have looked in the settings for calendar, but can't find a volume setting that isn't connected to the ringtone.

May 5, 2010I've had the Desire for about 3 weeks now and it's a brilliant phone. However, quite often I listen to music from my Desire through my headphones to help me get to sleep. Unfortunately though, the lowest media volume setting is too loud through my headphones. It's seems to be either a choice of no music (i.e media volume turned to zero) or the next level up (which is too loud). Is there anyway to get a volume in between the two? The game has players that will have their settings and scores stored and then a settings menu (for the person setting up the game, not necessarily the player).

Feb 3, 2012I have been using Eclipse for a few weeks but for the life of me I cannot find a way to save some of the settings for the editors for JAVA and Android. By this I mean - save them so that from one project to another these settings remain the same without my having to go back into preferences and changing them each time:
1. Size of recently opened files list: 10
2. Displayed and saved tab width: 3
3. Insert spaces for tabs: ON
4. Show line numbers: ON
5. Set MY choice for Code Templates
6. Typing - Automatically close "Strings" - OFF
Parens, square & angle brackets - OFF
7. Automatically insert at correct Position - Semicolons - Off
Braces - ON
I have tried until I am blue in the face to do this to no avail.

Why does the video save as a .3gp format even though I selected mp4 and 720p in settings? Did I do something wrong? Is it really 720p? Did not know that 3gp had the ability to do HD video.

Mar 24, 2010I have my own custom Content Provider that loads a database which contains the settings information for my application.
I load the settings from the ContentProvider on the creation of my Settings activity.
My Settings activity is made up of a PreferenceScreen and Dialog based EditText's.
The following code shows how I use the preference screen and edit texts.
So as you can see from the first image this works and displays the menu with the information underneath.
The problem is in image two, when I click on a choice in the menu the dialog pops up but it is empty, I would like to be able to load the data from my content provider into the edit text in the dialog, so in image one it shows "Donal" as the user name so in image two "Donal" should also appear in the edit text in the dialog.
I would also like to be able to listen to the OK button in the dialog so when a user changes a setting I can update the data in my content provider.

Motorola CLIQ :: Changing Auto Refresh Settings To Save Battery Life?
Mar 21, 2010I've read that BLUR refreshes all the info it needs for it's social widgets every 15 minutes even if you don't have any widgets placed on your home screen. I'm thinking about buying a Cliq but the fact that BLUR is a battery killer turns me off since the main reason I want to upgrade from my G1 is to have a phone with a keyboard that has better battery life. Is there any way to turn this "Auto refresh" feature off or at least make it longer than every 15 minutes? Even better are there any BLURless roms out there? has any1 tried deleting the BLUR widgets apk? would that make it so it doesnt have to "refresh"? having more memory available from being BLURless is just icing on the cake what really matters to me is battery life.

However i haven't used this at all. I am wondering whether i could download android apps and games to google drive, dropbox etc. Games like Real Racing take up about 1GB so i cannot download it to my phone. Can i download it to the Cloud? If this is not possible, is there any way that i could save the app data on the cloud. E.g. The Simpsons: Tapped Out is about 37mb to download off the play store, but then you must download the updates etc which are about another 250mb. is there anyway to save this 250mb on the cloud. Or any other games data.

The battery is not dead or dying.
The phone is not overheating.
I have no updates available and my last update was a few months ago and it was fine up until the last day or two.

Nov 3, 2013I recently bought a HDC Legend S4 and wanted to root it and install CWM. After having it rooted, I used this toturial to install CWM: [URL] .....
The installation seemed to be succesful, after it was done it rebooted into CWM. Then, when I tried to boot into CWM from a power off state, I wasn't able to do that (Volume up button + power button).
When I choose 'Reboot into recovery' in ROM Manager, it just boots into CWM.It's a limitation of the method I used to install CWM?
