Apr 5, 2014I'm sending my Galaxy S4 away to be fixed and I know it will be wiped. Is there any way I can back up my application memory/data so I don't lose any progress?

General :: Backing Up / Restoring App Data Without Root?
Nov 25, 2012I just moved to a Galaxy S3 (Tmo) from a rooted MyTouch 4G slide. I'm loath to root this phone due to some issues that arose with my last handset.
I got My Backup Pro, in large part to get my texts back, but also because I'm a petty little child and don't feel like losing the benefit of all of my time-wasting hard-earned progress on games like Angry Birds, Coin Dozer, Temple Run, and the like. When I tried restoring the app data for these games, I got nothin'. The data I backed up from the old phone seemed to avail me not at all on the new one, restore though I tried. and my feeble attempts at finding where the data goes using Astro made me feel about as tech-savvy as the coworkers I'm often called upon to assist with their phones or computers. (At least I got my texts ...)
Is it not possible to restore app data with this program (or any other way) without rooting?

Oct 28, 2010I'm have a custom GridView Array Adapter. The problem for me is that when the grid list gets large enough to scroll off the screen the gridview and arraylist get out of sync. For instance in my case I have code that checks if an actor is of type director the text color should be red. if you scroll up and down my list enough times all the actors text in my gridview will become red. The thing is that the Gridview appearance actually looks fine its the backing data. Here is the complete class. Sep 14, 2010'Sync' is switched on on my phone so I don't know why I need to manually upload my phone contacts from my SD card then attach them & email them to my google account.I just tried to attach phone contacts from SD card to a Gmail to send to my gmail account then log into my PC & import that file into my gmail account from there, but it will only let me attach photos So I tried emailing as an attachment from phone using my yahoo account.That does allow me to attach contacts but it sits there without actually attaching them !I just found I need to tick all contacts to get to attach. So I have to check 200 ticks as there's no check all option !So one by one I tick all & gets sent as 200 attachments in an email.So then download to PC hard drive.Then in Gmail import contacts I have to browse for vCard files. However I can't select all so have to manually browse for each vCard file then import one at a time.There's no option in contacts to select a contact then 'Star in android'.I presume if somethings starred in Android then the sync between phone contacts & gmail should work properly. Aug 7, 2013I have installed a few custom roms on my Galaxy s3 and as of last week when i have a custom rom installed i get no data (internet of call and mms) I reset the phone using kies and it all worked fine but now when i install any custom rom i cannot use data or calls. If i go into About Device and Status it shows no network of any description. I can only use stock rom fashed in kies.
PS. I get a small red mark apear in the to left corner of the screen as the phone boots and shows the samsung logo.

As I'm in the process of customizing it one thing I noticed is that there are no toggle widgets for independently turning on or off 3G or 4G as needed. I came from an HTC EVO 4G that had those widgets built into the Sense interface which worked great so that when I was traveling I could use 3G only if I was in that area or switch off 3G and goto 4G (WiMax), or switch off both when I was at home with an Airave.
I've looked throughout the Note 2 running android 4.1.1 and am unable to find any such widgets. I did download Power Widgets and Widgetoid but both seem inadequate by not effectively turning the radio on or off. Rather they take me to the screen to turn off the radio inside the android settings.
