General :: GT-I5510 - Flash IMG File Without USB?
Sep 1, 2012
I have a GT-I5510, and it's usb port is broken due to an unfortunate contact with a puddle. So i am trying to flash it to CWM Recovery through wireless communication. I have spent ~6 hours digging the forums, i have a .tar file, and an .img file i can flash, but i wasn't able to find a .zip file to flash through recovery mode. Both Mobile Odin and Flash Image GUI don't support the device, so they are out of the question too. Is there any other way possible to flash an .img file through the phone itself?

I'm using samsung galaxy i5510 , and my problem is i'm having a dim dark invisble screen on cwm recovery 5.0.2.6 and some 2.3.6 official roms , and in all modded roms 7 and 10 that i found here ,even with this problem i succeed installing some mod roms using cwm recovery that is barely visible but the same problem the rom installed is dark and invisible but installed ,
Here a photo is what the screen looks like it's from another guy on youtube having same problem with i5510.
I don't want to come back to 2.2 or 2.3.6 beacause i can do it but i want a solution to install modded roms and cwm recovery without the screen problem.

I recently got my first android phone - Samsung Galaxy W.
I decided to install a custom rom. Before that i had to root my phone which i did without any problems. After that i had to flash ClockworkMod v5.5.0.4. I downloaded the file which was in zip however i didn't extract it (which is what i should have done) and copied into my phone's memory. After that i put this code in the command promt
adb shell
$su
#dd if=/sdcard/
recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ancora.zip of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p13
After rebooting the phone i can only get into the download mode in which nothing happens. And when i connent the phone to my pc the computer doesn't detect that my phone is connected. What shall i do now? Is my phone a brick now?

How i can directly reboot into recovery and flash a .zip file via script for terminal emulator?
I think you know the ROMManager, you can download updates there, it automatically reboots into recovery and flashes without asking the .zip file, how can i realize that via script for the terminal emulator? cuz i want to create a updater for my and my friends roms

I guess webview is the best solution to play a local swf-file (flash). I just get cryptic character in the emulator with this html code in webview.
HTML Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
<title>Flash</title>

How can i play a local swf-file when the user click on some kind of link, java or html?

I am still on the DI18 kernel, can I flash the newest modem.bin file? And if I can, do I just put it in the phone section of odin, or does it go into the pda section? Right now I am on the baked snack kernel, but thinking about flashing it back, but want to see if the new modem works better so I can limit my flashes.

Have already posted this in "multimedia". Sorry for reposting, but I hadn't seen this group before. Q1: On youtube and other websites I, more often than not, get the message "Cannot play this file". I suppose the reason is that the file format is not supported? Can I download a codecs pack somewhere in order to get more out of my phone? Q2: Is there a flash plugin for the Android browser or an alternative browser available, and where do I get it?

Let's say you don't have internet access at the moment. Let's say all you have is fresh install of CyanogenMod 9, which for some reason, does not come with a File Manager :
Let's say you have an apk file on your SD card. How would you install the apk file? Terminal emulator, using which commands or another way?
By the way, ASTRO File Manager vs. ES File Explorer, which one and why?

I'm using JB 1.4.2 on Razr i. There's one thing that's annoying me a lot. I've installed the SNES Emulator SuperGNES and I've found that every single file type that have no app associated is showing SuperGNES icon and associated with it. Example: .log, .db, etc. Even files that have no extension is associated with it. The same problem occur when ZArchiver is installed. I don't know if it's a bug of these two apps or Android's in general. Remembering that this associations are shown only inside Android's native file manager. It's like every "unknown MIME type file" act like being the same.

All the new features sites said Flash 10 was part of Driod 2.2. 2.2 was pushed to my phone overnight and I installed it. However when I go to the Adobe Flash showcase, it says I don't have flash installed. So I search the market place and do not see flash as a download. Is this just something that will come later? I really don't read up on Driod all the time so I don't know all the news, just a regular user.

I have gotten both the Flash Player and Flash Lite APK's, and I have been trying to install them on the Droid. Flash Player refuses to install on stock 2.1. Flash Lite installs, but after install I can not connect to the internet (Nothing connects, Skype, market, random app, browser.)
So I wanted to know if anyone wanted to do some testing with them, to see if you can get them running on the ROM you are running. Maybe we will be able to make fun of iDevices earlier, because Droid Does what iDont

Many people don't realize that they have two kinds of "cookies" on their computer. We all know about the familiar ones that web pages can place on our PC's and which we can see and delete with our browsers.But there's another more insidious kind which can be placed on your computer via Flash. These are called Flash Shared Objects, or sometimes "flash cookies" and they were disigned to provide inter-session persistency but are, in practice, used the same way cookies are. On a PC they're found in C:Documents and Settings***user***Application DataMacromediaFlash Player#SharedObjects and/or C:Documents and Settings***user***Application DataMacromediaFlash Playermacromedia.comsupportflashplayersys. They are a huge privacy violation.Browsers do not normally delete these although you can get a plugin for Firefox that does.My Question: Now that Android supports Flash, how do we get rid of these things from our Android devices?

Provide the necessary link if I have missed a thread for this topic;
1] I presume Flash Lite is shipped & working with the Legend...?
2] Any news on 'full fat' Flash 10.1 support? Adobe seem [?] to suggest a snapdragon processor is required, is this still the case?
Will we ever see Flash 10.1 on the Legend?
