Asus TF300T wifi disconnects after coming out of sleep. This started happening after the JB upgrade. I have ADVANCED SETTINGS set to 'KEEP WIFI ON DURING SLEEP. ASUS CUSTOMIZED SETTING, 'DISCONNECT NETWORK DURING SLEEP' is unchecked. 'POWER SAVER, LOW BATTERY SAVER SETTINGS, 'WIFI OFF, during low battery, is unchecked. SYSTEM PERFORMANCE is set to Balanced Mode.

I just bought an Asus TF300T today and the battery is charging at the moment.
I should back the Android ICS operating system as soon as possible and know how to restore the OS in the future.
This does indeed sound like good advice as I can and do make images of my Windows 7 OS with Acronis and from time to time I use these images to get rid of crudd and get the OS back to top speed.
So, how do I make an image of my new operating system on my Android device and how do I use this image to restore order when the proverbial hits the fan at a future date.

I have worked out various methods of creating a bit by bit image of the internal storage of my TF300T
After entering this script in terminal emulator;
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p8 of=/Removable/MicroSD/mmcblk0p8.img bs=512 count=56493000
the process begins copying the storage to the new file on my SD card, BUT It stops at 4gb when the total storage is about 27gb

My tablet will not connect to ANY WiFi network anymore. Everything was working perfectly, but had to send the tablet to Asus for RMA because it would not charge anymore. But now, when i connect to my wifi network it just says its saved and does not connect" I figured maybe it was an issue with my network, so I went out and tested it with other WiFi connections. It can scan and detect everything, but the same thing happens while trying to connect to anything. My Sony phone and laptop are able to connect to everything perfectly, but the tablet will not, even to the networks which it has previously connected to.
Things I have tried:
-Deleted all networks by using the "Forget network" option and tried connecting again.
-Tried "open" type networks without any passwords.
-Rebooted the tablet several times.
-Done a factory reset, twice.
-Tried to analyse logcat data.
Do i have to rma it again..

I recently bought a Huawei G700. It's a fairly new and uncommon device. It runs Android 4.2.1 in combination with Huawei's own Emotion UI
When I have WiFi enabled and for some reason my Wifi disconnects (for example I go out of reach), my phone keeps asking me, each and every time, if it's allowed to use Mobile Data. if I don't answer, my mobile data does not connect thus I can't recieve any mails etc which is highly annoying.
This is the exact error/popup message that I get:
Data connection change. WLAN is unavailable, try to connect to mobile network?
I've googled this exact phrase, but I get 0 results. How can I prevent my phone from asking if it's allowed to use mobile data?

I have an Asus Slider Sl101. Around 3 days ago, our router had been changes as the previous one wasn't working properly. Our carrier is Charter and our router is Netgear. We hooked every device up to that new router and everything worked fine, including the tablet. But later on in the day,the Internet on there stopped working.
It shows that it's connected, but when I try to access the internet through the browser, it does not work. The blue line at the top of the browser starts up, moves forward a little, and stops entirely while the browser then says "Webpage Not Available". Apps that require Internet, such as Accuweather and my SAT apps, fail to work as well. Other devices that use our wifi include another computer and Nintendo DSi and 3DS. They all work fine. Our router shows that our android is connected to it, as well.
I've tried the static IP stuff, restarted the router, left the wifi off on the tablet for a few hours, and turned it off and off. I even factory resetted it and not even that worked.

I've noticed for the last few months occasionally my wireless at home would disconnect and reconnect after a few seconds. It didn't really bother me until I was downloading some large work files and I kept getting disconnected and screwing up the downloads.
I finally sat down and dug into the issue, and it seems from the router logs that the phone is deauthenticating when it sleeps the wifi and that causes my computers wifi to deauth as well.....wtf?
WPA2 security b/g/n wireless router, d-link 655.
Anyone got any ideas? So far the only solution I've been able to find is to either keep my phones wifi off (3g at my house? slow as hell) or to put it into never sleep mode (which kills battery).

In my Android application, it is noticed that when the device goes to sleep/standby WiFi is disconnected. When the device wakes up, it gets reconnected. Before making a httpClient.execute(..) call to remote server we check if the device is connected to n/w. When the data transfer is being done and if the device goes to sleep then Android runtime will switch to another medium for connectivity(3G,GPRS etc.)
Is the switch from WiFi to alternate cellular service say 3G, seamless? How do I wait for WiFi to become available again? Should I use Thread.sleep(delay) when the WiFi wakes up? I have seen broadcast actions when the WiFi state changes. In general, what is the ideal approach to handling WiFi disconnects in a mobile app?

My wifi keeps dropping in and out. All of the wireless security passwords are correct, but the WIFI tab on the phone keeps saying "scanning", connects and then disconnects. It even does it to unsecure wireless networks.

When my router is set to WPA the Droidx connects and stays connected. But when I change to WPA2 it keeps connecting and disconnecting every few seconds. This leaves me with a choice of less security for my entire network, or no wifi for the Droidx. I have seen this problem mentioned on the Motorola support page, but I have not heard of any resolution. Does anyone have a fix for this? I am using the new Froyo 2.2 OTA update.

I'm trying to flash the staging partition on my TF300T. The device is unlocked and I have previously successfully flashed ClockworkMod Recovery to the recovery kernel.
However, I'm trying to flash ArchLinux ([URL]...) to the staging partition and it. will. not. flash.
Well actually, it says it's successfully flashed, but "fastboot reboot" hangs forever (until I manually turn off the device) and when it starts, it just goes back into normal Android. I've even tried flashing the boot partition, but still nothing. While in ClockworkMod Recovery I used ADB to dd the image straight onto the staging partition (mmcblk0p4) but to no avail.
It seems like no matter what I do, it keeps just booting straight into Android, even after "successfully" flashing with fastboot and dd'ing the image onto the correct partition (verified by viewing /etc/recovery.fstab).

I was able to unlock the device and install CWM. I wasn't paying attention when i did a wipe, and didn't see it was unable to wipe /data and several other locations. Its probably because its encrypted. I thought it would have asked for the password to access those areas to wipe them. So i just went ahead and flashed Cyanogenmod 10 nightly build. Now it wont boot past asus logo. Is there a way to flash a rom on an encrypted tablet?

My son managed to put a password onto my Asus Memo Pad. So now when I try and start it up I'm faced with a password no one knows. I've tried the little trick of holding down the volume and power buttons, but the "No USB cable connected!" message comes up, even though the USB cable is connected to my PC.

I rooted (using Kingo root) Memo Pad 8 (ME180A) and deleted many bloatwares. The problem is that I also deleted Gallery app which is connected to Camera. So I factory reset via both Settings->Backup and reset and Power+Volume up button. But the deleted apps weren't restored, still missing.
Unrooting and doing factory reset can fix this problem? Or should I download stock firmware or stock Gallery app? I couldn't find stock apps and firmware.

My padfone was bricked when I tried to replace the recovery by TWRP via goomanager (TWRP official recommended).
The procedure of goomanager makes nothing happens, it seems like just download the TWRP package.
The problem is that phone has different protection policies compared to HTC, samsung etc and the bootloader (fastboot mode) is locked by default.
In other words, there is no such a way to connect your phone when your rom, recovery did not pass the verification unless unlock the bootloader by ASUS official tool and void warranty before your operations.
If the recovery or roms did not pass the validation then the left-top corner of screen will show 'invalid kernel' and the phone haven't been unlocked to be premised to visit fastboot mode then the phone will be bricked.
I think there is two way to unbrick, the first is to unlock the bootloader by external connector, the other is to flash official recovery data by external. But when I tried to search solutions, I got nothing about padfone A66 even that RIFFBOX official forum.

I have an Asus Transformer TF101, and one of my HDDs automatically spins down after a few minutes of idle. However another drive I have [that is 2.5", usb-powered] continually runs when it's plugged in, whether it's being used or not.
I was wondering if there's any way to make this other hdd spin down after a few minutes?
