If I should ask this here or on the root forum but I got DM 6 and everything is asop, plain and stock Android 2. 2 but what bothera me is the my facebook contacts don't want to sync with my Google contacts in my phone, I'm using the regular Facebook app and I don't see an option to link manually like the HTC sync one.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just rooted my Samsung Moment using Radioactive FroYo 1.8.7. Prior to this I was using the official 2.1 build from Sprint/Samsung. In my Facebook for Android app there was a setting that automatically synced my Facebook friends and my Contacts. After I rooted and installed the app again (same version) the option is no longer there.
Is it an issue with root or am I forgetting something? Currently I am using syncmypix but I would like to sync more than just profile pics. if I can get the option back somehow? Or if there is another app that syncs contact info and profile pics?
My question has to deal with only connecting your facebook contacts with the contacts within your phone.I have the Droid X and have downloaded the Facebook app from the market.Is there an app or a way to get this?

When I go into my contacts, and select accounts, I choose Facebook, but then it just sends me back to my accounts page and Facebook doesn't show up. When I go into the actual Facebook application, there is no option to sync, even when I go to configuration. What can I do to sync my contacts with Facebook?

I am a medical student and have a pretty crazy schedule and I have relied on google calendar for several years now to keep my schedule. I was excited to use it on my phone, but my problem is that it is syncing with facebook and uploading all these birthdays. Now, I don't want to sound like a jerk who doesn't care about my friends birthdays but I already check those through facebook - they are cluttering up my calendar and I want them off! I can't for the life of me figure out how to make it stop syncing with facebook and it could just be that I don't know where to go. I have looked under "Settings" within the calendar and haven't found it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to re-establish or manually add the Facebook syncronization option to an existing contact in my Contacts app? I lost the Facebook sync icon in the contact information and this is inconvienent at best, and possibly is the cause of disabling the phone functionality at worse. Subsequent behavior on at least two occassions has shown that attempts to dial out using this particular contact locks up the dialer, causing multiple forces closes, and essentially disables the phone functionally both in and out of the phone for long periods time (10-20 mins) until the application can be correctly cleared and purged from memory.
I was able to successfully sync my Contacts with both my Google contact list and then all my Facebook friends. However some of the contact information was not exactly how I preferred and attempts to update that information using the Google contact list was not always successful. Not entirely sure if this is a bug or by design. I was able to successfully modify one contacts name with Facebook sync from first name first to last name first (to correct sorting to my preference). A second contact wouldn't modify no matter if I updated the name information on Google contact or on the phone itself. Finally I attempted to delete the contact and re-add it. This worked but now I lost its Facebook sync (no Facebook icon to click within the contact information). I'm not sure if this detachment is causing the dialer problems.
After syncing all my Facebook friends with my contacts (for complete-ism), I successfully deleted some Facebook friends from my contact list. But what if I want one back with Facebook sync, is that possible?
So i see that everyone is having isues with syncing Their facebook contacts to their contact list but I have the hero and am very content with it. I was on 1.5 until earlier today when I upgraded to 2.1. My question is that when I had 1.5 i manually linked my phones contact list with the persons facebook page. Now with 2.1 I want to manully do the same thing but my phone isn't even populating the list of Facebook friends so I can't even pick anyone.

View 2 Replies View Relatedjust a minor inconvenience: I used to have my phone set to sync with google, which alerted me every time I received an email. I then found out that google sync was causing an issue with my contact pictures, taking them from facebook and resizing them. it caused them to looked pixelated or "zoomed in" in hilli billy terms. So now I have it set to never sync with google. So now I never receive a notification when I receive an email. Anyone know a way I can set it to sync only to gmail and not sync the contacts? I don't really need to sync them anyway, as I have backup assistant for that purpose.

View 1 Replies View RelatedUnhappy with Samsung's stock ICS version, I moved on to a CyanogenMod9 nightly build for my SGS2 - an admittedly risky thing to do on April 1st - which proves fantastically stable and fast.
However, when I installed the Facebook app, I found that the option to sync and merge contacts is gone. From the app, but also from the Accounts and Sync option in Android's settings. It still says "Facebook" under the accounts that I can add, but nothing happens when tapped.
I wiped and re-installed everything, but to no avail. The setting is no longer there and I cannot sync my Facebook contact details with my existing contact list.

But is there a way to not sync all my friends on facebook to my contacts but still have it signed in on the EVO? I have too many people on facebook that don't have numbers so it gives me a million email addresses I don't need or even doubles some of my contacts.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I first received my Evo about a week ago, without doing any manual work my pre-existing contacts were synced with facebook. Facebook didn't add contacts, it just put a picture beside them and gave me some additional details on them, like birthdays and emails. Since, I've messed roms and the like, and have lost this. Now when I try and sync (even on the stock evo rom) it will only pick up a few of my contacts, about 10, and thats it. Not only that but their is an annoying little "f" facebook logo in the corner of their pictures too. Can anyone tell me how to get this to work again? Currently I'm running Myn's Warm, a sense rom, and going to settings > applications > facebook for sense > sync contacts.
Also, is there anyway to tell it not to add every single fricken birthday to my calendar as well? I didn't ask facebook to sync events and birthdays to my calanders, thats just too much going on.
I can't for the life of me figure out how to un-sync the Facebook contacts. I would hate to think I have to go in an delete all 300+ of the unnecessary contacts associated with Facebook.

Having now ported all my numbers in how can i sync facebook with certain people (my gilfriend and close m8s etc etc) but avoiding doubling up their numbers and e-mails and so on that's already on the phone. My problem: I did not put off the sync feature for facebook and now my calender and my contacts are filled with hundreds of people i never interact with. and i somehow cannot erase all the hundreds of birthdays of those people in my calender. the only option i think is to do a Reset. does that delete all my contacts in my sim too? )
When I sync my contacts to facebook, I then have the option to choose which name I want them displayed as. Either my GMAIL saved contact, or their Facebook name.
When i choose the FB name, after a few minutes or later that day, it eventually reverts back to the Gmail name. Some names end up permanently staying as the FB name, and some I have to consistently save as the FB name over the period of a few hours for it to stay put. This gets very frustrating, anyone experience similar issues?
Also, side note. On the keyboard, anyway to get back the standard Android Keyboard without losing Sense? I miss the Android OS smilies....
I recently installed ICS on my SGS. now, I miss the samsung's FB sync that not only would get my contacts's photos, e-mails and also dates of birth and put them in my calendar.
i tried the FB app sync but it isn't working. i'm currently using friendcaster but it only sync contacts's photos.
My contacts photos do not update I've told it to sync through the People, Facebook menu, & it appears to be syncing - endlessly it NEVER finishes.I have about 500 contact so I assume it may take a while, but it goes all day & night & never finishes.

I dont know why it had to come to that, it should do it automatically.I have even done battery pulls which should theoretically log me out, oh well, it works now.I have done some searching around and there was a problem with Facebook a couple weeks back, but I dont think this has anything to do with that. I added a new friend on Facebook on the 25th of July, I also added them manually into my People on my Inc. For whatever reason when I go to the Link part of the contact and go to the Facebook Link, it says to pick from my friends. He does not show up in my friends if I am browsing through the link area. I can go to facebook from the phone and from the computer and he is there. It is making me insane.Also the profile pics are not updating, and havent for many months. My wife's picture has not changed on my phone's end in 4 months, but on the actual Facebook site it has.
