I tried using the free sms Backup+ and could not get any info. So I purchased Backup to Gmail. I am still having the same problem both apps miss received messages in backup. Both apps get the time wrong on received messages. They are correct on my phone but at least 4 hour difference on gmail backup. I have a Droid x.

I have a lot and I don't feel like entering them one by one again... I think there's a way to do it with Gmail but I haven't figured it out. Any programs or ways to do it?

I installed Petes Bugless rom and It was a little too buggy for me so I went back to my nandroid backup. Everything is fine except for my Gmail will not send an email. It will receive just fine but will not send. It just says sending... I have tried to send myself emails to my other accounts and receive nothing. I can send email with my .Mac email on my Droid though. I tried to delete my account and re-install and it won't let me because its my main one. It says I have to wipe my data first and I really don't want to do that.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have wiped data and restored my apps twice with Titanium so far. It all works well, but two minor problems. First, every time I do it all of my previous call logs, and all of my previous handcent text messages also get reset. Is there a way I can restore all of these as well?
Also is there a way I can restore my non-gmail email account so I do not have to go through the whole set up of putting in the incoming and outgoing settings all over again. It isn't a huge deal, but it does get annoying redoing the path, the port and the security every single time.
I might just not be doing the correct restore as I only do the batch restore missing apps with data and not all apps with data, but I do not know for sure.
I am using 2.3.5 android and my contacts are in google contacts. I have also added my facebook account and some contacts are synced between both accounts.I use titanium backup pro for my backups but I cannot restore the linked synced (after some reboots, the stop being synced)
Is there anyway to make and restore a backup if the sync contacts information) using titanium backup pro or other app?
I have done a search but being a moron i can't make head nor tale of this. Got a G2 and currently downloading the 2.1 update and wanted to back up my contacts so i dont have to re input them after update (it appears to wipe contacts) they are saved to the phone and not to the sim (which i believe if they were saved to sim it wouldnt be a problem after update). Now i have read something about backing up contacts to Gmail but can my contacts be backed up to gmail from my phone? if so how? maybe they are already? is there a way of checking this?

So I spent over hours trying to figure out a way to do it and eventually forced me to create all my contacts in my PC (which I just import/exported to my gmail account), but that took me about an hour or 2. So I was wondering if there was some way I can backup my contacts FROM the phone, directly onto gmail, or a contacts file. Because I know I will get contacts, and this information will be helpful in the near future.Also, please check out my other thread. My HTC is having major Awake issues.

I've searched and searched and cannot find an answer or a trick to restore the backed up msgs. It's nice having the msgs backed up on Gmail but it would be nicer if I could have them on my phone as well.

I'd like to know if there's a way to use Titanium Backup to preform a backup and then transfer those backups to my computer ?
I know this may sound simple but am under the impression that when you make a backup of your ROM and other files on your device, it has to stay on the device.
When making a NANDROID backup, is it safer and more useful if one can store those backups on one's computer ?
Am sure there's a way to do this but am not sure if there's already an app for it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the root app Titanium Backup. When I root my friends' phones, I like giving them all my root apps with a quick transfer of my SD card app backups from AppControl.
BUT, I have never been able to find the backup file for Titanium Backup. I realize they can just download it from the Market, but where I work I get no service so I can't download it for hours for them.
Does AppControl or even Titanium Backup itself actually back up Titanium Backup? It seems almost like they skip over the APK because I can never find any backed up APK files that have the words "Titanium" or "Backup" in it. I've never been able to find the file!
I DLed Titanium Backup, but it wasn't obtaining root access. I read here that I probably need to update to a newer version of BB. After a bit of a fight, I finally managed to get BB 0.4 onto my Droid. I figured I was safe b/c I have Lookout, which also backs up data. Yeah, it backs up contacts and pix, that's it. So here I am w/ a nice, shiny new rom, and a completely wiped phone.
Now, I know my old info is still there. I know I could just recover into my last version. But then I wouldn't be on this rom. Is there any way for me to get that info on here, or do I have to do everything manual? Or could I restore the old version, and not need to do a wipe when flashing the new rom?
Man, no matter what I good I start to feel about myself w/ what I've already learned from you guys, I'm quickly reminded that I'm barely scratching the surface.
Recently the screen on my droid 3 completely stopped working, and it looks like I am going to have to send in to get a replacement. That said, I don't want to completely loose all of my data. My question is: I got a screen viewer on my computer to display a live feed from my droid, and I am looking for the easiest way to back up as much data as possible. I don't think I can do a nandroid backup because of the broken screen, but I can definitely root and backup using the feed on my computer.

I had a Samsung Infuse before this and have never had a problem. I've had the S4 for about 3 weeks now and this hasn't happened until yesterday. And since yesterday it has happened 3x's. At first I thought it was a Trulia app (realestate app) that I was using to try to call some realtors. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence but the first 2 times I was on the app and my contacts disappeared. How I recovered them was through the contacts recovery feature on Gmail. I would be SOL if I were out and needed to call someone on my contacts list immediately and without access to my laptop.
