I have a Droid X. When I deleted my email message off my PC it would auto delete them from my phone which was great! But it is not doing that anymore. What do I need to do to get it to work again?

why my S4 is deleting all my contacts from it. I have my contacts synced with my gmail contacts and this has been the case for years. I had a Samsung Infuse before this and have never had a problem. I've had the S4 for about 3 weeks now and this hasn't happened until yesterday. And since yesterday it has happened 3x's. At first I thought it was a Trulia app (realestate app) that I was using to try to call some realtors. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence but the first 2 times I was on the app and my contacts disappeared. How I recovered them was through the contacts recovery feature on Gmail. I would be SOL if I were out and needed to call someone on my contacts list immediately and without access to my laptop.

When I set my phone up it loaded every singe contact from my GMAIL contacts onto my phone. I don't necessarily want all of these clogging up my phone, but when I go to delete them from my phone they also get deleted from my contact list in GMAIL. Also the same with emails. If I delete them on my phone, they get removed from GMAIL inbox.
My old blackberry would give the an option of "delete from phone" or "delete from phone AND gmail".
When I first turned it on, I was able to delete emails by checking a box to the left of them (like how it looks on my computer). This way I could delete several at a time. Now when I open my gmail, I need to open each email individually in order to delete it. Is there a way to change this?

I try to delete that same message from the trash but it doesn't delete forever like it is suppose to. I have to either go on my PC to do it or use my internet browsers to delete forever.

View 6 Replies View RelatedEverytime I receive an email, I delete it. When I delete one email. It'll show the inbox with the number ZERO in between parenthesis. Then 1 more email comes in. The parenthesis number is 2. Delete the email that is actually new, and the new parenthesis is 1. Receive one more email. It'll show up as 3. Basically, the ones I deleted aren't deleted on google's server, but they won't show up again in my phone inbox - only in the "unread" counter. And no, it doesn't go away after a few minutes when gmail syncs. Do I really have to get onto a computer to clear the "unread" count? I am running fresh .7.

Everytime I checked my gmail on the phone it woudn't tell me MY email address, (because, I shoulda known it) but I couldn't remember what it was, so I made a new gmail account, and started using it at work. I didn't want to have two accounts so when I found out what the original account was (in the phone). I went online on my computer and deleted the account, intending to replace it with the newer one. However since deleting the old email account, I can no longer update any apps, or buy any new apps. It continously asks for the old gmail's password, but won't accept it when I've entered it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I have a 3 year old Droid Incredible. The older it gets, the worse it responds to basic tasks. Today, I turned on my phone, only to get several error messages from Google related apps saying they have failed to start.
So I tried clicking on some Google apps, like Google Maps. The icon was replaced by this:
In fact, all of the Google related apps were like this. I tried selecting Google maps, only to get an instant force stop message. Soon afterwards, all of the Google apps disappeared, including YouTube. Google Play and Google Search widget have both been replaced by Failure to Load Gadget messages. I tried looking for any signs of anything Google related, with no luck. I restarted my phone, I cleared caches, and I unmounted and remounted my SD card for some reason. No dice.
I have a stock HTC Incredible. I have done nothing like unrooting to it. What could be the cause of the apps disappearing?
Some have complained about not being able to change the LED or get repeat notifications for gmail. I stumbled on this last night and thought I would share. I haven't tried it and make no claims to its greatness.Gmail Notifier.It lets you change the color of the LED, vibration length, and gives repeat notifications. It also works for multiple gmail accounts I believe.

For instance contact #1 has a gmail account I can see the picture that they update on their gmail account and statuses but contact #2 doesn't show anything from there gmail account. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using go SMS pro and I made some backups and made it auto backup by schedule..I've noticed now that something probably went wrong and now I've got most of my SMS twice or trice, or even 4 times duplicate..And if ill try to fix it handily by my self it'll take me 40 years, cuz I got over a thousand messages.. and each one is 2-4 times..
Is there any app that you know that could scan it and delete it by its own?Like scanning the whole SMS and delete those who are the same..?

I am still having the same problem both apps miss received messages in backup. Both apps get the time wrong on received messages. They are correct on my phone but at least 4 hour difference on gmail backup. I have a Droid x.

I have a typical IMAP mail box setup (non gmail). Most everything works fine. However, when I delete emails using the Galaxy, they don't actually delete. In the next sync, they pop right back up.
I guess I was a little spoiled by how well webOS handled the setup of all my email accounts, so hopefully I am just overlooking something obvious.
I got my IMAP email up and running and it syncs just fine. When I delete emails on the phone, they disappear....only to reappear the next time the phone syncs. What setting have I got wrong? I copied each setting exactly from my old phone (which worked just fine this way).

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy new android phone comes with a few pre-installed applications that I do not particularly need. I have some very basic questions
1) Because they are already there they seem to have a special "status", compared to all the other apps that I download. When I try to backup/restore using AppBackupRestore, those "special" pre-installed apps fail to restore. I cannot "uninstall" them from Settings/Apps. Ideally I do not want to have to re-download the whole world after a factory reset, and I depend on the AppBackupRestore to keep the latest copy of the app in local memory where it can be re-installed from.
2) What happens if I delete one of these apps from the system/apps directory? Will the app then magically disappear? Or will I need to do a factory reset in order to get rid of it?
3) Does it really matter if there are many pre-installed applications, if I do not use them? I mean they do not use any CPU so is the gain only cosmetic ?
4) Assuming I can delete any apps I want, which apps *must I not* delete? Are there any special applications that I will not be able to download from Google Play
