I'm unable to install a test app in an emulator. On a website, I read that if I enter "adb install appname.apk" in cmd prompt, the file will install. But I think I made a mistake updating the PATH file.
Here are my locations:
For Tools: C:UsershomeAndroid Developer LearningAndroid SDKandroid-sdk ools
For Platform Tools: C:UsershomeAndroid Developer LearningAndroid SDKandroid-sdkplatform-tools
When im trying to download the platform tools from SDK Manager, downloads get to about 50% and wont g any further.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using Mac Pro which has "Darwin" linux. I tried to ADT 0.9.0 by running the script at cupcake/development/tools/eclipse/scripts/build_server.sh. The script keeps failing with error saying that it only works on Linux. I am in need of the ADT 0.9.0. Is there a way for me to successfully building this from the cupcake source? If not, can someone send me a built ADT 0.9.0?

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter having some development skills in Java, I thought I'd try to make my own apps for the Android Platform. But I haven't even installed the whole SDK yet and I've got already my first Problems. I downloaded the SDK r05 Starterpack and tried to install it, no Problems with the eclipse-Activation. But when I tried to download the platforms with the Android SDK and AVD Manager, I just failed.
After replacing the https:// with an http://(cause the safe way didn't work) I saw 6 things at the "Avilable Packages" Screen, but I only could install 2 of them. The Android SDK Tool r5 and the USB Driver Package r3. I saw the APIs too, but I wasn't able to install one of them, my problem is that it shows me; "This Package depends on 'missing SDK Plattform Android API X". X = The Number of the API(3;4;6;7). So, here's the big question, what did I do wrong? Or where can I download the Platforms?
Every time I try to download an application on the android market it always comes up down load unsuccessfully.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAsking a question for my father in law who is having problems with his EVO (I have an EVO but can't replicate this problem to help).
During the past week, the EVO with the problem was not downloading MMS messages onto the phone. The download process would start but would result in an error that said something like "generic network failure." We thought it was a temporary network connection issue. This started with the stock "Messaging" app installed on the EVO.
What then happened is VERY ODD. All of a sudden literally HUNDREDS of old previously deleted messages dating back to June of this year (yes, it is now NOVEMBER) were being downloaded and loaded into the messaging app. This happened not only with the thread that could not receive the recent MMS message but essentially ALL THREADS from whomever might have contacted my father in law since June! This happened once, we totally cleared out the messaging app threads and even deleted the cache information and data through the Manage Applications options on the phone and, once again, receipt of a few current messages would again trigger this FLOOD of text message data from MONTHS ago!!
Has anyone heard of this problem? It seems to me to be related to the Sprint Network because there should be no remnants of any of the old text messages once deleted from the phone itself. We went to a local Sprint store this morning and even did a hard reset BUT upon testing the text apps again, the problem recurred!
This problem occurred first with the stock Messaging app and, thinking that the Messaging app was the problem, we installed ChompSMS with the hope of fixing the issue but the problem occurred with Chomp as well.
Again, I am posting this for my father in law's EVO...I have an EVO too, running ChompSMS with NO PROBLEMS...matter of fact I have NEVER heard of or seen this issue with many-month-old text REAPPEARING on the phone. Any suggestions or thoughts?

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust got the full version of Lock 2.0; skipped the free demo since I pretty much knew this is what I wanted. However, once I installed it; when I go to open Lock 2.0 for the menu; the screen that says, "Please wait while we download the default skin..." pops up, but just as quick as that appears, a box stating, "Downloading failed, restart app to retry, make sure you have unplugged your usb connection"
This is pretty annoying, as so far I've tried:
1. Killing the app and restarting it
2. Rebooting the phone
3. Uninstalling and Installing
Nothing is working and I really want to start using this app! I even downloaded the demo free version to see maybe it was an issue between the paid and free; but same issues. I'm currently rocking a HTC Magic running Sense UI 1.5. Anyone encounter similar problems? or possibly know of any way to fix this?

I add iw sorces in external/iw directory and modified Android.mk of external/libnl-header in order to create the module "libnl" necessary for compile iw. All changes are in this commit.
When I compile I obtain this

It look like the libnl module is not imported by iw.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently switched over from Win 7 to Mint 15 and cannot get ADB and fastboot to work for the life of me! On Windows, I just downloaded and installed the Android SDK and had no trouble using ADB and fastboot to mod my phone. It is proving to be much more difficult on Linux.
I've searched Google, Linux Mint forums, and these forums; tried following numerous guides, and still my comp can't recognize my phone. Every time I type in "adb devices" I get "List of connected devices" followed by a blank line. No question marks and certainly no connected devices. "lsusb" shows my HTC One S as connected so I know it's not my USB port.
When I plug in my phone, I get an error message, "Unable to mount Android Phone Unable to open MTP device '[usb:002,005]'" and then a file explorer window opens displaying my phone contents anyways. Not sure if this could have anything to do with it but I thought I'd mention it.

No for the first time I have a phone, which isn't supported by CWM, so I looked for nandroid tools, but these don't seem to be supported either. How should I proceed in this case? The phone is Sony Xperia Z.

I modified a little MTK Droid Tools .ini file to accept MT6582 CPU
I created scatter file
with SP FlashTools I downloaded the 2GB! ROM
now when I try to process it with MTK Droid Tools I get

I have an iPhone 5s clone MT6572.
I think I've screwed up my phone. I performed a format with SP Flash tools and flashed a new rom. Stupidly I didn't take a backup of my IMEI number or a proper backup of my rom! . Luckily I found a CWM backup of my MP0B_001 file in my NVRAM folder and have managed to get my IMEI number back!
I have a problem though, I cannot get a mobile network signal but I CAN detect the sim card. It detects the network name and my mobile number but not a signal. Please see the attached image.
SuperSU works fine and grants permission to Root Explorer which also works fine.
But 'getprop: permission denied' is shown in front of most of the headings in 'Phone information' tab in MTK Droid Tools.
And when I click 'Root' button in MTK Droid Tools the following message is shown 'ERROR: SU inaccessible'.
I have granted permission to ADB Shell in SuperSU.
If I manually open adb shell I get $ prompt and then I type su to get # prompt.
I think that maybe permissions of some files are not ok.
For example, I just purchased an HTC One which is running the very latest Snapdragon S600 chip and Adreno 320 and I'm comparing it to the iPhone 5 (A6 and PowerVR SGX543MP3).
Here are a few applications (mostly games) that I've tried on both devices:
* Fruit Ninja - Touch input is delayed by about half a second on the HTC One but instant on iOS.
* Simpons Tapped Out - The voice sometimes stutters and moving buildings just isn't as fluid as iOS.
* Browser (Chrome and Android default) - Scrolling isn't as smooth.
Like I said, I'm honestly not biased one way or the other but this is just what I have noticed. The iPhone 5 has a much lower resolution but I've also had similar results on the iPad Mini (1024x768 resolution).
Does every application written for Android need to optimized for every individual CPU and perhaps these applications weren't optimized yet?
I just bought a tablet, and want to restore a few apps to it (I can install them from the market, but it's the data I'm more interested in). Is this a no-no?

The correct settings are now in but the MMS is stuck at "downloading" status. Is there any way I can rescue it, there is no forward option and I've successfully sent and recieved MMS since.
