General :: Rooted Irulu 4.2.2 Tablet - BusyBox Works But Command Does Not Elevate To Root?
Dec 6, 2013i recently bought a cheap irulu tablet off ebay. it's running 4.2.2, and i'm not quite sure if it's rooted or not. i've read that most of their tablets are rooted right out of the box, so i downloaded 4 or 5 root checkers from the marketplace and some said it was rooted and some said it was not. i know that it does have su and busybox installed, but i don't have one of those superuser apps that request permission or anything. i can browse my full phone with any file explorer. i installed titanium backup, and it says on the main screen that root access is ok, but then it will pop up an error message that says:
BusyBox works but the "su" command does not elevate to root. There's something wrong with your "su" binary and/or "Superuser" app.

Oct 5, 2011I "permanant" rooted my vodafone 858 with z4 root.. and when it turned itself to reboot, it got stuck on the vodafone logo..! The phone won't load, and the vodafone logo repeditely comes up....
Does this mean that my phonen is bricked and I should chuck it away?? Is there anyway to fix it?

I tried to run the tool as I did before but it ended very soon and the phone didn't restart as expected, maybe LG fixed the exploit to root this phone. How to root it after upgrading to V10c?

Jun 14, 2013I purchased a AOSON M60 fabbed at foxconn a couple of weeks back, it claims to be pre-Rooted. From Item Description: "The machine has obtained permanent ROOT privileges, a great convenience to the user management system software and remove unwanted software."
I have tested this with the Root checker app and it fails reporting that the device isn't rooted. I have checked this with Titanium Backup and it also reports it's not rooted.
When i have checked this with SuperOneClick v 3.2.2 it says:
Checking if rooted... CheckIfRooted 0.14s True
Checking for shell root... CheckIfShellRooted 0.15s False
The application then stopps at Shell rooting device...-Step #7 WaitForDevice (This never completes)
From my simple understanding, the shell rooting is a one shot thing per boot, and isn't required if the device reports back that rooted=true.

May 16, 2010I know I'm on ver2. But is it the root? When I downloaded it there was also a recovery that I did not use. Did that screw me for root? Or am I just thinking wrong? Do we know if someone is working on rooting the leak versions? I know a lot of questions. My phone works really well on ver2 and I am afraid to go to ver3 and get the crap everyone else is dealing with, but root would be nice. Now that I have had the time to learn about it and how it works.

General :: GoogleMusic Only Works On CM?
Sep 18, 2012 I can stream Music on GoogleMusic only over Wifi on certain roms (all AOKP ROMS), i now i have CM10 Jellybro and it works fine over my 3G network now, but once i use a different rom it blocks it.
I started googling this issue and found that modifying the host file with 127.0.0.0 and 0.0.0.0 so i tried that via ROM Toolbox. Still did not work.
What i tried so far:
- deauthorized all devices connected to GoogleMusic
- Cleared cache on GoogleMusic
- Installed a different version of GM
- Changed Host values via ROM Toolbox to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.0.0 or 127.0.0.0 or 0.0.0.0
since my fall break is about to start next week i wanted to take apart one of these roms to take a closer look, but where i can find host files on such a file, or anything that might influence behaviour like this?

May 15, 2014I take the CyanogenMod 10.3 for my Alcatel OT995, it works fine on my device, but I can't use adb command line neither other features using adb.exe ! I can only access to storage mass device, so I think I have a problem with the USB drivers which connect ADB command to my phone. I can add that before I've installed this Rom on the device, I've installed many drivers on the PC :
Firstly I installed the owner's driver provided by Alcatel in the AlcatelAndroidManager.exe package,
secondly I installed the Google USB drivers provided because I'm using Android Virtual Devices (AVD Manager) to do some developping works. I used to launch adb with "adb start-server" so it's still working, I don't obtain any device in the list with "adb devices", why don't I get it ?
I've realized some cleaning actions : I uninstalled the USB drivers of Alcatel's software, I uninstall the Google USB driver , to finish I reboot the PC but it don't changed anything I tried to apply this (well explained) post without any success :URL.... May 1, 2014I had been using Dropbox for Camera Uploads that I take with my phone so that I know I have them backed up, but Dropbox has such a low storage that I wanted to turn to Google Drive/Google Photos.
Ever since I made the attempted change. From what I've gathered, if you use Auto Backup for your phone, photos that you take will be uploaded to Google Photos BUT not into ANY album and simply sorted by date. Even local files that are neatly organized into folders are just thrown into Google Photos, forcing you to hope you can find that one photo you are looking for.
Of course, you can put those photos into albums AFTER you back them up/upload them but that's difficult, so why do they NOT have it organized by folders/albums? Is there no way to do this? I also wanted to be able to do that by having my photos from my desktop to backup to Google Photos but it is a hellish nightmare trying to sort through all of them.
I just want to be able to organize my photos (around 2k worth) and not have to take a day or two just to sort my photos in albums when they should be in the first place.

The installation seemed to be succesful, after it was done it rebooted into CWM. Then, when I tried to boot into CWM from a power off state, I wasn't able to do that (Volume up button + power button).
When I choose 'Reboot into recovery' in ROM Manager, it just boots into CWM.It's a limitation of the method I used to install CWM?

Aug 28, 2012I am using the SSH Tunnel app on a rooted HTC One S which is otherwise stock. It works perfectly on my home wifi network (if I access an ip web page it shows my SSH server's ip).
If I then turn off the tunnel, disconnect from wifi, reconnect over 3g it connects fine, but when I access the same site it shows my phone's IP, not my servers.
Are there any known issues that prevent SSH Tunnel from working on 3G?

Oct 16, 2013recently I have received a Galaxy Nexus from A sibling because it had a defective charge port. I had replaced it (which included a new mic). I noticed my mic didn't work with phone calls (I understand that people were experiencing a muted effect, I cannot even hear a muffled sound. just fuzzy background recording) as well as with certain apps like snapchat. however with certain apps and features such as Smart Voice Recorder, and Text-to-speech feature, it functioned perfectly with clear recording. I have plugged in a external mic, as well as a two individual headsets with mic feature, and the same problem persist. I have even gone as far as to download the Soundabout app which allows me to decide what my primary recording device is, and still no resolve.
