Battery of desire hd drains very fast even in the deep sleep. Tried every rom did full wipe turned off wifi gps etc tried every thing but no luck i tried current widget it not below 60 MA. Is it the problem of battery or the hardware? and when i switch to airplane mode amazingly it goes to 2 MA.

I have 2 batteries for my phone, both of which show the exact same problems. The battery drains very quickly on standby (8 hours or so). It drains when off and if I turn off my phone and remove the battery for about an hour, it loses 10-20% of the battery. A lot of people told me it had something to do with the wakelock or some app but that's not what it is. Wakelock is fine and with stock apps only it still drains way to quickly. Airplane mode doesn't work either. It charges exactly as fast as it drains too.

Clearly something is wrong as usually the battery would last most of the day if it was on standby.I thought it was an application, so I uninstalled everything I installed in the last day or so.

The battery would not charge when hooking it up via USB to my desktop or AC.I took the phone to the Tmobile store and they swapped out the battery for me. The battery runs fine unplugged but as soon as I plug in the USB adaptor it starts losing a % of charge every 10 secs. As soon as I unplug it the draining stops. I called the Tmobile store again and they said it may be the USB adaptor. Well, I have a spare cable. I used it and the same thing happens.Is there something wrong with my phone? Is there a setting I need to adjust? Anyone experienced this yet?

Is the battery life for the mini pro generally this sad? Or is it just my piece that's rubbish? I've noticed that my battery charges pretty fast. Sadly, it drains just as quickly. I have obviously looked for all the tweaks in several threads, with no result. Though I am using Cobrato Miui 2.3.2 with the kernel modded by Cobrato himself, I will try another kernel and somehow I'll get out of trouble.
- if is there a way, from xterm, to access kernel-config, without using an app with its UI (I don't like UIs, which I find misleading);
- if I can check via terminal emulator how deep sleep is configured and what it actually is, because answers like "it is a conservative cpu status" don't mean much to me, I'd like to know the frequency of deep sleep for my phone and if it can be blocked or activated in any way.
my Infuse 4g uses 25% of the battery when it's in deep sleep during the 6 hours I sleep. Yes, it is in deep sleep. Yes I have BBS. There are only one or two wakelocks for only a couple minutes each for twitter sync and things like that. How can it possibly be using that much battery in deep sleep? It's on CM10, but the problem only appeared after having it installed for several days. Normally I get maybe 2-5% use over my sleep period.
I thought deep sleep = deep sleep and it has a constant near-zero power consumption.
I have an HTC Rezound running Android 4.0.1, and I notice that it very rarely enters sleep mode, even after the screen has been off for a very long period of time.
Is there any way I can determine which apps are keeping the phone from entering sleep mode? ..or which app is waking it up constantly, whichever the case may actually be?
I have tried doing a logcat and just let it run for a while after turning the screen off, but I'm not quite sure what to look for in the results..
I have a sony xperia u running ice cream sandwich. The google maps app keeps on "restarting" status when I go to check the running apps. It is preventing the phone from going into deep sleep, therefore consuming 20% of battery overnight. This does not happens all the timeI have included a screenshot below.
View 5 Replies View RelatedNight before last, I charged the battery to 100% before I went to sleep. When I was going to sleep, I unplugged it. When I woke up 7 hours later, it had only dropped 30% to 70%. I did the software upgrade, and the battery jumped back up to 80% and lasted a Long time. Well, last night, I did the same thing, and when I woke up, my battery had dropped to 50%. The phone was supposedly sleeping this whole time! A few minutes on the browser to look up the issue brought me down to 40%.
All I installed yesterday was YellowPages, WhitePages, Flikie (then uninstalled it) and LauncherPro (could this be the culprit?). Before I went to bed though, I opened GMail, and it was having trouble connecting to the server and finally gave me a "retry" button because it couldn't connect. I never pressed it and just went to sleep. WiFi, GPS, everything was off, and the screen was set to lowest brightness (which doesn't even matter here.) Why it dropped so much?
had my desire since the first release date and everything was fine until a few days ago when my phone was very hot and the battery life was about 5 hours from full charge.I think it is something running in the background i have been into settings then checked to see what was running everything seemed fine so i am a little stuck, is there an app to see whats running.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI noticed that my Desire is heating up when Im internet browsing and the battery drains very quickly (100% to 10% in 1.5hour). Strange, because when Im not browsing the battery lasts for 2 days long. It happens only when I use it for a heavy Internet browsing or Market browsing (when it uses heavy data transfer). I use an unlimited data plan in Brazil. It occurs when I use the Wifi too. I looks like when Im tethering, but Im not.
Can it be something about processor clock control? Ive upgraded to 2.2 recently.
I made an custom ROM.... but as I shutdown mobile and switch it on again then it is not going to on...To start it back i have to pull out the battery and then reinsert it again and then it is starting...And if i reboot the mobile then its rebooting....but if i shut it down and turn it on back then problem persist...
View 2 Replies View RelatedFirstly I want to clarify that I am NOT talking about a normal battery drainage caused by background apps, foreground apps, enabled wifi, bluetooth, google background activities, synchronisation, facebook, google location settings, any antivirus app or something of that kind. There are plenty of threads about that and google search is full of this topic. I am talking about something else when it comes to sudden and quick battery drainage.
It already happened to me a couple of times when I use the built in projector of my phone (samsung galaxy beam). So I watch a movie on the projector and it takes let say.. around 30 percent of my battery life. After I turn the projector off, close all foreground and background activities I wait like a minute or 2 and the battery status drops from lets say 28 to 20. This is normal as the battery status somehow needs some time to get "updated". So after every single fore- and background activity is closed and I got 20% battery left I go to bed. Then in the morning I look at my phone and its dead meaning the battery dropped to 0 causing the phone to turn off. And thats not normal for me. (I do hear the sound of very low battery in the early morning meaning it doesnt turn off within 1 hour which would mean faulty battery) First I was thinking that this problem might be caused by previously overheating the battery but I checked the temperature and here all is fine. Also both batteries are not too old and still work normally (beside the described problem). I may add that using the projector itself is not an "extreme" usage of the battery. When I use the projector, play an HD android game connected to my ps3 controller ...that is a different story.
So my question is what could cause this rapid battery percentage drop even tho the phone has no activity at all and sleeps. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it does not tho..If I would not use the projector then I loose around 2-3 percent overnight, if I use it then I sometimes loose 20% without doing anything. And thats not normal. Maybe android somehow thinks that there is still activity even tho there isn't. Like a virtual activity making the battery think its in use and therefore draining it.

So, after getting rid of my iPod Touch and a lovely Sony Ericsson Elm, I'm in the possession this beautiful device. I've been currently using this device as my main music player as well, it seems very good (apart from no equalizers).
The problem is, the music player seems to drain the battery pretty fast. I've been searching around and people have said to have gotten max 7 and a half hours on a full battery? Compared to even the iPhone 3g, which I know is UP TO 24 hours, but that doesn't ever mean you'll get full time, probably 15 or 16 hours, thats very poor.
I have my desire from the end of april. Everything was ok, battery runs about 30-50 hours depending on the load til last week monday. I start to receive a sms about missed calls and peoples tell me what then they call me operator says that phone is out of reach. Now the battery runs only a day. about 12 hours.
I take a look into Battery use and there shows that Android system uses about 63% Is this normal?

At the top of my phone, on the status bar, there is a small icon of a red battery with a line through it. How did I start getting this notification and how do I get rid of it? Sometimes battery just drains out by 10% or so with just an eye blink! Battery details showed that it's staying awake (or something is making it stay awake) while in sleep. Tried using BetterBatteryStats to find the draining app. But just 'kworker' and 'admsrv (or something like this)' seemed to be the only problems. Tried flashing and/or factory resetting 5 or 6 times and still no improvement.
When I purchased the phone, the battery would last about four hours until I installed advanced task killer. After group, it sucks. I checked to make sure it was still on safe mode and would only sync my gmail account. What are my options?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm new here and a new Eris owner had it now for about a week and love it so far.I've read through several of the threads here about the battery and best ways to conserve, and I've tried to apply them (and I appreciate the info I've been able to find here).I'm conditioning the battery now (fully drained/charged it a few times), have set the brightness down lower, turned off bluetooth & wifi, set email checking to 2 hrs rather than 15 minutes.My question is about the effect on the battery of using facebook and peep/twitter as apps running on their own home screen.I have each of these two on their own screen so I can see updates but is this more draining on the battery than instead just having the apps as icons and then opening them up (meaning does this mean they are open all the time and draining battery)? Also, I have 3 email accounts setup but set to check every 2 hrs. Would this be more draining than just 1 email that checks every 30 minutes?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm really not "using" my Android S3 phone all day long, it gets frustrating when the bettery runs at 30% at 2pm, without any real use.
So the concept would be:
1) either a "ROM" of Android, which would be seriously minimal - like the device is not a smartphone - so only wake up on incoming call or text message
2) or an app, which does the same thing - suspends the phone completely, and wakes it up only on the incoming call or text message
I was just curious - does something like this exist? I don't care about apps, notifications, wifi or sync, I was thinking more along the lines of would it be possible to use your smartphone like a typical "cell phone", and when you need other apps or full features (GPS navigation with maps, or Shazam, or whatever it is you need) - you just "reboot" or do a quick switch to "full Android" mode, and use those features.
I feel that the battery life should be at least 5 days in that mode, with light usage?
Interesting....I start at 80% battery...insert the Dx into the official moto car dock and car charger...drive using nav for 3hrs and my battery is down to 50%. I also stream pandora simultaneously. I would expect the charger to keep up but it is a losing battle....
