General :: Current Status Of Syncing ICloud?

I'm about ready to make the jump from iOS to Android. I am pretty deeply imbedded with Apple by having an iPad, macbook and family using apple. We use the iCloud calendar quite a bit so it would be a requirement that I continue to use it. What is the current situation with syncing and using a 4.4 os with iOS 7? I have read some stuff, but it was older. Has anything changed? Is it still something that can be done with relative ease? Those who are using it... Any caviets you noticed or wish you had done differently?

Is a mod possible that displays the current data/network traffic speed in the status bar whenever there is any traffic? The text should be displayed whenever there is any traffic and hides automatically when there is no traffic. The place where date is displayed should be good.

Is there any way to sync icloud contacts and calendar back and forth to my S4? I use Mac computers and would like to use my S4 and have all of my contacts and calendar off of icloud.

I mostly use my smartphone to take pictures and the iCloud photo stream sharing option is great for sharing pictures with close family members. Apple makes it ridiculously easy to do this quickly with a few clicks. My parents love it because they can easily see the pictures we share with them on their iPhones and iPads.
However after using a Nexus 4 for a month, I am thinking of making a switch to Android permanently. It is a great phone. However the inability to sync pictures with the iCloud photo stream is giving me second thoughts. The Google+ sharing feature is not very intuitive...or at least it is not as easily done. Since I've got my parents trained on iOS, and the Photo album contains every thing in one place, I don't want to try to get them used to a new app.
Is there an easy way to sync pictures that you take on your Android device with your iCloud photo stream without having to plug the phone to a laptop?

How can i check the current status of the GPS receiver?
I already checked the LocationListener onStatusChanged method but somehow it seems that is not working, or just the wrong possibility. So basically i just need to know if the gps icon at the top of the screen is blinking (no actual fix) or solid (fix is available)..

My applications carries on processing when the user presses the home key, and generates status bar notifications if something happens the user requested to be notified about.
If a user holds the home key and then selects the application, it is restored in its correct state with the activity on top that showed when the user left.
However, since the intent that is associated with the status bar notification is FLAG_ACTIVITY_NEW_TASK and I put in the class name of the activity that launched the application (I assume this is what I must do?), the launcher activity is started when the notification is "clicked". I can then switch the application back to the current activity by starting that "active" activity again, but then I seem to have two instances of the activity in memory, since I have to press back twice to leave it. And I suspect my activity stack is then messed up as well.
I have set the launcher activity to be singleTask, but that only helped a bit. From my reading I thought this would just give the task focus if the launcher activity is not on top, but instead it gives the launcher activity the focus.
Is there a way for a notification click to work more like the task switcher provided by long pressing the home button?

I gave up on Samsung, with their useless support.I would like my contacts and calendar to be the same at all times on my computer (windows 7 outlook 2010) on my phone (Note 3 with 4.3) and on my iPad (air)..I've been trying to sync outlook to the android, but no luck.So thought I will try to sync the iCloud to the Android, maybe that works.

The default behavior of an activity when BACK softkey is pressed is, GO BACK TO PREVIOUS ACTIVITY. If some the same activity is waiting for some response from server or some data updation is going on and then press BACK, I want to wait on the same screen till the current task is completely processed and then move out to the previous activity.

I want to flash ClockWorkMod Recovery on my device. It isn't officially supported. I've seen some ports of CWM Recovery. But before trying them out, I would like to backup my current recovery image.

I don't mean 'minmize' like what pressing the home or back button does. (which merely puts it in the multitasker menu list, still open.)
I mean closing it like when you swipe it out of the menu list. (which are far as I can tell, seems to close it off enough to stop what it's doing and free up the memory it was using!)
Sometimes I want to just close an app since I know I won't be using it for a while and I want to conserve cpu/memory/battery - or merely manage the list of things in my multitask list. kinda like on Desktop. (you don't want every app on your pc open all at once, do you, do you?!) and I just want a simple way like on the desktop to close that app when I want to close it.
SO: Is there some app that can assign a custom screen gesture (like the lovely letter C for 'close') to perform 'fully exit current app'?

When trying to flash my own made update.zips through CWM, I get the error message: Status 6.
This points toward a mistake in my updater-script file, but I cannot find my mistake.. I tried multiple things and ended up with this.. But it seems to be wrong! I keep getting (Status 6) error.

I have tried to modify my rom on MTK6589 device but on CWM flashing it says Error, STATUS 0. I have tried edify and amend scripts but still no luck.
