I want certain apps (games etc) to be exempt from Android's auto closing algorithm, or at least be asked for permission when the system wants to close an inactive app. Is there any app that can do this?

i have an alcatel ot 983 just tried to root it and unlocked with codes provided by o2 uk everything was ok when suddenly many apps closed instantly after opening them . one of the apps not opening is the stock internet browser

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am use CSipSimple for my VoIP calling and unfortunately, every time I do a Memory Clear (under the RAM tab), it kills nearly all of my programs including CSipSimple. I know that 2 apps that this action definitely doesn't close is my AVAST! mobile security and my Ultimate Rotation Control. I'd like to be able to make CSipSimple be immune to such "clears" as those two apps but I do not know how to go about it.
At the moment, I always have to reopen it after I clear and sometimes it takes a bit for it to reconnect.
Im thinking about buying the samsung galaxy s soon. But I would like to know wha the bugs are? I know theres a problem with the gps im sure. Ive also heard things like the general opening and closing of apps is slow? is this true?

When I do a backup with TB, it goes fine.
Then I flash a new rom, restore with TB. When app is restored, everything's fine, but when I restore data, every app is force closing... This is really annoying if I want to get back my apps settings...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently using a Samsung Galaxy Note LTE and this phone is really getting on my nerves. Sometimes I am using an app halfway and it suddenly auto-close for absolutely no reason. Just to note, it's running on Android 4.0.4 ICS. GT-N7005
Maybe I should have bought an GS3 or something else other than this garbage.
When I open browser(Boat browser or any other) and navigate to some url it works. Downloads are also working fine, but when i press 'home' button and go to home screen, the speed goes down to zero, but internet is connected. When I again switch back to browser, speed goes up.
This happens even when I lock screen. And even my gmail and google play apps are not working

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an AT&T Samsung Note 3 SM-N900A running Android 4.3 (baseband version N900AUCUBMJ5, kernel v3.4.0-1625098). I rooted it using Kingo, installed Tasker (with Secure Settings plugin), and created 2 profiles: one with a 'Home' location context, and one with a 'Work' location context. In the 'Location Edit' map screen for each, I set a pinned location w/ a radius of 200m. I also de-select 'GPS' (leaving only 'NET'), since I don't want GPS enabled all the time (to extend battery life). I confirm that these work when I'm actively using the phone.. the profile becomes active when I'm at the specified location (as expected). I know it's active because it's displayed in the Notification Panel (and it's also shown in green in the Tasker profiles list).
The issue I'm having is that after ~10 minutes of idle time (i.e. when the display is off and I'm not using the phone), I find that the profile is no longer active when I turn the display back on and start using the phone again. I confirmed that this *doesn't* happen after 1 minute, 2 minutes, nor 5 minutes, only > 10. I also confirmed that it happens for both profiles consistently. However, as soon as I start Tasker again from the Apps Drawer (or from Recent Apps screen), the profile is immediately activated again, and my Enter task is re-run.
I enabled the run log in Tasker prefs, but it basically shows a clean activation of the profile (with no warnings or anything that looks weird to me).
I know there's a 10-minute timeout in the Display Off Monitoring prefs, but that doesn't seem to be related to my issue. I tried reducing the All Checks Seconds from 600 to 90, rebooted the phone, and it still took ~10 minutes before the profile would become inactive after the phone being idle.
Is anyone else having problems with the Market after installing or updating an app? Twice now it has FCed after I updated an app. And worse, the second time, when I went back to the Market to review my downloaded apps, it only lists Gmail and Photobucket. None of the other 15 or so apps I've downloaded are listed!

Google Maps and internet were using the battery eventhough I wasn't using them. I tapped on Google Maps and Internet and got an option to close the app so I did. But the apps didn't close.

This works fine, but I want to be able to toggle SMS receiving on and off by toggling the BroadcastReceiver on and off. Because if I have a simple boolean inside the onReceive method, even if the SMS receiving is off, my application will start.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have read a number of the posts on this board and tried to condition my new phone for best battery life, etc. and haven't added many apps yet. However a few of them keep crashing ALL the time and it's really annoying. Particularly Google Talk and Gmail, the native apps that I didn't install. I will open them up, press one button (on an email or a name) and then it will just close back to the home screen. It will do this five or six times in a row before it lets me use the app. I have been using task panel but have both apps on the "ignore" list so I don't think that should make a difference, and come to think of it it did that before I installed task panel. The phone is literally three days old.
View 8 Replies View RelatedIve been having difficulties with the following 3 apps closing on their own while i am using them (not force closing, but more like someone pushed the home butt I am pretty keen with these devices but this is a problem that i cannot seem to figure out. i do not use any task killers, but i do use "startup auditor" that i have killing some stock apps like "news" and "weather" but i made sure to stear clear of anything that had "motoblur" or "google" in the title. Anyone else been experiencing this symptom with ANY apps, with or without a taskiller?

I open maps again and sometimes i get to type more or less than the previous try. i didnt mind it as i didnt use maps all that much but now i use this more and still has this issue. I just got it for the first time today trying to post on facebook status as well. Im running CM 6.0.0 FRG22D. BUT i have had this problem since i got the phone even when it was fully stock, this has been an issue with every ROM ive used ..BB's, Fabs, CM, UD.. does anyone have this problem or seen it before ? i found one case in another forum but it was never solved.

Now I want to be updating the beta and also fix any bugs that has been reported.
But of course I would want to keep the original released copy so that I can figure out the bugs and what not.
And then as final versions get released I would want to do the same with each released version.
So I need some kind of version control system. I am new to all this so I'm not sure what the best/simplest way to go about doing so.
I'v googled around and there seems to be numerous revision control systems with a lot of features I don't really need.
But as long at its easy to do what I'm looking for I'll be happy with it. I am also using eclipse so something that goes great with it would be nice.
I'm not too sure how it would all work.
Just downloaded Bar Control and in the list there are apps doubled up or more i,e camera 4 times. Anybody else get this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had my htc incredible for a few days and I absolutely love it. However, I am less than pleased with the battery life. I run a good amount of apps and widgets and am sure this is causing the life to drain. I downloaded ATK in order to close apps when not in use, but I've noticed a strange occurrence. It seems that w/i 10 minutes of closing unneeded apps a bunch of programs that I have not been using open up. Is there any explanation for this? Also, is there a way to immediately close an app when I'm done using it rather than having to find the ATK widget?

I've seen I think one million threads for apps available to turn your Android phone in to a remote control for your PC, but nothing that goes the other way. I've just come from several years of Windows Mobiling and I've always had access to several apps that will allow me to control my phone from my PC.
