What do I have to do to make ADW my default. After everything I do, I get a pop up saying Complete action using ADW or Home. I checked the option to "use by default for this action", and then choose ADW, but the same pop up comes back. Is there anything for me to do once and for all to make ADW my default?

Would this be a ROM issue? Maybe an issue with Launcher Pro Beta? When I hit my home screen button, it takes a few seconds for my shortcuts and widgets to load. I really like LPB but am not liking how long it's taking to load. I set it as my only launcher in my ROM that I made so I can't go into another launcher and see if it's slow, does anyone think that could be the culprit?

I rooted my EVO and flashed a ROM that has Launcher Pro installed. While I was playing with the phone I chose for the default launcher to be used. I'd like to change that now and can't find a way to make LP my default launcher.
Second, I'm not 100% sure about this, but I believe that most or all of the Sense widgets cannot be used while LP is being used. If that's the case, are there alternatives to the bookmarks widget and the Friend Stream widget?
And lastly, can anyone confirm that the EVO has LED colors other than red/orange and green? Those are the only two I've seen.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI do have a few questions about the phone. i was wondering if there is a way to make text messages alerts show up on my screen. i have an app that shows if i have one unread but it is pretty small. every other phone i've had had a pretty big notification for texts. also is there a way to have the screen light up when you get a text? there is a sound that plays when i get a text, but the screen does not light up. not sure if im just missing something, but is there a way to set different tones for different notification? right now the same thing plays when i plug my phone in, that plays when i get a text. none of these are huge issues, but i am just curious if there is a way to make some changes on the phone. im sure ill figure it out or just get used to it.

View 6 Replies View RelatedSo i had a hard decision to make when buying a new phone. It was between the HTC Hero and the Samsung Moment. After about 2 weeks I finally made the jump. A lot of the apps are on the I phone and I touch which is pretty cool. But can anyone tell me if it is possible to maybe change the phone kinda like jail breaking? Is there anyway of making the Moment a wireless tether for internee?

View 4 Replies View RelatedLast Friday an OTA update became available for my Epic.I now have Media Hub, which I did not have on my phone when I purchased it last week.Ever since the update while in an application I press the "Home" key to return to my main screen and a window pop-ups that shows 3 options: Home, TWLauncher or LaunchPro. When I click on the check mark "Use by default for this action" and then LaunchPro.I select the LaunchPro by default and you would think that would be the last time i have to do that.It doesn't set it by default and that window keeps popping up every time I try to go back to the touchscreen while inside in an app.I went into the manage applications screen to clear the defaults for the "Home" and "TWLauncher" instead of clearing the defaults for the "LaunchPro". Doing that still doesn't make the LaunchPro the default. When I go back into an application and choose to view my main screen by pressing the "Home" key the pop-up windows comes up for me to make a selection between "Home", "TWLauncher" or "LaunchPro".
I also did download a Home launcher program called "Home Switcher". That still does not lock in the default for me to use LaunchPro.It seems to me that I'm going to have to go to the Sprint store for them to fix the problem, unless you have any more ideas.I did try to troubleshoot this the best I could before posting my problem on here. I'm at a loss as to what to do. Other than this bug I love my Epic.Can anyone help me? I really don't want to go to the Sprint store about this. Is this a permanent bug or is there a solution out there for this? Maybe this is a bug that the 2.2 Froyo update could fix.
Well I decided to try out 2.1 on my Moment and i'm loving it so far. =) but i would like to get rid of the N1 Launcher. Cant figure out how, can someone help me out or point me in the right direction?

Can you make "recent calls" tab the default screen rather than the dial pad tab?
For me, chances are that I'd call someone that I've recently called or talked to.
I rarely use the dial pad anyway. I don't use the dial pad tab as often as the contacts tab.
I've been using LP for about a week (it's great BTW!) and this just started to happen so it could have something to do with the latest update. I've set LP at the default launcher and everything works great. However, if I ever long press the "home" button, go to an application, then press "home" again I get the popup asking me which launcher I want to use. I check the "set as default" box then select LP and everything is good again. It all works until I long press home the next time, then the remembered default is gone and I get the prompt again. I've tried rebooting, clearing defaults, etc.

I have found a few on the Market but so far none are filling the bill as to what I need. Basically I have a little hearing loss so prefer basic tone type ring tones rather than a tune or clip from some song or movie. Funny but I kinda like the ring tone of the old standard phone ringer. Can someone suggest something on the Market or some other alternative? I suppose it's as easy as downloading anything using my computer and sending it to my cell phone and using it from there.

I tried to find it listed in the list for ringtones to no avail. I've also checked a couple of different options but the phone is set to the voice announcement by default. Please help. My phone is rooted (I think), but currently I am on a looong learning curve to be able to troubleshoot these things on my own.

Its all black, and just says ME: Other Persons name: no avatar etc. Anyone know if theres a way to show the contacts avatar/image just like the Hero? I hate to install handcent for functionality that basically already exists by default. I Know it doesnt have popup's etc like handcent, but unless theres another app out there? I just hate to install app after app taking up memory.

Problem I'm having is that the default music player app likes to compete with it. When I use Bluetooth (Ford Sync) the music player app likes to start automatically.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFirst of all I have a Sprint Epic Touch 4G AKA Samsung Galaxy 2 S and not rooted,
I keep getting prompt to select which launcher(launcher or twlauncher) when I press the home button. I would select set as default and then select twlauncher. This would work fine and I could do what I want and the home button acts normally. BUT if I long press the home button to bring up task manager and a list of recent apps, it would break the default setting on twlauncher. I could go to setting and manage app and see that the default on twlauncher is now cleared even though I did not manually clear it. I tried checking set as default and then select launcher. It too won't stick AFTER I long press the home button.
Long story short, I downloaded several launchers from the market and none of them will stay set as default IF I long press the home button. It breaks the default every time and ask me to select the launcher to use when I press the home button. Now this would be great if I could just delete all the other launcher and have only one but I can't delete the stock launcher or twlauncher.
So the first time this happen, I was driving down the road using telenav when I see the prompt to select which launcher(something that I've never seen after using the phone for 2 weeks).
1. Start task manager and kill all active app and clear memory from RAM
2. Clear defaults from manage application....twlauncher
3. Click home button, click set as default and then launcher instead of twlauncher- still does not stick after long press home button.
4. Manage application...twlauncher CLEAR DATA (sure enough my neatly organized homepage and apps folder was reset to stock).
5. Pull battery
6. Cycle power on and off.
7. Gave up after 24 hours and factory reset the phone.
8. Went on my merry way and reinstall apps and customizing home page and apps pages and so on.
9. In hindsight, I should have long press home button every time I installed a new app to see which one will break the default.
10. Phone works fine for 24 hours and then it mysteriously acts up again. It ask me to choose which launcher again.
11. Went back to googling and tried the following which did not work:
a. clear media hub data and default
b. installed Sprint "clean" ID and then later deleting it.
c. installed go launcher and see if it will stick
d. installed launcher pro
e. installed home switcher
f. I don't have Qik or some child lock apps
g. search XDA and found about 15 threads and tried everything in those thread short of using Titanium to freeze one launcher.
Right now I just won't long press the home button to bring up task manager or recent apps and everything will work just fine. Minor annoyance but I guess I can live with it until the ICS update.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI really like this phone a whole lot better with the exception of one thing. The default calendar theme sucks. With regards to the apps out there that allow you to theme, which ones do not drain the battery if any? I am using this for work so I am trying to get something that looks pleasing to eye while at the same time not degrading my battery life. Any suggestions? I sure do like the keyboard better than the Hero's. Even after calibrating the Hero KB this one is much more responsive and I have fewer errors typing.

When I click the home button it just goes straight the the default home, and when I go to manage my home apps it doesn't let me choose clear defaults, it is grayed out.
