I was able to root my device correctly .. The issue started when I tried to install CWR by odin.. got into a starter loop or logo loop?
I then used my google fu to try and rectify the problem and ended up bricking it. But It can go into the down load mode. .

So I inherited this wonderful phone not knowing anything about it. Basically I wanted to put ICS on it but I can't...
- Computers do not detect it via USB when plugged in now (it did before). It does charge perfectly though so it's not a connection issue
- Can connect to KIES via Wi-Fi
- Download mode gets stuck. It just says Downloading... and stays there
The phone was originally Bell Canada but it's unlocked and works with my Rogers SIM.

The phone actually runs fine and all the regular cellular services work just fine. I just can update it to ICS or connect it to a computer USB (to transfer files etc. or do whatever).What can I do to correct this? Or is this thing stuck on this OS version and the way it is forever?
I had to write this up again cause my browser tab hung when I hit 'preview'. I couldn't even copy the text. Other tabs were working fine though. Is this XDA's fault or my browser (Chrome)? Anyway, teaches me to always write stuff up in Notepad first. So, onto the problem...
1. Some months ago, I flashed MIUI into my device, was working fine. I do the regular Friday night developer updates, although the notification doesn't always come up so I could've missed a few.
2. About 4 or 5 days ago, opening an application or sms started yielding the error message "android.process has stopped unexpectedly [FORCE QUIT] [WAIT]". I can sometimes get around this by fiddling around (rebooting, turning wifi/data on and off etc). It buys me just enough time to complete the task, but then the issue starts again. Phone calls don't yield this error, though.
3. Then today, I rebooted my device and it got stuck in an endless loop on the MIUI logo screen. Obviously this is related to the errors I've been getting. I booted into recovery and backed up my data to the internal SD. I don't believe the backup completed though. From memory, an error may have come up. It still, however, created a date stamped backup file.
4. Tried to restore the backup file, "missmatched MD5 checksum". Tried to restore an earlier backup, same thing. Tried some other restore options such as restore boot, restore data, restore system etc, still same thing.
5. Then I read that clearing the dalvik cache may fix the issue, so I went into advanced options and cleared the dalvik cache, rebooted, now my phone won't turn on, nor will it boot into recovery mode. It will, however, boot into download mode.
I rooted my Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G and then decided to unroot it. I was using Odin3 v1.85 and about half way through it failed and the phone restarted. Instead of booting into the OS is just displayed a message saying

And when I plug it in to to my computer to try to unroot it again, it would not recognize the phone, it did not appear in device manager. I tried two different cables, two different computers, and re-installed the drivers.
I just used a clockwork mod to root my Showcase(on revol wireless), and that part worked fine. However, I did a back up and flashed a cyanogen mod (version 7 something I think), that was ported to my phone. However, it was buggy when I got in and the sms would only send blank messages and the data was iffy. I went to restore my phone to the backup, and at first it went through and rebooted. During the boot, it just paused on the samsung logo, and it stayed that way for over 15 minutes. When I went to go back to the recovery mode, it received errors mounting the cache and what not. Now it refuses to boot at all and gives me the phone connected to the pc with the triangle and exclamation mark in the middle. It will still show the downloading mode, but even when I tried a different pda file in odin, it won't actually do anything. What can I do to try to get my phone working again?

i tired updating my galaxy s2 i9100g with ics (wasnt aware that its not supported) with odin and it showd me fail and now i am unable to switch it on it just shows phon and yellow triangle and computer logo when i connect it ot pc odin recognizes but kies not can sum1?is it bricked ?

my device is galaxy ace s5830i..i have already rooted my device and used CW Recovery and taken a copy of my original system.i wanted to set up a custom rom i restarted and reset and deleted the cash then installed the rom.i think it was Retribution beta then i wanted to update to that custom rom (MindCR ICS) all i did i restarted my phone of course went into R mode and reset and deleted the cash then installed that next custom rom .
after installing completed when i rebooted it only gave me (samsung galaxy ace s5830i) logo and doesn't open the system when i restart it doesn't go into recovery or download mode it only gives me again the same logo.i used odin v 1.81 and the latest version it doesn't recognize the phone and i can't go into download mode.
i had a half bricked tablet. it was able to boot into recovery and i installed a rom and now it boots but the android sign is all screwed up and i cant get into CWM anymore.. am i done for?

At first, I rooted my Galaxy S i9000 so I can remove the stock apps, but I couldn't seem to unroot it so I flashed the firmware. At first it said "failed" so I had to reboot it back into download mode to start the flashing again. I forgot to put on the back cover during the flash and the battery fell out. Now when I turn on my Galaxy S, it stays on the welcome screen where it says "Galaxy S GT-I9000 Samsung" and does not do anything. Is my phone bricked and what can I do to fix it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Samsung GT-P6800, that is 7.7 tab, actually, some days ago, it has developed the bootloop problem, I decided to load custom recovery and take the backup of the data, because I can't able to lose the data as the data is very much important that is stored on the tab, but when I load the Odin V3.70 & V1.85 and in the PDA section I load the .tar file of TWRP 2.6.3.0 recovery, and flash then I got the success & pass message in the Odin, but when I restart the tab in the recovery mode, I again go in to the Default stock recovery that is e3 Android System Recovery, I don't know why this is happening, as I have tried many versions of Odin as well as twrp and cwm recovery, but whenever I go in the recovery mode, I found the stock recovery loading(e3).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI need a stock recovery for Metro PCS Samsung Galaxy S3 (SGH-T999N)...I installed clockworkmod recovery onto my phone and didn't realize It wasn't going to be easy to remove it im trying to revert back so I can receive ota updates on my phone. Next month I heard talk about samsung releasing the kit kat update 4.4 to this phone correct. I would love to revert back so I can receive it inless you know of other ways of getting it other than installing custom roms....witch im not comfortable doing....I already messed up my phone in the process of rooting doing the ad block app....which then when I uninstalled it. I couldn't connect to the google servers.....so I had to go back and edit the host file and got it working finally but now I just want to remove this recovery..I want to update my rom I know people say do complete wipe and install the stock rom and that should remove it but I'm iffy on the subject because I don't want to brick my device if it doesn't agree with something. I'm not all that new to rooting I had a coolpad quattro which I rooted in the past phone btw don't ever buy it. As well as my first galaxy 1 from verizon and a galaxy aspire. but im having problems trying to understand and avoid bricking my device because I haven't even finished paying it off and it's 400 dollar device plus interest...
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to port cwm to the galaxy ring virgin mobile and i have a complete system dumb through adb but i need to find the recovery partition of my phone ive found system and cache and all the others but there is 4 un named partitions that have 8 mb each i dont want to pick and choose and mess it up. it seems like im the only one trying to do devolopement for this device. i have a feeling this device can handle cm10.1 or atleast 10 it has the 3.4 kernel 4.1.2 jellybean touchwiz 1.4 ghz single core processor.

After unsuccessfully attempting to install a custom rom, I believe I have accidentally deleted the stock rom for the device..So now, whenever I turn the device on, it automatically brings me to CWM recovery. I have tried to install a different rom onto the device unsucessfully, giving me an error saying "format() expects 5 args, got 4" It also says (Status 7). I have also tried to connect my device to my computer and hook it up to Odin, but Odin does not recognize the device.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an Allwinner A10 clone (Kurio 7), it is designed for kids but otherwise a standard android tablet. After hours of googling I rooted and installed CWM & Gapps (not included in the stock ROM). So far so good. The stock ROM was causing issues with some apps, it needed to go.
I flashed CM10 and it worked but no touch screen. It needed a compatibility flash to make it work. You can guess what's coming. I picked the wrong one and now the device does the following:
Reboot loop
Black screen (backlight though)
PWR+Vol up no longer gets to recovery
Vibrates constantly between reboots (due to wrong patch I'm guessing)
ADB picks up the device for a split second between reboots but "adb reboot recovery" does nothing. Even when using wait command. Tried "fastboot flash recovery cwm.img" after wait command, no luck. Is there anything else I can try?
"Android system recovery <3e>" when I push the "volume down + home + power button". I didn't went to "dowonload mode" but I just come with "android system recovery <3e>".
everyone just said like a simple "just try again, maybe you push the wrong button or anything" I told them I had try every thing before I ask them all and that's all didn't work.

I have the dead android with the red triangle on the recovery mode, I upgraded to jellybean 4.1.1 but some reason KIES reads my phone as being SGH I 747, so I factory whiped and reset, reinstalled 4.1.1. My original issue was when I wanted to sign into certain apps the phone would vibrate and then the app would crash and I would have to start over or not use the app! I tried to install a correct jellybean 4.1.1 into the phone hoping to fix the issues but I cant do anything, Now there is a dead android with a red triangle no clue what that is! When I tried to install another zip I get verification failed in recovery mode.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have flashed the GT-P1000 tab with clockworkmod version 6 (i am not sure the exact version) using Odin.Now after flashing the recovery, I have successfully installed Cyanogenmod 11 (nightly build) and everything was successful and everything is great.
A friend of mine borrowed the tab and he put a pattern to lock the phone, instead of asking him what is the pattern I just decided to wipe the tab again to make a clean install. So what I did was I went to recovery and selected "format /system" which I shouldn't have, then after rebooting it is not booting up to Cyanogen anymore, so what i did was I just wiped everything (format /data, cache and factory reset)
Now this is the weird part, the devices has kept on booting up to clockwork recovery and it says the device is not yet rooted, it is asking me if it is ok to root it, I always selected yes
After another boot up, the clockwork recovery is now version 3.0.0.5??? it is really weird? I never installed any clockwork mod with a lower version... How did that happen?
Now whenever I try to install from sd card or restore it or mount it nothing happens, it just says:
E:Can't mount
E:unknown volume
E:unable process volume! skipping
I tried to flash the recovery again using Odin many times but still the clockwork mod is stuck in version 3.0.0.5.
Right now, I am not sure if my understanding of the entire system is correct:
1. Should I install a new recovery, if yes, how and why is it whenever I am installing it again it is not being installed, it gets stuck to version 3.0.0.5?
2. Are there any other recovery I should use and how should I install it? is it the same as using the Odin?
3. Is there a way to install the original recovery of this tab and then from there I will start over again.

The display of my galaxy note is broken. Ihave a few important sms on it and need to save them before i send my device for repair. How can i do this if i can not see anything on the display? I am using an ics 4.0.3 leak on it.

But soon after it posted the following error message.

View 9 Replies View Relatedmy galaxy s2,it is rooted,and i have another problem : the phone restarts by itself and gets stucked in the boot loop, i never flashed a new rom ,it is running the stock rom,Someday i needed to factory reset the phone so i rebooted into recovery mode (power + home button +vol up) ,. I booted into recovery mode but the power button does NOT react as 'select' button although it works just fine for power on and off. I select a function and press [power] an the first line becomes the selected. pushing it again just flashed the screen. But pressing it long turns the phone off,and even after the factory reset from phone directly(with out going to recovery mode)

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm following step by step process to root my gt-s5310 using ODIN 3.07. Started from download mode and connect to the PC is no problem at all. ODIN finished with the GREEN PASS. When I tried to open recovery mode, only android recovery mode is open(but malfunctioning, going no where when I press the home button) that recovery mode also don't has "install zip from sd card" option.

View 2 Replies View Relatedlast week i decided to install cyanogenmod on my phone.Im using international version of Galaxy Note GTN7000.
I saw there was a windows installer on cm website..but wanted to make a backup of my current rom..
i rooted my phone using kingo android root..installed rom manager..flashed latest clockworkmod recovery..
but on booting into recovery,i found stock recovery was being forced..i read somewhere it was because of unlocked bootloader..
on cyanogenmod wiki page,i found installation of clockworkmod recov using heimdall..everything went fine ...blue progress bar was shown in the download mode...and when i rebooted into recovery mode i saw the first danger sign..there was a yellow triangle beneath galaxy note logo..
and then it booted into clockworkmod recovery 5.8..Foolishly i did a system backup..rebooted...surprised to find phone went into black screen after displaying a note logo with yellow triangle beneath..tried recovery from clockworkmod without hope but that didnt work as expected...
All i need now is to install cyanogenmod 10.1.3 stable on my device..i dont want a custom rom backup anymore..'
A weird problem appeared today with the phone of a friend of mine.I 'm a bit worried whether this might be a HW issue. The key combination does not bring the recovery screen.

Later it notifies to as SU Binaries outdated and need to update so I click on update and message appears that it is updated successfully and on the second moment my phone got OFF, and not getting ON niether normal booting nor recovery or downloading mode.
