Q2. Gmail etc sites are blocked in WiFi , is there any app which can browse to these URL's.

My laptop has 3 security levels for when using WiFi. For a home WiFi the least secure and a public WiFi the most secure. I'm using a public WiFi now and have searched my tablet settings for those sort of options, but can't find anything.

I had used some public wifis in mc donalds and airport in the past. I never had any problems. Yes, some required sms verifications, but anyways, my phone could connect to them.
After a month, i went to the airport and mc donalds again, but i cant connect to any of them. There were hotspots in other places as well, run by different telecom companies. all of them were open networks. but i just cant connect. I can still connect to my home WiFi.
Its not a ROM issue. i have tried several ROMs. I have never changed my baseband, mac address or anything like that.
Is it possible that my hardware is damaged? (but i can connect to my home wifi, which is also open) Or my mac address/phone number is "globally blocked"? (i had tried hotspots of different telecom companies. nd i dont know if theres a way to get my phone number by just trying to connect to a WiFi) Or have they installed something like "connect only with laptops"? does anything like that exist?

This is my first Android phone so I might just not know what I am doing. At work we have an open wi-fi network for patients and visitors to connect to. When they connect for the first time they are automatically re-directed to a sign on page where they must provide their e-mail address. After that they are free to use wireless internet services. My EVO will not re-direct to the page. When I tried it on a friends iPhone it worked just fine. My phone has not been rooted and i have tried both the default browser and two that I downloaded from the market. The phone is connecting to the WiFi and getting a strong signal.

App that tunnels my text and whatsapp message to another android device.
Like this scenario:
3G --> message ( whatsapp or text ) --> android device 1 ( proxy ) --> encrypted -->WIFI ( internet ) --> Android device 2
This way i can send and receive messages trough another android device that acts as an secure message proxy.

We have a work phone for our three shift supervisors to share. Any way or app that would allow us to setup three exchange emails that are each secured by a PIN or password? I've seen that android tablets can now switch users , but I don't think that is available on the phone yet. Phone is a Samsung S4.

we all know that sprint has had a page about the Samsung Epic, with the full spec sheet, but there was no sprint news release about the phone which means they were still not about to go all out advertising the phone. As of aug. 9th however, they have updated their news page to have the Epic be publicly displayed in their newsroom. Nothing in the link we already don't know (specs wise), but this does mean that they are beginning to make actual advertisements for the phone which only means the release date is drawing nearer.

i port/cook roms and i have a restricted access to my pc due to which i sometimes have to use my phone to upload files to dropbox but due to multiple downloads my account gets blocked for public access. I wanted to ask that if I put all my roms in a folder and share a link to that folder to my rom users, then will my account still get blocked for heavy traffic?

I want to store some small but critical piece of information such as AES keys in my Android application. What would be the recommended way to do this? I do not want to hardcode keys as part of my application. I look at KeyStore but it does not really solve my problem. It can store my keys given that I can provide a password. Then I need to find a secure place to store this password which is same as my original problem. Is there a built in Android class to perform this task? Or should I look for third party libraries? Using NDK is also acceptable for me.

I'm looking for a method or an application for android tablet, which allows me to quickly reset the device deleting any data (from the Internet cache, and the cache to the photos of the various programs such as facebook, twitter etc ...) and that does not allow any modification of the operating system. I need this solution because I have a restaurant and I want to put a tablet on each table for guests to make him see the menu (full of photos and videos), surf the internet and play with the kids.
is there an app that allows this? or is there a quick way to do this, such as a multiaccount management ? I remember, for example, that for windows there are applications that completely erase any unauthorized modification, files and cache, at the time you restart the operating system.

I got my free Fascinate last night at Best Buy (upgraded from an old BB Curve). As a Droid newbie, so far I love this phone, except I'm a little disappointed with the "locking pattern" used to secure the phone. Is there another option available to lock the phone similar to using just a regular password?

Are there any Droid users out there that are having trouble tracking and locking their phone with the Wave Secure? It backed up my info fine but it can't locate or lock my phone in both Firefox and IE. I installed Mobile Defense before I installed Wave Secure to test them both out but I've heard of ppl running them both with no problems.

I have been wondering over the last few days since getting an Android phone and trying to configure it to make it at least as productive as my previous smartphone. How secure is the information in a world where we put a large amount of personal info behind google-id and password? This id and pwd is plugged into the phone for functionality. We browse the Android Market for necessary apps provided by complete strangers and click Install. We click OK when caution is raised, with unknowing consequences and taking complete responsibility for the installation. Am I justified in being paranoid with Android model of doing things?
Please read the thread "ActiveSync for Android, Moment?" to understand better why I raise this question.

I've had the Desire a few weeks now and I love it. My problem is that when I surf the mobile internet. I am only getting a GPRS signal? i.e., I am only getting the 'G' symbol and the arrows in the notification bar when I am surfing. I've been various parts of the country surfing the internet but never ever seem to be able to get anything other than GPRS? - I keep reading about 3G,EDGE and HSPDA but it just doesn't seem like my Desire will connect to these, just the bog standard GPRS? Any settings I need to change?
Cos I am thinking that my web pages could be loading a lot quicker. Its just annoying because you read that 3G covers most of the UK, yet everywhere I've been going doesn't seem to show anything other than the single 'G' on the notification bar. (One interesting thing to note is that I downloaded the 3G watchdog app and that app shows you a little 3G notification in the upper bar - strangely enough this shows I have a half decent 3G signal, yet whenever I am surfing I am only getting GPRS).

After reading countless and countless threads about how to improve your battery life, and trying this hack and that hack, I see no difference in my battery life. I feel I have exhausted all resources, and as my subject states, I'm drained out as my battery on my EVO. You win HTC, I'm throwing in the towel, and accepting the fact that the battery life on this thing sux @$$. I'm done trying all the tricks that are out there. I'll have to live with the 1%/minute battery drain while surfing the web, and doing other normal activities on the phone. 100 mins of web browsing on the EVO and the battery is done! ....unreal.

Seems like since 2.1 my Droid runs hot when doing extended surfing or using the car dock. It gets very hot in the car dock (with GPS and navigation running). Combine that with the heat effects of the sun and the Droid gets very hot. Any one else notice this? Seems like this would be bad for both the Droid and the Droid battery. Normal?

My work is setting up a secure webpage and we are expected to be able to access it 24/7 to log alerts received when there are server errors at work. To access this secure webpage we were given two certificates, one for windows (home use) and one for mobile ( a .p12 file which I've read is compatible). I cannot access the webpage via Android browser or chrome browser (or any other 3rd party browser). I've imported the certificate using the import feature in Settings->Security and it showed a brief notification that the import was successful. However, the certificate isn't listed in the "User" section of the trusted credentials list. Now, I would suspect that the certificate wasn't made correctly, but the same exact one works on a co-workers iPhone (pains me to say that). I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, rooted, but otherwise stock.

I have a verizon samsung galaxy s3. I'm planning to upgrade to the kitkat 4.4 but I was going to do a nandroid backup first. Using rom manager I am attempting to go into recovery mode but everytime I try I get this message:
System software not authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on your phone. Please turn off your phone and go to the nearest Verizon Wireless store for support.
I disabled the knox sensor and then totally removed it and it's components. I don't know what else to try.

Does enabling a lock screen password do ANYTHING to protect the device from threats? Other than someone with physical access, obviously. Would it make installing malware or exploiting a security flaw any more difficult? Assume the device in question is not rooted, if that makes any difference.
