I'm thinking of games like Limbo for Xbox 360, Flower for Playstation 3, Sword & Sworcery for iOS, etc. Games that are more interactive art than game. Are there any good titles for Android?

But is android just as good? I really want to know of games like COD WAW ZOMBIES if thats on android or if AC-130 SPECTRA GUNSHIP is on it? I was wondering what some good free games were. Im just looking for some fun games to kill time with and to play around with when Im bored. Id like to stay away from games like checkers and puzzle games if at all possible. Also if their are any Zombie related games I could get Id be EXTREMELY grateful. One thing's that disappointed me is that all my apps have disappeared. I'm having a relapse in memory and for the life of me can't remember the apps I had installed. Anyone have any good apps to recommend? Good music players, good ebook readers, etc? Games?

View 19 Replies View RelatedDon't get me wrong, I didn't get a desire for gaming (i think we have got a long way to go before Android is a viable gaming platform), but I am sometimes surprised by the Desire's inability to run some games properly. Snapdragon processors seem very good at number crunching, but struggle with graphics. Look at the Quake 2 comparison of the Galaxy S and the Desire. of course, the Galaxy S is going to win, but I was surprised just how bad the Desire game out. can't have been more than 3-5 frames per second. I have seen this in other areas to, like the recent Sims 3 conversion for Snapdragon processors. Again, once things get a bit busy on the screen, the snapdragon simply starts to drop a ton of frames. So, are we seeing devs not optimising games for snapdragon processors? Or are snapdragons simply no good for games? That said, raging thunder 2 runs quite well. Like I said, this is more out of interest than anything else. Really like the Desire and never intended to do much 3d gaming on it, but some early results have been a little disappointing.

Love racing games but unfortunately this phone can't handle graphics like the big boys out there. Really just looking for a fun game, doesn't have to be visually extreme.

What are the best sources for applications like that? I want to look over the source code to get myself up to speed quickly.
(Please don't just Google for results, I've already done that and the pickings are a little scarce. I'm interested in anyone who's actually taken time to find and evaluate good sites for this - so ideally, you'd already be an Android developer interested in developing games).

Seriously, emulation is not good for performance, but most roms running on gensoid look and play better that games developed for Android. Sonic 3 looks lovely, runs at 60fps and never stutters. It even seems to look higher rez than most Android apps.Android platformer games are nowhere near as good looking or smooth.So what the hell is going on? The hardware on top end Android phones (Desire, galaxy etc) is clearly capable.

Question: why does the android platform not have games that are as good??
I remember seeing one games, I think it was called scooter - the whole damn screen moved as u mived the iphone left and right I only played for a minute - but it looked damn awesome why dont we have as good games! the persons phone: heck, it was only an iphone 3g - so u cant say it was better hardware or anything angry birds - I like - apart from that, I haven't seen any games I would even rate (ok, so angry birds is just worms game reinvented - but the subtle use of great graphics make it brilliant)
Important: I have an x10 mini pro which is STILL running android 1.6 - is this the reason why? are there better games on 2.1 and 2.2? or is it to do with the fact that there are better developers for the iphone?
