Is there any launcher that allows to have different settings in landscape and portrait modes? It would be nice to set, for example, 10x7 grid in portrait and 7x10 grid in landscape and have different arrangement (and maybe different widgets) in both modes.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was trying to create more space. I saw the apps folder and moved it to somewhere else. Then my phone started crashing, so i turned it off. When i turned it back on i got a bootloop. My phone is rooted and i have an alacatel one touch 983. It keeps showing the o2 logo. I think this is because there is no launcher.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLooks like LP 7.9 breaks both these apps on my system. When I load, my shortcuts still work, but as soon as I go into Apps Organizer, it crashes and gives me the bug screen. Folder Organizer let me get into the setup once, then it crashed as well.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Alcatel OneTouch Idol 6030x, rooted with framaroot, and I wanted to install an other launcher. I have installed Nova Launcher, press the Home Button and it asks me which launcher to go. I select Nova launcher and set as default. But everytime I lock/unlock my phone, default settings are gone and it asks me again. It's annoying. I have tried with other launchers.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using the latest version of GO Launcher Theme Factory, and I've made a theme with around 30 icons, but I can't seem to add custom icons for other apps that aren't in GO's list. For example, I want to add a Nexflix icon for my theme, but I can't because when I double click on the add custom icon button, GO wants me to open an .apk file, not an image file. How to add a new icon to the list where it's actually an image file, or .apk file that I could download to my comp that has a bunch of custom icons listed (I'll make my own actual icons).

Adding custom icon applications to GO Dev's online based Theme creator, i use on the fly to make a backup copy of app apk's in which to upload to their website, this should allow me to then change the icon for that app but every time i try to upload any apk file i get an error when actualizing the file!

Apex launcher has action shortcuts for this, but they are only 1x1. I cannot use widgets to get these actions... I have to use shortcuts. I have done what I want with 1x1 shortcuts, but they are just too small for my taste. I really want 2x1 shortcuts. I have not been able to figure out how to make them with either Simple Text or Desktop Visualizer.

The default Android icons are showing in the pages and folders where they would go but when I tap them it doesn't do anything since the apps are missing. View 4 Replies View RelatedJust got a Galaxy Skyrocket (jumped ship from iPhone 4) and switched the launcher to Go Launcher EX. However, I noticed that I can't exit/quit some of the apps by choosing the "close" option for the running app. In Go Launcher, you can get a list of (background) running apps and if you tap the icon of an app, you get a pop-up with options "close", "lock', "goto", and "info". I would think by choosing "close', it would "exit" or "quit" the app, and clear the memory footprint. However, for some apps, like Facebook, Tweeter (actually TweetCaster), etc.--they will disappear for a while and come back again. So the "close" action does not really "kill" the app.
How can I really kill the app? I don't want Tweeter to be constantly running in the background and pulling down hundreds of tweets.
Also how can I stop some apps, e.g. Facebook, from pre-loading? I don't want these apps running in the background eating up the resources when I don't need them. There must be a way, Just haven't figure it out yet.
When I navigate the menu, it's because I want to access apps that are not in my launcher.
Is there some app out there that makes the apps that you have in your launcher disappear from the menu?
I just updated my launcher pro beta.. it is now version 18..according to settings applications.so now when i press home it just goes to my original launcher and doesn't even prompt me as to what i want my default to be.i have a milestone and i'm rooted! but help. i hate the stock launcher!

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe other night, something updated on my HTC One (running Venom with GoLauncher EX) and the icons got all jacked-up. Some Google apps reappeared on the dock, a widget got pushed on top of another, etc. It looks like when the Google apps updated, they felt the need to reinstall themselves on the dock -- not sure, but that's not my main question.
When all of this happened, I lost the "grid" looking icon that will show All Apps and I'm not sure how to get it back. At this time, I can only see the apps I've put on my "home" pages, and in order to see All Apps, I must do an "add" and browse that way.
How do I get the all-apps grid thing back?
The default for apps on my mostly stock android is the screen to be moved left, left, left, for app browsing. I'd like to try it just scrolling vertically, would I need a launcher for that? If so, any recs for the most simple elegant intuitive launcher that might do that?

I know Go launcher provide hiding app function, but it is very stupid. Anyone can just click on the "hide app" button and see what is being hidden....
I really like Smart Launcher and I'm just done customising it but everytime I open an app it just starts from the start.
I'm reading some stuff in Reddit Sync, I press the home button to quickly check another app and when I go back to Reddit Sync (or any other app) it doesn't resume from where I left. Of course I can open up my recents and go from there but I'm wondering if this behavior is normal?
I'm on a LG G2 4.4.2 by the way.
MY QUESTION - APPS IN APEX LAUNCHER - Nexus 4
When I install an app (which is typically via the Play Store) the app icon does not end up on my home screen. Or what I think Apex calls a drawer. Occasionally an app does appear there automatically, but perhaps a couple out of the 50 or so apps I've installed.
The only way I have found to get them onto my drawer (or home screen) is I have to hold my finder on the screen and the "Add to Home screen" menu pops up. From there I can select "Shortcuts" and from the top of that menu I can select "Apps". I can then select just ONE app to appear on my home screen. But the thought of doing this for every app doesn't make sense to me. Is there a way to get them there automatically?
Perhaps I am completely misunderstanding the concept of the home screens. I am switching over from iOS, and there one organises all apps on home screens. Perhaps on Android the home screen is not meant for storing and accessing all the app icons??
I downloaded Launcher Pro a few days ago and am loving it. As most of you know that after downloading it, pressing the home button gives you the option of which home screen launcher that you want to..well.. launch..either HTC Sense or Launcher Pro. Well this morning I picked Launcher Pro, but accidently clicked the "don't ask me this again" box before that, so now I'm stuck on Launcher Pro and can't get back to my, or any, HTC Sense launcher. I've gone all through my settings and can't figure it out. I'd like to either get back to my old HTC Sense home screen, get to the DEFAULT HTC Sense homescreen, or get back to being able to have the option to pick which one I want to launch.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using LP for about a week (it's great BTW!) and this just started to happen so it could have something to do with the latest update. I've set LP at the default launcher and everything works great. However, if I ever long press the "home" button, go to an application, then press "home" again I get the popup asking me which launcher I want to use. I check the "set as default" box then select LP and everything is good again. It all works until I long press home the next time, then the remembered default is gone and I get the prompt again. I've tried rebooting, clearing defaults, etc.

I'm using laucher pro and when i try to use custom icons option, the gallery opens up and Im assuming that its only reading jpeg files and doesnt show the PNG files anywhere. So how would i be able to assign those custom icons if so.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm sure that many of you are aware of this, but for those who aren't, you can now have Custom Icons on your Droid X without the use of any special Launchers. The program that allows you to do this is known as Desktop Visualizer. If you have either downloaded any Custom Icon pack, or simply transferred some custom icons over from your Computer, Desktop Visualizer will allow you to choose the Custom icon that you desire, and then choose the Application or task that you want it to replace.
The really neat thing about this is the ability to create several different sizes of your downloaded Custom Icons. Simply long press on an available space on your home screen and choose from one of 4 different Icon sizes.
Please note that the "Small SS" size creates a smaller icon than the "Small" size, even though it comes first in the list. Also, be aware that some of your Custom Icons may appear sharper than others when enlarged. I assume that these were created at a higher resolution, or whatever the terminology might be.
