The default for apps on my mostly stock android is the screen to be moved left, left, left, for app browsing. I'd like to try it just scrolling vertically, would I need a launcher for that? If so, any recs for the most simple elegant intuitive launcher that might do that?

Are there any launcher out there that have a vertical scrolling screen so I can put all my widgets on one screen then just scroll up and down that one screen? I know Espier Launcher can do it, but the problem with that one is that I can not resize widgets.

It loads the html data into the WebView. The app works well on all OS's except Froyo. On Froyo the WebView doesn't respond to vertical scroll event it can scroll horizontally though.I had a onFling event listener - which has been disabled, but still no luck.

I cannot figure out how to add a new home page. I'm at ten right now. If I use Settings/Edit to get the multiple page view of home screens, there is no plus sign to add a home page. I must be missing something.
With the stock TW laucher of my SGS 2 (ICS) I would like to move pages in the App drawer, say move page number 5 to the end (page number 12) but I just can't figure out how to do that.
I can move Icons, add and remove pages and folders but I can't move an entire page. Is this not possible with the App drawer of TW launcher?

I am trying to pull up a page that is a search screen. My friends can pull up on iphone but I have tried multiple browsers on my Droid X and it won't let me scroll to the bottom of the page, which is where you would enter a search. the page is Browse View Frame page. Using an HTC Incredible, we see the scrollbars are again missing, but we cannot figure out any gesture that allows the user to scroll. Is there a special directive we need to add to our HTML? This should affect zillions of websites, any time someone is trying to scroll an area of the page rather than the whole page. I now want to create a launcher application in android phone, it simply opens the browser with the url "http://<mywebsite>/m".I use uri intent to launch the browser in onCreate function.I execute this program in my G1 phone (Cyan Mod 5). The default Android icons are showing in the pages and folders where they would go but when I tap them it doesn't do anything since the apps are missing. View 4 Replies View RelatedJust got a Galaxy Skyrocket (jumped ship from iPhone 4) and switched the launcher to Go Launcher EX. However, I noticed that I can't exit/quit some of the apps by choosing the "close" option for the running app. In Go Launcher, you can get a list of (background) running apps and if you tap the icon of an app, you get a pop-up with options "close", "lock', "goto", and "info". I would think by choosing "close', it would "exit" or "quit" the app, and clear the memory footprint. However, for some apps, like Facebook, Tweeter (actually TweetCaster), etc.--they will disappear for a while and come back again. So the "close" action does not really "kill" the app.
How can I really kill the app? I don't want Tweeter to be constantly running in the background and pulling down hundreds of tweets.
Also how can I stop some apps, e.g. Facebook, from pre-loading? I don't want these apps running in the background eating up the resources when I don't need them. There must be a way, Just haven't figure it out yet.
When I navigate the menu, it's because I want to access apps that are not in my launcher.
Is there some app out there that makes the apps that you have in your launcher disappear from the menu?
The other night, something updated on my HTC One (running Venom with GoLauncher EX) and the icons got all jacked-up. Some Google apps reappeared on the dock, a widget got pushed on top of another, etc. It looks like when the Google apps updated, they felt the need to reinstall themselves on the dock -- not sure, but that's not my main question.
When all of this happened, I lost the "grid" looking icon that will show All Apps and I'm not sure how to get it back. At this time, I can only see the apps I've put on my "home" pages, and in order to see All Apps, I must do an "add" and browse that way.
How do I get the all-apps grid thing back?
Ithere a *secure* way to hide android apps without requiring to root? By secure I mean that the invisible apps cannot be easily found by other users and would require password.
I know Go launcher provide hiding app function, but it is very stupid. Anyone can just click on the "hide app" button and see what is being hidden....
I really like Smart Launcher and I'm just done customising it but everytime I open an app it just starts from the start.
I'm reading some stuff in Reddit Sync, I press the home button to quickly check another app and when I go back to Reddit Sync (or any other app) it doesn't resume from where I left. Of course I can open up my recents and go from there but I'm wondering if this behavior is normal?
I'm on a LG G2 4.4.2 by the way.
MY QUESTION - APPS IN APEX LAUNCHER - Nexus 4
When I install an app (which is typically via the Play Store) the app icon does not end up on my home screen. Or what I think Apex calls a drawer. Occasionally an app does appear there automatically, but perhaps a couple out of the 50 or so apps I've installed.
The only way I have found to get them onto my drawer (or home screen) is I have to hold my finder on the screen and the "Add to Home screen" menu pops up. From there I can select "Shortcuts" and from the top of that menu I can select "Apps". I can then select just ONE app to appear on my home screen. But the thought of doing this for every app doesn't make sense to me. Is there a way to get them there automatically?
Perhaps I am completely misunderstanding the concept of the home screens. I am switching over from iOS, and there one organises all apps on home screens. Perhaps on Android the home screen is not meant for storing and accessing all the app icons??
Is there a way to only have an android device, specifically Acer Iconia A500 running 3.2.1, to only rotate horizontally and not vertically.

I currently have Lightning Launcher, which is great by the way, but I can only set it up so that the entire screen scrolls. I was thinking it would be nice for have a spot on the left side of the screen for favorite apps and maybe some widgets (I guess you could call it a "dock"), and on the right side of the screen have a scrolling list of the rest of my applications. Probably with 1/3 of the screen being the left portion and 2/3 being the right portion. Can this be done with Lightning Launcher? or any other launcher? and how?
